a mixture of low moral and a fatalistic belief that more losses = more progress

One would suppose this would lead to munitions behavior eventually, but Russians lack object permanence and a sense of causality. While we can see a regular flow of mobniks who complain about lack of support, rotation, and then then die only to be replaced by a new group who goes though the same motions, the mobniks in question do not. They are unable to form the neural associations required to understand that there were forbears to their current predicament, and what that may imply about their own circumstance.

I propose they may not even be able to recognize their reflection in a mirror, should one be presented. That is now cognitively primitive the Russian is.

Domestic dogs were created by killing wolves who didn't get along with humans. Russia has killed several generations of independent thinkers, leaving its population to essentially be docile farm animals. Give it another 50 years and you'll be able to buy Russian women as human cows like those hentai manga.

Ever since I can't watch russian porn, they are hot af but I always see that spark of daemonic immorality behind their eyes, and I know the only reason they are fricking on camera is because they couldn't find something worse and more evil to do more profitably.

                Yes, they're fricking pure evil.

I once had to take a connecting flight out of Russia for work.

The ticket agent working at the baggage area was possibly the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. It was like she walked out of an airline promotional poster.

But when I was checking into my pre-scheduled flight, she informed me that I needed to pay here. I took my wallet and card out, and asked what I needed to pay for. She said it was $400 to check my bags.

This baffled me: my bags were already checked on the previous flight, and $400 is an absurd amount of money. I put my card and wallet down, and took out my ticket. "Here," I said, "it says here my bags are pre-checked."

And while I leaned over to show her and point to the ticket that showed my bags were pre-checked, she took my card from on top of my wallet right from under me and swiped it, and then began typing furiously. "Thank you," she said, sticking her chin out at me and holding out my card and flight tickets, "have a nice flight."

I looked at the receipt and saw that what she sold me was optional luggage insurance.

I immediately demanded to speak with a manager, who was this dumpy bald frick, and both of them stonewalled me. They wouldn't even address what happened: the manager just kept repeating "Sir, you have to be at your gate ready for your flight." And that fricking b***h wouldn't stop pointing her chin at me, just so that she could look down her nose at me.

Frick her. I hope her entire family was droned to death and I get to see them in some kill compilation.

That flight was miserable, too. It was 14 hours: about two hours in, I buzzed for an attendant and asked for water. Two hours later, I did it again, and the attendant left to bring two other flight attendants to me, who explained that its a large flight, that there are many people who might want water, and that this was the last time I would get a drink. I was stunned.

                Frickhole country. TZD.

            This is only technically correct.
The "surplus" exists in expired roasties, because the society is so cucked in terms of soviet feminism, that women literally drive their husbands to death 20+ years before they die themselves.
For young men, there's a deficit of women actually, partially because women literally go for any type of foreign man, including churkas and such.

        >when you’re obviously a 2ch homosexual
huh, that would explain a lot
russians have that strange cultural feature about them where they do subhuman stuff proudly
like saying dumbest lies imaginable with zero shame and then doubling down on them after being called out
or eating oxcart of shit with a smug face

        >like saying dumbest lies imaginable with zero shame and then doubling down on them after being called out
It's a feudal primitive power thing anon. For Russians language isn't a device for communication and a meeting of minds but another tool for asserting dominance or submission and deception. Telling an obvious lie that everyone knows is a lie and forcing people to go along with it to them means they're strong, they can tell a lie and not have to have it be believable and make the population go with it.

Ironically it makes them and other authoritarian societies including the bugs often curious bad at actual propaganda. Because in their own societies propaganda is backed up by the fist and not in a subtle way either so they can get lazy, it doesn't have to be sophisticated and believable. So they don't tend to develop the skills they just say dumb shit and demand it be believed, which doesn't do so well vs free societies.

That's why their 5th columnists are their most dangerous efforts, westerners who embrace their shit know how to speak and deceive other westerners.

Yeah that principle. It's a real thing.

I think the IRL the real example would be marketing speak and scam mails/phishing, particularly as it's more and more powered by AI. Lots of language that looks ever more like it was written by a human to communicate with, that tries to look like that to bypass filters and defenses, but the point is to attack the target and extract money or authentication credentials or the like from them. There's a whole zoo of "information predators" at this point if you think about it, like that big telephone scam targeting the elderly right now where the call pretend their grand kid is in prison and needs bail money or something like that.

No, it isn't. Ukrainian soldiers hold defense in extremely hard conditions, sometimes without drone support because DJI's cameras freeze due to low temperature, they lack ammunition, sometimes positions are held just due to drones and steel bolls of defenders. It's common to laugh at russians, but it would be wrong to underestimate them or underestimate the efforts made by Ukrainian soldiers to hold their positions.

Part of me mourns the quickly approaching end of the T-80 and T-64 series. This war is going to use them all up since they were never exported beyond a handful or so. Say what you want about them being cramped or how easily the ammo would go off if their armor got penetrated but I'd still not want to be stuck in a Leopard 1 or M60 going against them back in the 1980s.

        >Because stadiametric sights are so much better than rangefinders and ballistic computers?
But T-64 and T-72 did have rangefinders and ballistic computers? Coincidence range finders and mechanical fire control in the initial models, but by T-64B and T-72A they both had laser range finders and electronic fire control systems. It sounds like that pretty badly outclasses an older model Leo 1 or M60A1 given the additional disparity in the armor and firepower.

Granted once you start seeing Abrams/Leopard 2's and the TTS start out the Warsaw Pact started to get badly outclassed by NATO countries in terms of optics/night vision and fire control. But it sounds like it'd still suck to be in some of the ealier NATO tanks unless you were mainly fighting T-55 or T-62.

Ukraine didn't use "fighting age man" to begin with, common age in Ukraine's military is in between 27 and 50, because that's mobilization age in Ukraine, anyone higher or lower than this are volunteers
    >Zelensky said he need
First, Ukraine is not like your african shithole Black person-kun, Zelensky isn't a warlord, he's an elected president that gets out as easily as he got in, he's representative of a country and it's people and he can't decide anything for himself, I know it's a difficult concept for the third world but you have to swallow it sooner or later.
Second – no, he didn't said that. Military Staff demands more and approximate number flying around in news outlets is 500k, and he told that generals speak about that with him, but he never said that HE needs more people, on the contrary political elite resists that effort because they fear that would hurt their ratings.
    >cannon fodder just for 2024.
No, it's not "just for 2024", militaries don't function like that. They have a specific amount of people they want to rotate out and specific amount of units they want to expand or create new, and for that they name amount of new people they need. It has nothing to do with "just 2024".

There's a whole zoo of "information predators" at this point if you think about it, like that big telephone scam targeting the elderly right now where the call pretend their grand kid is in prison and needs bail money or something like that.

      >like that big telephone scam targeting the elderly right now where the call pretend their grand kid is in prison and needs bail money or something like that.

    >Russia was supposed to be completely out of tanks
you're brown and a tourist so let me explain. "Running out". The phrase we use is "running out". Not "ran out".

I know darkies like you live like animals but imagine you didn't for a moment and actually used toilet paper. You see, in fair countries like mine people sometimes go a little crazy and panic, buying all the toilet paper from the store shelves. Have we "run out"? No, not at all. There is someone in the parking lot or on local social media selling it for $5 a roll.

You see it isn't that we've "run out", but that we are "running out" which compels unusual economics, like buying and selling shit-paper for $5 a roll. And you can imagine your usage of such a roll would be usually sparing, wouldn't it?

Or maybe you can't imagine that given you use your left hand, but whatever.

Russia and its armor is like that. They haven't "run out", but they're "running out". This means it's usage has an expense it otherwise didn't before, and is to be used sparingly.
Something like the suburbs of Donetsk or a bridge head across a river (where there isn't even a bridge supporting it lamo) are perfect examples of places where armor should be applied to "solve the problem", but clearly it isn't. They've both been
issues" since the start of October, and remain so. Is this because Russia "has no more tanks and IFVs"? No, it is because Russia's economy of force dictates it cannot spare any more than it already is. Therefore the ass goes without a proper wipe.

I've been on this board for well over a decade, lol. You can tell morale is bad when a basic statement of skepticism sends shills like you into hysterics. The point is that any numbers given in this thread are almost always laughably optimistic. Prior to the counteroffensive, the general consensus in threads like this was that Russia was so severely weakened and so thinly spread that they'd fall apart under the slightest pressure, which obviously didn't happen. They're also having no issues supplying soldiers despite them apparently dying at a 10:1 ratio for the last 2 years lol. And yes, I do expect there to be an extreme amount of fabricated evidence. Why would they publish any figures that might harm morale? They HAVE to keep winning, and Russia has to look like they're on their last legs; that's what information warfare is (we just need a few more billion in aid to win, promise). Good information allows you to predict where the conflict is heading, and if I believed half of what you morons claim then Russia should have collapsed last year. Alternatively, if you look at the long term trends rather than the propaganda, it's a stalemate between to slav shitholes and it's going to stay that way for a long while.

        Anonymous

As a matter of fact ukrainian counter-offensive was halted yes, this was in order to avoid operational attrition, ukrainians effectively don't have the luxury of enough manpower and material to throw at the frontlines, among other things because they suffer from the same demographic issues as Russia and being a real democracy their authorities have to ensure they are not just sending men to pointless slaughters, as for Russia itself, they have the advantage of an autocratic government which doesn't care about their own which in turn allows them to sacrifice thousands for meagre territorial gains which can be used for propaganda.
But the problem arises from this, while nothing catastrophic yet it's obvious russian economics and industry are cracking, not in quality of life for russians, no one cares about them, not even the russian themselves, but in production capabilities, on that sense 2025 is the year where there is an inflection point, with russian industry no longer being capable to cover the needs of the warfront, Ukraine only needs to do exactly what they are doing now, that is, force a favorable exchange in war material, not troops (they are chaff), while improving their own weaponry and sabotagin russian industry.
Once the point is reached it will be basically over for Russia's occupation of continental Ukraine, Crimea may still require another approach, but for the time being returning the map to january 2022 is what Ukraine can and will realistically do.

How much of a risk is it for Ukraine if Trump gets elected?

            Anonymous

Not much, Trump has commented he will ask Zelinsky to give some territorial concessions, the condition is if Putin accepts it then all will be fine, if not, well Trump will scale up support for Ukraine until Putin's sees his way and he will have to, he is already under heavy pressure to keep his industrial basis going and even getting a few dozen kilometers can be portrayed as a victory while Ukraine solving territorial issues means they can join NATO, which in turns means any attempt russians may try some years from now won't be answered by financial and ammo support but actual NATO military forces directly engaging russian forces. Then again this depends not just on Trump but in how willing are ukrainians to negotiate and how much the russian may have in terms of resources to keep fighting, of course the problem is that Trump still has to win and by 2025 Biden and friends may have created a different scenario.

You understand that as long as Russia's Mafia State still has nukes and enough dirty blood money they can just buy all the ex-Russian and Soviet gear they can find outside its borders and buy or trade for Chinese and North Korean equipment and gear, correct? And Putin and his "ex"-KGB goons don't see anything wrong with this as they already were planning a shift towards China, Asia and "the global south" this whole 20 years.

And as long he's still willing to send over tanks and troops that may not even be Russian over the border to die the war will still keep going.

"RUSSIA WILL FIGHT INFINITE TIME, WITH INFINITE LOSSES UNTIL LAST RUSSIAN IS DEAD TO CAPTURE 0.000001 MORE sq km" is said about every single Russian war: Crimean war, Soviet-Polish war, Russo-Japanese war, Aghanistan, Chechnya. All of them ended with a whimper

No one denies that, but historical experience shows in these sort of scenarios Russia usually breaks apart if they dont succesfully win a war during the first months of combat, with the only exception being WW2 but then again, US was already the largest industrial base in the planet, consider during WW1 allied support wasnt enough to sustain Russia, particularly due the usual issues of having a cadre of good military officers.

Well, what Putin and the rest of the Mafia have going in Russia isn't something they had before. Right now, everyone that could take part in Russian "breaking apart" is living large with the money stolen from Gazprom or the RU Ministry of Defense. And the ones that couldn't be paid off, were ran off or killed off.

The only way I see it ending that way like you said, is the racket named Russia going bust and a lot pockets of shady people going empty. A lot more than what has already happened. After that, the violence and war amongst them is certain.

Russia has been collapsing since the fall of the Empire. It has monotonically declined in size, stature, wealth, power, and influence from its peak of Empire. From that Empire, to the Soviet Union, and now Federation. Smaller, shorter, and sicklier every time. This isn't the end of Russia, it is the continence of the decline of Russia. Another disaster in a long list of self-inflicted mutilations. And not the last.

How do we know that the Ukrainians in Avdiivka really have lost only 43 armored vehicles if most of the losses are due to artillery and possibly done even behind Avdiivka? This is after all, a low minimum number we're talking about.

You don't understand the problem if you think like that. Their social and personal origin may be deeply tragic, but it doesn't demise the sheer malicious influence they have over russia and eastern Europe as whole.
It's really hard to explain to someone outside. In short, imagine if piss poor tankie karens addicted to central TV news and pathologically uncapable of critical thinking because they rose up in totalitarian dictature were something like 20% of population and >50% of active electorate, in fact a most common person you would consider a stereotypical "vatnik" in actuality would most probably be one of those babushkas. And on top that they don't and can't work because they lack the skills and now health for any kind of work at all and so require constant subsidies, and as a cherry on top, most value they produced back when they still were able bodied was for different country completely and when USSR fell all the government funds dedicated to their future pension were basically stolen, especially so in Belarus and Ukraine, where Russia just outright took everything and left new countries to pay their pensioners with money they now need to conjure out of thin air.
Socio-economically you can compare them to a huge societal layer of emigrants from a culturally different country that live purely on subsidies but still have full voting rights, I can't really explain in words what a potent breeding ground for populism that is.

I know what you are talking about:

NFKRZ Roman has become mandatory for explaining the Vatnik mentality, from Moscow and Saint Petersburg inequality towards the rest of the the country, to the babushka who doesn't understand the word heterosexual to how Russia propaganda works, also the crazy man did it, he managed to get a visa to Europe.

    Because you are.
Your entire response, like you last, refutes nothing moroning armor usage nor losses thereof.
    >OSINT is going to be plagued by the same issues that affect anything crowdsourced, blah blah blah
Like this hand-waving sophistry. Really? As if these groups don't open themselves to PUBLIC audits by hostile viewers? You think Oryx, Perpetua (I repeat myself) never were told "hey, that's a duplicate", "hey, you've not counted this in your UKR losses"? They still post updates and remove duplicates. And this is publicly announced on pro-UKR and pro-RU forums for them to rebuke and critique.
Oh, and sourced from these forums/telegrams too. Where do you suppose all these records of Lancet losses come from, NAFO support?
Two years on you'll note that there are no systemic falsehoods claimed, let alone evidenced. And proven? No. Not on your life, darkie. Keep those gutless aspersions to yourself.

    >what do you see the state of the war being in a year?
Avdiivka is lost to RU forces by mid-spring, the Krynky bridgehead collapses around then, and the Russians make advances in the Kharkiv Oblast before much of it being undone over the following summer/fall. Modest intensity RU offenses are conducted out of Kreminna in the north and against Ukraine's Robotyne holding in the south, but to no meaningful map-wise effects. UKR forces focus on fortification and non-offensive actions for the bulk of 2024, limited to very small localized counters-attacks to drive out the vulnerable leavings of RU advances when discovered. Winter 2024 is too far off to call. 2024 is going to be rather rote in terms of ground combat. Black swans are always possible, but you don't predict those, obviously. Things will otherwise proceed at the given aggregate loss rates (and ratios) as they do now.
    >that sounds like Russia is winning tho
If that is your honest take after reading that, then you really are hopeless.

I don't think Russia is winning by any means. Russia has inarguably lost at a geopolitical level, and the US has gotten their money's worth at this point even if Russia managed to take 100% of Ukraine. Realistically, Russia's not moving far past the existing lines in the foreseeable future. What I doubt is the reported ratio of casualties, because, to me, this looks like a peer war, so I'm inherently skeptical of any claims of 10-1 casualties or material losses that suggest Russia is going to run dry on tanks, apc's, soldiers, artillery, etc. Regarding the data, I would argue that the largest room for error is the relative availability of data from Ukrainian sources vs Russian sources, which is a far harder problem to solve compared to duplicates. You can have a massive amount of samples, but if the data is biased then you're going to draw bad conclusions. Of course, if we imagine a similar progression to the war then we aren't really arguing about anything.

        >What I doubt is the reported ratio of casualties
anon, casualties are not effectively counted by any external party. Other than to the highest orders of Russian and Ukrainian government officials, a true source for the record is not known. We merely have their public declarations to take a face value, which is thin.
At most, OSINT-types attempt to correlate vehicle losses to personnel losses based on the the vague notions of what a company, regiment, etc must look like with so much of their armor visually dead, but that's just a guess. An educated guess, but a guess nonetheless.

Moreover, none of my posts, nor the premise of this thread, is about personnel casualties. It is about armor losses. This is the salient point of everything mentioned.

We already know that 99% of their production comes from harvesting these Soviet crops planted decades ago, so making them unusable seems like it might be a decent investment.

Because the US wasn't as serious about sanctions until the past few months. They've been making visits to China and India who are now breaking off economic relations with Russia. And the US is also now actively searching for people in the country who are trying to help Russia out. Most of the leaks are sealed off, and Russia is actually feeling the squeeze now.

Probably more death marches to Avdiivka. If they keep attacking Avdiivka until it eventually falls that just shows how stupid the Russians are and how easily they fall into sunken cost. How many men and vehicles are gone because Puticakes wanted that stupid little town? I get the distinct feeling more Russians have died trying to take the town than there were Ukrainians living there before the war.

I really hope the Ukrainians are building some serious heavy fortifications farther back because barely fortified towns keep costing the Russians tens of thousands of lives. Well fortified towns and cities are going to be impossible to take fortresses. Imagine having that much trouble taking Bakhmut and Avdiivka then running up to a city surrounded by serious fortifications built in advance specifically to destroy your meat waves efficiently with minimal casualties.

Unlikely. But you should consider that Avdiivka was a linchpin of local ukie defense since forever. It was sieged and stormed time and time again even before 2022, it was Bakhmut long before Bakhmut. So I won't be surprised if more russians died there than people lived even before russians officially began trying to "take it"

It's all about Zenit being threatened. It's a hill, former AA base that is guarding southwestern access to the town (or what's left of it). Ukies had really hard time holding it recently and without it Russians would quickly advance to the next fortified position which is the town itself.
This hill is literally on the 2014 border mind you. Two years into the invasion we've come to this. We are discussing implications of Russia finally capturing a hillock on the Donetsk outskirts.
