being realistic 99,9% scenarios that i saw on war shaky videos have enemies either hiding in distant buildings or running soo far away that you can barelly see them
a propper machinegun its usefull for sure but what about the full auto in rifles? they are just noise makers in war?
In the navy, the purpose of the full auto position is for OS rates to disqualify themselves from rifle so they don't have to stand topside rover.
why does the military issue a rifle with automatic fire modes when it never gets used?
To make you ask questions.
because most of these rifles were built decades ago when the thinking on them was different. too expensive to replace them all so they just tell people to not touch the giggle switch
To flex on people who can’t afford transferable for 20-30k while FN sells M4s for like 850 a rifle.
It's pretty funny how an enlisted can outsmart a veteran officer writing the regulations.
If you were a soldier in a war and the enemy was 150 m in front of you and to the side of you and rounds were zinging and cracking all around you as you took cover down in some burned out substation when you returned fire at this vague area where you sort of think the enemy may be what setting would you place your rifle on op?
Punctuation. Try some.
Go back
>Pssst, hey Kid. Wanna buy some punctuation?
Clearly a stylistic choice to give strength to his point about the hectic nature of battle. You Black folk can’t write for shit.
YOU YOUNGINS WIT YOUR PUNCTUATION AGAIN BACK IN MY DAY WE INFERRED WHAT THE OTHER. OERSON MEANT BY THE GRUNTS THEY MADE BE HAPOYN YOU CAN EVEN RITE THE HEROS DIED IN DUBYA DUBYA TOO SO YOU bot SPEAK GERMAN

I'm an ESL and even I easily understood his post.
Black person if you were in a school would you learn how to fricking write?
>what setting would you place your rifle on op?
Semi and use this novel technique called 'aiming'... unlike the average american.
you use it too finish all the ammo given to you for an exercise but use it during the exercise and you will be yelled at
Suppressing fire is pretty much the only reason to use it, maybe if you find yourself in the rare scenario where you have a bead on a mass of enemies as well.
what a weird looking selector
>never heard of a four position selector
Less expensive than deviating from the standard
heard of a four position selector
the selector just looks weird, i can see it's 4 position you homosexual
>thread is about full auto
>OP posts Burst fire selector pic
What did OP mean by this?
Are you blind?
>behold annon the rare breed of M16... the M16A3. capable of semi, burst, and wait for it... Full Auto!!
No shit it's useful. This discussion has been beaten to death, revived thanks to israeli Sorcery and then beaten to death again.
Full auto is useful in close combat (Room and Trench clearing, for example) and suppressive fire. While these situations are niche, having full auto versus just semi auto is a major boon to the soldiers on the ground.
If the armies of the world thought that full auto was a bad thing they would have been the first to delete that function from their weapons systems. Fricking moron
>Full auto is useful in close combat (Room and Trench clearing, for example) and suppressive fire
What nato countries actually do this?
all of them
go ahead, find me one that doesn't train and prepare for specifically this using full auto as part of the doctrine
t. threw a LOT of bolts fun-auto in trenches and rooms during conscription
>What nato countries actually do this?
In Denmark I was taught to clear rooms like this:
>1. Hand grenade through entrance
>2. Full auto on, jump in and spray at anything that moves
We were also instructed to use full auto when shooting at low flying aircraft and helicopters (although its probably better to run and hide).
This is good advice but assumes you actually care about the lives of your own soldiers. Our modern fake and gay zio-police force military doesn't allow this tactic because soldiers are accountable for every round they fire and someone might get killed who wasn't supposed to be killed. They would rather forbid fragging and room brooming at the expense of the lives of their own soldiers.
This will change during a peer-to-peer conflict.
They won't care about that shit then.
All of them, also thats why usually then opt more for small caliber weapons since spray control is just much more effective, 300 blackout and stubby ARs got popular mostly due of armor technology advancements, yet they very rarely are used since most room clearings threads dont even use armor, it would have to be something way more planned, like Iranian Siege 2.0 tier
Rifles are gonna be used in semi auto pretty much always. Only exception is in an ambush, where you have everyone go cyclic rate for a bit to make sure everything in the kill zone is dead
> shaky videos
OP is a dumb homosexual yet again. He watches videos and thinks his opinion based on them is "realistic".
it's called a bipod or a even a sandbag you fricking Black person
any vet will tell you full auto is more rounds fired and therefore more effective.
The larp of wasted ammo is a psy op put out there by Pentagon penny pinchers.
In. battle, switch to full auto and stay on full auto
Full auto is useful in any CQB scenario. It is cut from civilian use because globohomosexual number 1 priority is to remove any possibility the peasants can get an upper hand in urban combat.
made a mistake learned the hard way once
>went innawoods to shoot had great time fired my last magazine. My stupid smile quickly turned upside down. I was out of ammo, innawoods the sun was setting and others were still around shooting thier guns and I had 4 miles to drive to get out of the area and onto a long lonely highway.
Ammo is precious! Use it sparingly and for its true purpose.!
on assault rifles not often even in close ranges. its usually a recipe for running out of ammo and not hitting anything.
sometimes it can be useful like unloading though penetrable materials at close range or when doing a close range ambush when you can brace your rifle against something.
>being realistic 99,9% scenarios that i saw on war shaky videos have enemies either hiding in distant buildings or running soo far away that you can barelly see them
The human eye is a lot better at seeing things in the distance than a GoPro with a fisheye lens anon
most of them probably wont hit shit which is why it's either removed or reserved entirely for machine guns so you don't waste all your ammo in the first 5 minutes of a fight.
never, because the human eye can only see 60 fps
Less often than this question gets asked.
Less often than this thread gets made.
Not at all, once you learn how to shoot on reset full auto stops existing.
Guns are for pussies. Real men hunt mammoth with sticks.
t.manlet gungrabber
Unless it is a squad support weapon and being used to keep some foe's head behind cover while troops move up, NOBODY!
It’s fun to mag dump and burn the rest of the ammo after range quals finish.
