Idk, it looks offline or abandoned. SAM launcher was inert to direct hit, despite usually blowing up in hueg fireworks. What.

Who the frick will ever buy S-line AA systems from Russia? They are fricking dogshit

Turkey bought S400. And Turkey is fricking up Russian AA since then

This is what I have been thinking for a while. As triggered as the US was about it and worrying that they'd leak F-35 and Patriot secrets, it was the Russians that got played the whole time.

Makes me wonder what the Turkish long game is. Maybe sell both hardware specs to China for some cool Silk Road 2.0 kickbacks?

Erdoğan doesn't have a long game, he is a reactionary. He doesn't think even 1 second before he acts.

This. I don't know if US being buttmad about it was part of the plan or just Turks being turks trying to play both sides, but it's obvious they inspected the S400 very carefully

I mean a "plan" to make putin feel like xaxaxa we are dismantling hato, as they wouldn't be able to purchase the missiles otherwise. My gut feeling tells me they will get the F35s sooner or later anyway, maybe after their election in 2023

Could honestly be either. CIA and Turks are both old, old hands at playing reindeer games like that. The Turks are also Muslims and naturally untrustworthy and may just be doing whatever they feel, perhaps trying to buy their way back into the US's good graces.

Only Edogan. Even Serbia is buying their AA from China.

They're cheaper than alternatives and all the false hype made people think you can hit stuff other than passenger planes with it

Plus any country limited to s300 due to finances can't really fight a war against an advanced opponent anyway. If the only AA you can afford is s300, you're gonna get curbstomped by default. Might as well just surrender

I wonder how much of that is due to data from Western awacs and other early detection systems

Is the idea that whatever is filming those S300 sites shouldn't be because it's obviously flying and the S300 itself should have taken it out?

Are they flying so close to get the thing to ping them so they can confirm which is the real and which is the inflatable?

      I'm lost

        Anonymous

It's not only filming the site, but also conducting strikes

Note that, the Turkish MAM series drone munition's range is less than 8 km

      Anonymous

The low altitude acquisition radar seen in the first few seconds is down, and the "Flap Lid" tracking radar is pointing away from the drone at around 0:19. It looks like the site has been struck atleast once before and then abandoned?

recently in the Kherson offensive they were using their Frogfoots and at least 1 flanker to hit russian AD in the sector.

They also supposedly found a war to launch them from the ground at russian AD but I never saw definitive proof of that.

I'm just hoping for Fulcrums and Flankers with AIM-120s BTFO'ing russians in the sky eventually.

no one tell them theyre german optics designed for police helicopters lmao

turkey manufactures its own optics too, for example:

        https://www.aselsan.com.tr/en/capabilities/electro-optic-systems/air-platforms/aselflir200-electrooptical-reconnaissance-and-surveillance-system

yes but the optic in question is the ARGOS-ii from hensoldt that was designed for police/border guard helicopters.

the optics from aselsan are way better too. i guess azerbaijan went for argos-ii because its cheaper and does seem to get the job done anyway.
