How many spare mags should you have for a gun at home?
I have five 15-stacks, two 20's, and a cheap and shitty 32 round stendo I never use.
Should I get more? Is this overkill? Do I have the tism?

>150 hollow points locked and loaded
look at mr money bags over here
4 for a pistol
10 for a rifle
more if you are trying to future proof
for home defense
NGMI
It's what I keep at my desk. I have a couple mags stuck around other places in my apartment, in case I can't get to my 870, for whatever reason. I keep that beside my bed in case I hear
>BANG
>BANG
>CRASH
>shooting them
What if I do like I said in
and beat/sodomize them with my stendo?
Or pin them to the wall with a nugget bayo charge, THEN sodomize them?
When you hear your door get kicked in at 2am the handgun 12" away on your nightstand beats the AR/Shotgun 8 feet away in your closet you fucking retard.
Neither did mine until a year ago. It's still being fought in court and hasn't been implemented yet but who knows what the future holds. Buy now while mags are plentiful and cheap and you won't have to worry about finding mags in a panic next year when your state is flooded with freshly imported democratic voters.
Three isn't a bad minimum for handguns or weird guns (shit in a weird caliber or guns you got just for fun). For your standard AR you should have 30+ mags I think. That's the gun that will be your lifeline on the off chance we ever do find outselves in a societal collapse/shtf scenario, but it is also the magazine most likely to be included in antigun legislation due to its scary black rifle status.
A basic bitch Magpul Gen2 AR mag is anywhere from $10 to $15 right now and will cost you about the same or a little more to fill with ammo. While the chances of it happening are fairly low, that $30 investment might be worth its weight in gold someday.
>the handgun 12" away on your nightstand beats the AR/Shotgun 8 feet away
Compromise: get a bigger nightstand.
He looks like one of those boomers who leaves it on an empty chamber because the sound of racking the pump will scare off an intruder.
My AR sleeps within arms reach
I just cuddle with my shotgun.
I leave it empty unlocked cos it's not drop safe and idw accidentally shoot myself in my sleep
>door get kicked in
you're doing it wrong
retard
Over 80% of all self defense scenarios involve the use of handguns, you mongol freak.
Home defense, not self defense. Reading comprehension skills of a child.
Keep some NIW and not used, just in case of bans, collapse, trading/selling fodder, backups, etc. So get another 10 or so at least. Magazines are semi-disposable items.
Thankfully my state doesn't have any capacity restrictions or other gay laws. The only weird ones that stick out to me is no semi-auto hunting and no Sunday hunting, though I don't know if the second is still in effect.
I think you’re good to go anon, never hurts to have more mags at the ready.
>Glock 19x
>3 10rnd
>5 19rnd
>2 32rnd
Forgot pic
when you put the glock +2 baseplate on do you use the same spring?
Sorry anon idk, they’re factory 19rounders.
i guess i should have expected this level or competence from someone who shoots crit duty. thanks anyway
>expecting competence
>on PrepHole
Come on, anon.
checked, and why 10 rds mags instead 17 rds or more for 19x?
From the thumbnail, it looked like you were showing off your dildos
How did you know I have five 15", two 20", and a 32" stendo dildo?
I don't know. I just opened an ammo can looking for some space to store a case of 9mm and found 25 yugo ak mags I had forgotten about. I'd say not so many you forget about stacks of them, but it was a nice surprise.
It's like /k/ristmas to your future self.
Stuff breaks, springs wear down, feedlips expand, stuff gets lost. If your gun is a piece of shit you should have never bought it. If you have a good one, you need spare parts and plenty of good mags.
Don't fuck around with "range mags." Besides possibly jamming and fucking your shit up at the range, the money could have been saved or spent on the good mags that also work perfectly good at the range.
Sell the stendo to some gangbanger and buy more factory mags.
I don't know if id sell it to some nagger. I can always just use it as like a last resort, and if/when it jams up, take it out and throw it or beat and sodomize them with it.
More than I can count. I have no idea how many mags I have. Fuck it.
Remember that magazines are consumables just at a much lower rate than ammunition.
>(5) 30's
>(3) 40's
>(1) 10, 20 & 50
I only keep the 20 loaded in the gun and the 10 loaded as a backup everything else is empty.
8-12 magazines for handguns, 30+ for rifles, and that's per firearm, so if you have two ARs, that's 60 stanag mags.
The minimum amount of magazines I'm willing to have is 3. I don't really want more than I can carry. So, I would say 3 to 12. If you want to invest in the hopes that high capacity magazines will be grandfathered into a ban, just get some cheap magpul ones and leave them in the bag.
Enough to fill every pouch and mag well you own three times over is the minimum I'm working towards. This way you can have one in each pouch... Loaded mags in your backpack for each pouch... And then enough at home that you can afford to lose or break some. Ideally, you want even more. You can skimp on pistol mags a bit, because pistols suck shit. Your long guns are your priority.
how shitty is shitty? if it straight up jams then just toss it and buy a new one
It has jammed, yeah. I had two of them, but I got rid of the other one because of it being really bad.
If I get rid of this one too though, what will I use to sodomize the person who breaks in? I don't want to use muh dick to do it. I don't want gay AIDS.
Six fifteen round mags for a CZ75b.
Mags are consumable items. You want to keep 2 or 3 "good" mags that you're not going to constantly drop and fill with crud on the range and beyond that it's whatever is convenient for you.
Cheap slightly unreliable mags are fine for range use, it's all practice. I use ETS and when they get stood on or whatever I throw the springs and followers into Menendez bodies until they're completely fucked.
I try to keep at least 5 for each pistol and 10 for each rifle. I have over 100 5.56 magazines and a few drums because I can't pass up a sale. A lot of them are still NIB. Maybe I'll sell a few when SCOTUS cucks out on Duncan v. Bonta.
Do you want to be ready to defend yourself from one incident within american society? Two mags is fine, with the second being just as much for dealing with a malfunction as it is for running out of rounds.
Do you want to be ready to practice regularly for the next forty years? Stack mags to the ceiling.
Why would you need to use all that anon? Are you a cartel member? Or do you like to larp about imaginary scenarios that will never happen?
Have and not need > need and not have.
uhh i keep one spare loaded
n + 1
30 year old boomer here, not that long ago a used Glock 17 magazine was $70. You never know when the israelites are going to force a magazine ban. Buy a lifetime supply. Remember that magazines can get damaged and will need replacing. Buy a lifetime supply for your kids. Whenever there is a sale, buy. I have several 27 gallon containers full of magazines.
OP
I'm 31 and I'm trying to get a late start on shit. These 20 round mags weren't available last time I bought some. I'm trying to get a few here and there when I can.
I need to find a good place online to order JHP from, too. There's only a couple places in my area to get it. One place gives weird vibes from the employees, and the other charges too much.
You should get about 8 more 15 rounders and you should be good to go. Remember to always plan your magazine purchases as if your State was going to pass an AWB on the very next day. So even if you can't afford the gun right now, at least get the magazines then.
I was gonna start opting for buying the 20 round ones now that they're available. They weren't there when I was buying them before.
I do plan on buying more though, a few at a time.
You should buy more mags.
All of you should buy more mags.
I probably spent 4-5k on mags the year my state enacted a mag ban and Okay stopped production.
I'd stop at 15 for hand guns and I literally haven't stopped buying mags for my AR since I got it. 1 or 2 a month. you can never have enough 30 rounders. Thing on everyone's mind is a ban, but I always imagine being able to give allies magazines for whatever reason, be that the mythical boogaloo or having supplies to give to friendly US forces who may pass through the area in the event of a war on the mainland.
>inb4 neither of those will ever happen
yeah, you're more than likely right.
I also give them out to friends who are just getting into guns to make the intro a little less financially straining, for group shoots with family. If a ban comes, guess who just became a black market dealer for 30 round mags for whoever wants them? Major return on an investment right there.
beyond weirdo shit, it's just nice to not have to take a break every 10 minutes to reload mags at the range.
