How many Russian forces had these retards moved to Kherson?

How many Russian forces had these retards moved to Kherson? And was it just because the Ukrainians virtually said: "HEY GUISE, WE WILL HAVE A YUUUUUGE OFFENSIVE IN KHERSON SOON *wink wink*" I can't believe this.

If potato man pulls this off, Valerii Zaluzhnyi will probably be called "the first great general of the 21st century", and the september offensive will become part of the curriculum for every military school in Ukraine and probably also abroad

Oh absolutely. The operational surprise and boldness alone will get him into the West Point study courses. He'll no doubt get plenty of invites to give guest lectures.

He's gonna get promoted to Field Marshal I hope. A first for Ukraine.

          >promoted to Field Marshal

The Ukies did away with all the Soviet Autism years ago, no more Field Marshals, “Guards” units ect.

But “Ataman” (commander of all Cossack military forces), I could see the Rada passing a bill to make that a thing

They have ~25-30K in Kherson area, another ~20-30K in Izyum area

    >was it just because the Ukrainians virtually said: "HEY GUISE, WE WILL HAVE A YUUUUUGE OFFENSIVE IN KHERSON SOON *wink wink*"
No. It's because there's an actual offensive happening in Kherson and Russians assumed Ukraine threw at them everything they got. Kherson offensive is by far larger than the Kupiansk offensive, there's not much progress in the south because Russia brought huge reinforcements there. At the expense of their defenses in Donbas and Kharkiv.

This. They committed a lot of resources to the Kherson offensive, and the losses are quite serious. It's still going despite visible results, and it will continue for at least several weeks.

This, the ruse wasnt that the Kherson offensive was fake, it wasnt, the ruse is that Ukraine had ANOTHER offensive planned in Kharkov, they intelligently hid their true capabilities, and the russians, as egocentric and full of themselves as they are, truly believed the "little russians" didnt have the capabilities to perform two offensives at once, now they are paying dearly for their hubris

I figured that if I knew about a counteroffensive, it's was probably intentional to spread the word. But I'm wondering what Russia should/could have done differently. Surely they were aware that the ukranians might be baiting them into defending Kerhson, but at the same time they had to do something about it right?
Was it an unwinnable scenario and should they have just said "fuck it, we're not even going to waste time trying"?

there was a pattern of ukie strengh building up in kherson and it was critical for russians to send enough to keep a favorable ratio for them, the problem is they dont have unlimited manpower and this means they are running on fumes if they need more reinforcements elsewhere
      its a lose lose situation

I heard they transferred 25-30 BTGs to Kherson before shit started exploding

Well it's not like they said they gonna attack at one place and then attack at other, they attacked both. And kherson front doesn't crumble so fast exactly because vatniks send all their "good" units there.
It was either vatniks hold them at donbass and lose kherson or move them to kherson and lose both them and kherson but slower.

Did the Ukies deliberately time their attack when 50,000 Russian reservists were playing war in Vostok 2022?

      >More than 50,000 military personnel and over 5,000 units of weapons and military equipment, including 140 aircraft, 60 warships, boats, and support vessels, are engaged in the performance of combat training tasks.

do you think these numbers are inflated for propaganda to make it seem like they still have shit? I bet your picture is about 50% of everything thats currently at this year's event

It was not 50,000 it was less than 13,000 (from Russia and China and 2,000 from other countries like India) Of the 60 vessels reported to be part of this exercise only 8 actually deployed. 6 corvettes a supply ship and a missile observation ship. Sad sad Russia. https://youtu.be/VVntVzsxMUY

Absolutely. Putin is effectively out of the country, a lot of his reservist force is dicking around. It's a perfect time to attack.

And if Ukraine ramps up attacks on Russian locomotives and other logistics, it's gonna be hard for those 50,000 reservists to get into the fray any time soon.

It wouldnt surprise me, it seems the Ukis planned every detail of this operation

The OPSEC, bragging about the Kherson offensive months in advance, shaping the Kherson battlefield specifically to make it very hard for russia to pull out

If anything the Vostok thing was the most predictable part of all

Considering Putin micromanages the war, it is BEYOND embarrassing Ukraine outwitted a fucking SPY! It's a major stealth "Fuck You" to Putin.

        >"You're such a good spy? You couldn't even see this shit MONTHS in advance!"

Valeri is gonna get lots of victories for Christmas.
