Even without the internet, you should be smart enough to figure it out. If a single surgeon survives, and knows how to make ether (for anesthetic), then most of your common problems are solved.

It's called an open fracture when your bones poke through the skin. I experienced it. You have about 15 hours before the adrenaline wears off and you start to feel it.
This is why it's good to keep good wraps and various braces ect. In you survival stash. Sam splints are great. Your right you will never walk again properly. You should trap and not hunt anyway, less energy expended.

My point is, in this type of scenarios, healthy people will only survive. What you need to look for is terain, so imediate terain slope and vegetation, and rings around it again slope and vegetations, and try to understand the geology, sand, rocks ect... most of the time with sufficient info from that you can dig a hole and find water.

I'd probably be okay for at least a while. It really depends on the condition of the environment after whatever disaster happens. As long as it's not some decade long impact/volcanic winter, I can grow food. I don't live in an area that's predicted to be affected by fallout or nuclear plant meltdown, so radiation probably won't be a huge problem. Also, I live in an area with low population density and probably won't have to compete too heavily for resources after the collapse.

4. My parents are 15 minutes away on acerage and my Mum grows shit and has animals. Dad has even more guns. They live on a hill as well.
Not that Im a survival master just everyone else around will be fighting my family with their kitchen knives while we have guns and 4wds.
I have already trained for it. I used to live in a tent in the middle of a forest for a couple of years. Also, I have done long treks through the wilderness and forest, especially near dams, and know exactly where one could survive without being noticed by others. Also I am skilled with a hunting bow, machete, martial arts and basic bush craft. (train yourself even just a little in each category as it raises your chances of survival - most people are absolutely dumbfounded by just the basics)
The only problem is now I live with my mother and have 3 cats, and although I can teach my other family members how to survive, it would be a much more massive task of making sure all the family and our pets can obtain food. So my advice is, go for food security first and also store some potable clean water (I have a plastic barrel with a around 250 hundred liters / 66 gallons) just in case their is a widespread power failure and the water mains cannot operate.
From there you have a basis starting point to work from. You can either stay in the city and risk having to fight for resources, or you could move your food and equipment in a forest/wilderness near a damn or fresh lake and hide from desperate people who will fight to the death for what is left.

The problem isn't whether or not you have survival skills, the problem is that most people would die in the initial catastrophe including survivalist types. watch out for the bears. all food in the wild must be thoroughly boiled or very very well salted and dried. especially mushrooms. always boil them before you eat them. most poisonous mushrooms become inert after being boiled. also.. don't bring women with you. she will only be a burden and annoying. also they are stupid and will frick shit up so you will end up fixing it. but you can bring her if you want to use her for food later.. in case something happens and you run out of food. but watch out.. she can poison you first or stab you at night so don't think you are all that smart. you shouldn't have brought her there in the first place, but if you do.. just keep her on a chain in some hole and reduce your contact with her to minimum
