How many of you got into guns from vidya?

Gran Turismo made many an PrepHoletist, how many of you got into shooting because of games?
The new CoD gunsmith seems neat, you start with a receiver and build around it, make an AR15, 9, or 10. Will this put the armatards on suicide watch?

this game in no way competes with arma, they're trying to compete with tarkov, also sage

this thread is literally an advertisement. COD shills have been doing it on this board for many years. but so have BF shills, ARMA shills, etc

I don’t think many people even know about Arma these days. When people talk about “hardcore, ‘gritty’ shooters” they’re only ever talking about casual garbage like Tarkov or Hell Let Loose. Arma is too autistic for them, not to mention that Arma and COD are at the opposite ends of a spectrum

Tarkov is "hardcore" but it's so broken and people sweat so hard that the top players can fucking bunny hop around corners to kill you now

          >Tarkov

          >even "hardcore"
moron it is CoD with extra steps for tryhard shiteaters to feel better about themselves. Niggita convincing so many people that Tarkov is somehow realistic or hardcore is a sole success of BSG.

don't try anon, casualtards only understand grafeeex = realism

That's why they Arma turned into a zombie survival/RP fuckfest instead of the company maneuver simulator it was supposed to be

I like tarkov, but the game is a joke. Consider the ballistics, identical projectiles hitting a target at the same speed will have hugely different results depending on the starting velocity
            >same cartridge fired from long vs short barrel (most extreme case is mp5sd with vented barrel to make standard ammo subsonic vs a long 9mm carbine)
            >at point blank range, both have the same damage/penetration, in spite up to 30% difference in muzzle velocity
            >at long range, the higher velocity round will perform worse because it loses a larger percentage of it's initial velocity

Not implying you think this, but the fact that people think "OMG AUTISTIC LEVELS OF GUN CUSTOMIZATION" is all that makes Tarkov a unique game confirms that they're incapable of actually enjoying Tarkov.

I got into guns (aka being old enough to own them/have the will to learn) when the riots started and I asked my dad and he said "yeah I'll take you to the range in town and we'll rent a pistol". That lead me to having my mother gift me a caniktp9da as my first pistol. Soon after that I got a m44 mosin all matching as my first rifle.

I'd argue movies have done more to harm 2A as well. So many brainlets getting info from action movies and using that to inform their opinions on gun laws. If you think I'm full of shit, look at the prohibited list in Canada, specifically the fact that the G11 is on the list

Medal of Honor and Call of Duty got me into WW2 guns. I didn't buy a gun becuase of that though, I bought my first gun becuase my neighbour suddenly threatened to kill everyone in my house. Being in CA, the only gun I could find to pick up locally that day on calguns without a wait was a Mosin (Private sales without background check was allowed on c&r long guns back then).
I've been mostly buying up guns I loved from CoD ever since (not all of them are period specific though. Some of post war production like French made K98 or Japanese made M1 Carbines). I've stopped buying surplus guns now though, since I'm more focus on modern guns for matches and defense. I occasionally will bring the old WWII guns out to shoot, but some I haven't shot in years.

Nah. The guy just usually holed up in his unit. He called the cops on me twice, claiming I was running a whore house and meth lab. Landlord didn’t kick him out immediately, since she didn’t want to deal with the lease breaking paperwork or whatever, but ended up not renewing the lease.
Only time I might have been justified using the gun was when he was kicking my door, but I didn’t have the gun yet.
