With Mykolaiv back in Ukrainian hands, it has access to the shipbuilding site that built the Moskva.
It is a hilarious irony that "The flagship of the Russian navy" was actually Ukrainian. Typical Vatniks always stealing things that don't belong to them.
Decades, navies are extremely slow and expensive to build, they can afford neither right now.
I think they'll get anti-ship missiles, drone boats and and airforce well before they worry about a navy.
The Ukraina sits in the shipyard, awaiting final construction.

A single cruiser which we have already estabilished can be killed by a few AShMs costs ~$750m or ~10 F-35As or ~100 Abrams. It's just not the smart money right now.
The exact question was "How long?".
I'm still going with ~20 years. When the enemy you are worried about shares a boarder with you power projection isn't a priority.
Ukraine relies heavily on agricultural exports on a global scale. That means commerce ships open to Russian attack.
Solved by 10 F-35As than can not only sink ships but also control airspace, run CAS, run SEAD ect.
Flying out in the middle of the ocean? They're going to need small carriers at least.
The Black Sea isn't the Pacific Ocean, Odesa to Istanbul is half the F-35s combat radius.
I get you have a hardon for ships but they don't matter in a tiny pond.
I've been thinking for a while that the African Union should get their own navy, use their ships to buy grain from Ukraine and ship it back, if monke attacks those ships he'll be attacking the African Union.
It’s been sitting there for 30 years, there’s no way finishing that would be worth it. It’s probably already basically a wreck. They previously announced they would scrap it but I mean, they’re a bit busy right now. A lot better to keep workers in the ammo factories and everything else needed to run the country.
>can afford neither right now
I mean, the West will flood Ukraine with money and investments after the war
With Ukraine's navy almost completely non-existent, that's a LOT of defense contracts. And Ukraine's own shipyards will ramp up production due to the obvious lingering threat of Vatnik barbarians on the border.
Ukraine will need a sizeable navy post-war though. Russia and Ukraine will have serious bad blood. Russians will try again one day to conquer Ukraine.
>How long before Ukraine begins rebuilding
In order to cause extra seethe to vatniks and cum/chug/gers remind them that those billions are a tiny fraction of the US mil budget. The mutts are wiping out what was once their greatest rival for what is essentially the pennies they found between their fat rolls
>With Mykolaiv back in Ukrainian hands...
Russians never controlled it, you couldnt even check this before making that moronic thread. It will take decades and fleet clearly wont be top priority, at best some gunboats-corvettes will be bought elsewhere
They technically occupied Mykolaiv (The District). They just didn't get the capital. I admit it confuses me since most if not all US state capitals have a different name than the state they are in (Atlanta, Georgia; Columbia, South Carolina, etc.).
> I admit it confuses me since most if not all US state capitals have a different name than the state they are in
you are making a fundamental mistake by comparing the administrative divisions of unitary states (ukraine, russia) with an actual federation (usa)
I like the poetry of Ukrainians bringing it into this world, and taking it out of this world.
>How long before Ukraine begins rebuilding its navy again?
Never. The ukies had a tango class diesel submarine that sunk while moored in port. They modern shipbuilding consists of tiny patrol vessels with 30 mm guns. Uncle schlomo tried to build them up before the war by transferring obsolete ships from the coast guard. Perry class frigates were also planned to be transferred but the war happened before that.
The thing is, ukieland is a israeli extraction society, and any money spent on its military is one hrvina that cannot be transferred to bahamas or the brit channel islands.
don't they have some now completed Frigates on order that they can't take possession of because pool's closed?
Turkey and the UK have already begun building it on commission
I wish Ukraine hadn't jumped the gun and scuttled their modern frigate. Even if they couldn't sail, it would force Russia to try costly attacks against and incur losses. Like the Tirpitz in WW2 never did anything of value but the allies kept trying to blow it up for years.
I can see Ukrane getting some Russian naval units as a compensation,if they win the war. I guess it's still a thing
