The "we intentionally designed the barrel this way" cope is hilarious because it's essentially admitting russia designed a barrel that always curves when it heats up.

To preempt blueprint posters who post drawings they don’t know how to read, no the drawings do not show the round parts of the barrel being off center.
They show the triangular section along the gas tube.

Drill bits wander off center when they get dull or if the feedrate is too high. This is metal shop 101, anon.

What do you mean how is this possible? Do you want to know the logistics of drilling a hole? They did that but wrong.

OP isn't asking how to frick up a barrel blank. He's asking how a fricked-up barrel finds its way onto a fully-assembled military vehicle without anyone noticing or caring.

There is not a single piece of evidence proving it's passed quality assurance inspection and was not a second away from being chucked in the scrap metal bin.
There is not a single piece of evidence proving it's even Russian at all. It might as well been made in Germany.
Someone literally uploaded this image on the internet with a caption of his own design with literally no evidence to back it up.
        You're literally falling for propaganda.

All the more reason to believe it. There is almost a perfect 1:1 correlation between how true something is, and how hard Russians shill, seethe, and/or cope.

        [citation needed]
It's been several days now and no one's found anything even slightly resembling a source, explanation or description. It just appeared "spontaneously" on the internet one day by multiple Ukrainian mouthpieces, who all apparently can't be bothered to explain where they got this picture from or the context behind it.

A section of the barrel is milled. That’s the off center section your drawings show.
