How good is aguila 22 LR ammo? How are they in 22 rifles/pistols? Any problems beside smelling like shit?

      Especially something for a Ruger 10/22 or a s&w m&p15-22?

        Yeah I would think so.

I'd want minimag equivalents for the Smith. 40 gr, and round abouts 1200 fps. It would probably shoot it, but I'd guess not well.

Isn't there a certain 22 LR brand that causes problems for pistols?

I like it. I hunt squirrels with it. I've shot two groundhogs with it and both dropped in one shot. The wax on the bullet is very "sticky", almost like a nearly dried grease and gets in mags and where the bullets rub (eg. feed ramps, etc). It's dirty as hell with all the junk and carbon it puts in your gun but accurate enough to hunt small game with out to 50-70 yards or so at the very minimum.

            ???

Worse than Armscor but better than Remington Thunderbolt.

I only ever feed my 10/22 CCI or Federal.

So what is quality 22 ammo from best to worst? Atm, I got CCI stinger, Remington 525 golden and CCI standard velocity target.

cci minimags are reliable in my p22 as well if you don't want to try to get stingers

It's OK. It's dirty, and a few of my .22s don't play well with the wax coating they use. My 41 absolutely hates it, my rugers eat it fine, although they eat everything.

It's pretty similar to Winchester Whitebox. Maybe a bit better. Not as good as CCI branded stuff.

My guns like it which is great because a 250rd box is $19 while CCI minimags are $15 for 100rd.
It smells kinda funny though, something to keep in mind if you got a gun thats really gassy for some reason.

So if I want to have fun with it, I should get a rossi RS22?

        Anonymous

You can, but those are kinda crappy even by cheap 22 rifle standards.

No one should get a Rossi RS22. Buy a Savage 64F like every other cheap redneck on the planet with 300 bucks in his pocket and a 170 buck hankering for beer.

          >Savage 64F
It's... fine. You'd be better off getting a used 10/22 for a little more

honestly I've had nothing but great luck with standard velocity and their super extra I where I've had a few hangups or duds on CCI of all brands so I honestly love Aguila have ~4k of it and some randoms stock up

Well sorry anon. I been hearing shit about certain 22s not being good for certain guns, especislly handguns if I decide yo buy a ruger lcp in 22 lr or whatever.

I've been running it by the case through my shitty HP22A (which needs standard-velocity ammo or it'll crack) and my old pre-ban Marlin 60. I've had one dud primer and no hangfires out of around 700 rounds. It's filthy and it stinks but it works more reliably than Federal for me.

Smoky and stinky but it works

It's absolutely filthy ammo, I've never had reliability problems with it.

The distinctive smell is from Aguila using the Eley priming compound formula. Their yellow and blue box standard velocity .22 is good quality. I shoot rimfire silhouette matches between 25 and 100yds with it. I also like the 60gr subsonics because they’re close to silent in longer barrels

I shoot a lot of 22s and I mean a lot. aguila is on par with CCI. In semis it always cycles. I buy CCI first, but i have no problem with running agulia.

I like it a lot, honestly. It smells a bit odd but I find it highly reliable, and accurate. It runs reliably in all my semis, with or without suppression.

    >usually use CCI
    >coof frickening happens
    >can't find CCI
    >only choices are Winchester wildcats and aguila
    >aguila is cheaper
    >pic related is the result
I buy them in bulk now, my JW15 feeds them perfectly and they're surprisingly accurate for what you pay.

Kek that's the only reason I bought them as well.
      >love me Federal .22
      >Blazer is OK but have very little
      >buy a frickton of Federal
      >da coof
      >out of Federal or getting uncomfortably low
      >can't find shit
      >find Aguila 38gr .22 in 250rd and 500rd boxes
      >find Aguila 5.56 (the only 5.56, and cheap)
      >never go back
But JW15? The Norinco? Lucky anon; you Canadian or is it an older import? I want some Norinco guns but rarely see them.

If you can get it cheap its okay, expect 1-2% failure to fires due to primer compound not being manufactured correctly. sometimes there isnt any inside the case or it has disintegrated from the rim.

I've shot a fair bit of it out of my 10/22, it's pretty mid-range reliability wise. As long as you get em cheap and don't mind the slightly off smelll they're fine
