.22 is one of the most used cartridges in murders, so pretty effective. If you want something more comprehensive, I recommend Paul Harrell's videos on youtube.
Something interesting to note is a video by GarandThumb on the effective ranges of .22.
While not very accurate and definitely not something you should use for most serious purposes, it can definitely get the job done, theoretically speaking.
that's because .22s are small and cheap, not because they're super effective. just to clarify .22 can totally kill somebody but it is certainly not ideal.

This is just as big a boomer meme as "it's extra lethal because it bounces around inside the person/animal!" Someone posted the actual caliber data of murders and .22 was barely even on the list. .223 killed more but it must've been a mass shooting season.

I think Mossad used some beretta mod 70 pistols in 22lr for assasinations (after the Munich massacre) because they produce a much quieter (but still loud) bang making it more likely somebody will mistake it for construction, firecrackers or hooliganism. >It can go through the thickest part of the skull, >It can reach the heart,
It is lethal, cheap, available even in cucked c**tries
Guns are easily improvised for it ( check the Luty)
From my experience still huntig 22lr subsonics from a rifle (unsupressed) are barely noticable in the middle of the night (no background noise) innawoods at 200yards (heard a friend take a shot at something), granted the area had lots of bushes around to dampen the noise but my friends hunting still is elevated above them so it is quite stealthy even unsupressed
Shot placement is always the most important factor in any shot. The thing is though that if you have a bigger and faster projectile the amount of areas you can hit and kill increases. A 22 can and will kill you if you hit the right spot but any other larger round will do it in more places from farther away and faster. A 22 is "effective" if you use the most bare bones watered down definition of the word but its the least useful and the last resort.
>left wing 40+ y/o incel >your murder victims literally laugh at you in your singular moment of rage after an impotent life >walk into cuckshed and kill self after
That murder was the most telling piece of media about the absolute state of early xoomers
Recoil is non-existant. Long rifles in the caliber are light, cheap, add 3-400fps, and most importantly, make it very easy to hit who you are aiming at for even the untrained. An old cop who worked Topeka his entire career said he never worked a long rifle .22 shooting that didn't end up a homicide.
Before anyone gets irate, if manual action .357/.38s were cheaper and more prolific, they'd be just as bad or worse. But 22lr is, for good or ill, cheap as it gets and still gud 'nuff to murder the frick out of someone.
25acp is a weak piece of shit but at least it is not rimfire
22lr "can kill" but it is unreliable
What is the best of both worlds option?
is 5.7mm the best we got?
Eet weel keel
>it kills more people per year than all the other calibers combined

just shoot them in the eye so it bounces around the skull and does more damage than a forty five
Then why is the standard us infantry rifle chambrred in it? The army would know a bit about killing people, no?

.22lr bounce around 100% death round
SHOT PLACEMENT IS KING
You can kill someone with a .22 air rifle if you shot the right spot.
literally who?
Read it kid
"I don't like Mondays. (Tell me why)
I don't like Mondays. (Tell me why)
I'm gonna shoo-o-o-oot,
The whole day down!"
Could a .22lr kill a Boomtown Rat?
It is very effective but /k/ is full of tourists who swear it is one step above harsh language and that .22s magically bounce off skin
Who this girl is?
it'll bounce around on their insides and turn it to mashed potatoes.
