Whites normally have brains and money to buy these things especially when police departments are offloading them dirt cheap. Also we know 3D printers and ghost guns are a thing.

I remember stories about Soviet supply officers in Afghanistan selling automatic grenade launchers to the Taliban. I suppose it's a bit different here since they're not selling to the enemy "just" feeding the civilian black market but it doesn't seem like a good thing.

There is such an vast amount of "stuff" that only serially tracked items or stuff with a strict paper trail (no reason for that with consumables and garments) lend themselves to tight supply discipline. Monetarily it's nothing. Twenty grand isn't squat in industry either, those numbers only impress the desperately poor.

Clerical errors are inevitable too because the system is so vast. Then there's surplus shit that's excess to authorized inventory and for which there is no paperwork, say after returning from deployment where stuff came from all over and was packed quickly by troops with important shit to care about. If you have a pallet of woobies unaccounted for and mixed with other shit the cost effective smart thing to do is hand out woobies. Repeat for all sorts of uniform items which if they've been used cannot be returned nor should they be. A lot of the items turned in by separating members just accumulate then are up for grabs by any unit wanting them. We used to get pallets of lightly used gear from Fort Jackson all the time then free issued it to our guys.

            Anonymous

I'd like a crate of missing woobies myself...

I really should have accepted more when they were handed out. Woobies are fricking brilliant. I'd I'd been into hammocking I'd have made a double Woobie underquilt and much more.

Thanks to Sig's ingenious cost-cutting measures at their Indian manufacturing plants, these pistols are easy to store in pockets by simply snapping them in half. However, usually the random NDs will apprehend the culprits by shooting them in the legs until they can be detained.

Your second world shithole didn't do that and it's why Western airsofters are wearing Russian gear.

Because the military isn't the same as it was even 10 years ago and it was a jenga tower with half of the support gone to begin with. People think that the government that spends billions of dollars on shit must have the most intelligent and professional organizations when the reality it's all israelites stealing your money and giving you a half ass service to begin with.

      Anonymous

      >Because the military isn't the same as it was even 10 years ago

You were never in the US military you cow-worshipping shit-gargling gasworthy wog.
IRL in the good old days there was less anality about making excess shit disappear especially before the services became highly automated. (My career spanned green screen Unix terms through 2007 so this is not speculation.)

The military always leaked a little, sometimes a lot, and especially shit no one wanted to hassle with trying to fit back into Supply like HazMat. When inspection time came it was far easier to make paint, lube etc whose box had been opened disappear.

Unless senior leadership got absurdly greedy and actually ordered items for themselves it was easier for all concerned not to care. After all the labor to turn random crap in to DRMO it would sell for pennies to auction buyers making the process a waste of effort.

It doesn't matter nor did it previously. A few pistols more or less in the US is nothing unlike places where butter knives require royal sanction and can only be passed on by act of Parliament. There are many Anons who have more than that under their beds.

        Anonymous

Bro there is a difference between some hazmat suit going missing vs double digits of guns. One is going on ebay, the other is going to the cartel and gang bangers. Corruption should be stamped out immediately as soon as it pops up.

          Anonymous

You have no idea where it's going nor does anyone outside the theft or investigation therefor. The thief may well be burying under his Ted shack. Of course it should be prosecuted but in what alternate universe is that volume of weapons significant?

Cartels can buy all they want. Bangers can straw man all they want and have more than enough money to not bother with catching Federal charges buying ex-mil leftovers. Double-digits is what, a couple trap house worth? Most banger violence is against their own deserving cohorts so their deaths and most of their competition they kill are good news not bad. If the US didn't want organized crime it would reduce the incentives instead of making it more profitable than otherwise.

The number of privately held weapons in the US weighs more than the personnel of many armies, and that's just the ones statisticians know about. It's glorious. Whole armories could vanish into Detroit or Chiraq without a burp, so long as they don't get missiles.

It used to be that in Canada, if your shooting club was situated on a military range then you could borrow the military’s FALs and Browning hi powers. Basically just sign it out, and eventually someone took a Browning Hi Power without signing it out and it was never returned

Why would a tiny number of pistols even be background noise? That's not enough to impress a (non-moronic) child. Serious people with serious money buy the local police and army then get the weapons AND the trained shooters. Even a brownshill like yourself should be able to figure out that hundreds of millions of dollars have serious throw weight.

  30. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

idk, how would you lose them (if you had them)?

      Anonymous

Depends on how you got them and one would have to be current on all the regs and have a personal knowledge of how often such things were inventoried, who by, and how to circumvent any outside inspections. For the modest profit involved and the legal liability it's really rather stupid. If you want weapons to sell the smart way would be straw purchases or a proxy with an FFL.

  31. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

There is a lot of stupid info in this thread about Army weapons going missing.

    The Army will:
-Anally grill the unit/commander/chain of command that lost it.
-The unit will make amazing, painful efforts to find it on their own, especially something that can kill somebody or is serially-numbered.
-MPs/CID WILL startan investigation, and unless the thief was the Moriarty of teh Arms Room (they aren't) and not too much time has passed, they usually WILL find the person who did it.

While stuff does go missing all the time, SERIOUS shit like weapons is a big deal, and the amount of it happening in the US military is a drop in the bucket compared to someplace like Russia.
