How do (you) keep up with the war in Ukraine

I have recently become interested in actively following the war in Ukraine. The problem is I am moronic and do not know were to get the latest news (and epic drone trick shots). Also, is there like an archive of the coolest vids from the war. I would greatly appreciate being spoon fed this information.

Go to RT, russian approved telegrams or any honest, non-russophobic source for news on the SMO.

ISW has the latest verified maps, intel and analysis, and while it gets extremely weedy, there are also links and information about their sources you can check out.
there's a lot of shit labeled OSINT on social media, there are I think 3-4 are worthwhile sources and literally every other one is a paid shill, you'll figure which is which PDQ

        combat footage on reddit

        Thank you for the answers

there are 2 generals on /misc/
        >one is racist and anti-Semitic
        >the other is LGBT friendly and supports Ukraine
While they both have lots of webms, the first one has lots of archived videos and news sources

I haven't been to /misc/ since 2020 kinda went to shit but thanks I'll check it out

Twitter or telegram is probably the best. Honestly the war is moving so slow a lot of the good osint guys rarely post anymore because the frontlines barely move. It's mostly just vids that all start to bleed together. There are a few good accounts I'm aware of on Twitter if you're interested.

These are all neutral to pro-Ukie so do with it what you will
          @emilkastehelmi -> Finish defense analyst
@AndrewPerpetua -> osint autist but catalogs virtually every loss on both sides
@Tatarigami_UA -> Ukie soldier but gives no BS takes about situation among soldiers
@GeoConfirmed -> autist collective that geolocate everything
@Rebel44CZ -> dude updating the oryx list
@DefMon3 -> Swedish boomer but good at vacuuming up info. Doesn't post much anymore
          War_Mapper -> good frontline updates
@OSINTua -> Ukie marine posting kino from repelled Russian assaults.
@bayraktar_1love -> Uke cheerleader but is connected with telegrams and citizens in occupied Ukraine. Don't trust analysis but pretty quick on the draw for videos about strikes in the Russian rear.

I don’t. The dudes who spend a lot of time and energy watching ukraine vs Russia content and fapping over soldiers getting killed seem to be very miserable incels who likely alienate everyone they’re around.

that's just what being online all-day does to you. Worst part is that people who are online allday make 90% of posts

      1) wait until the dust settles, then read then contemporary analysis of past events (easy to digest)
      2) follow multiple, verifiable, transparent, evidence-based publications. A few examples, not meant to be a comprehensive list, not endorsement:

I don't know how it got there, perhaps a fine source but I don't think they talk about Ukraine.
Here's a nice database instead, and I have been looking for a comparable OSINT database for Ukranian losses

I went there to see if they were talking about Kharkov, and there was virtually no footage or documentation worth noting. It was a spam fest of reaction macros and dumb memes that hold little sensibility outside of those specific generals.

While /k/ is definitely a pro ukraine board, it has consistently shown documentation, higher quality footage, and oodles of pics to back up ukie claims. What footage of russian victories that show up are only accepted after vicious screening by military autismos and sourly accepted. screengrabs are plentiful and will be used to mock hot takes from years prior.

Oh yes I remember reading some Strelkov's posts on here and being quite amused by them RIP

Thank you but I believe I should clarify myself what I am essentially looking for is slightly educational light entertainment. I do not care about being the most well informed upon all issues surrounding the war, I simply wish to read or watch something entertaining that keeps me just well informed enough to be able to follow along to an interesting conversation on the war if I so choose. Tbh it's probably not a good attitude to have about events that affect the whole world, but its probably going to shit no matter what I do.

      >slightly educational light entertainment
valgear is kinda like that. he existed pre invasion doing gear and weapon reviews. post invasion he still does them, but with lend lease and captured ruski gear

regardless of their political opinions and voting patterns, people on /k/ aren't so much innately pro-ukraine as much as they are viciously anti-russian. Vatnik stupidity on this board during the 2010s is what fostered such strong anti-russian feelings over here that for most of /k/, TZD provides some satisfaction.

You pretty much want his good sources. With anything Russian influenced you *need* to do the heavy lifting in order to do the light stuff and not end up moronic. They are trying to melt your brain always.

ISW for general news and analysis, DeepState UA for maps, Oryx and LostArmour for casualties, whole bunch of OSINT twitter account of various quality for fresh updates, a few military related Facebook groups in my local language, Telegram channel for TZD kino, memes and keeping eye on zigger narrative.

Last year I also spent some time in Kyiv and in June I'm traveling to Odesa, Mykolaiv and maybe Kherson just to talk to people and witness things first hand.
Whats funny, I discovered that I already maxxxed my zigger hate - being bombed by them couldn't make me hate them more as I apparently reached the limit even before that.

sometimes i watch a german guy that makes frequent podcast retelling what happened the last few days in every little town in the front. (his chanel is military & history) its cool because he tries to downplay propaganda and tries to have visual evidence for every claim

Sometimes the telegraph podcast autoplays after that and they are clowns compared with german no humour guy

NOELreports on twitter is a great account if you just want to follow general live updates for the war (both political and military). Hes generally pretty quick and accurate, and does a weekly sitrep where he summarizes all the news.

if you want much more in depth probably stuff like ISW is your thing

The "inside russia" guy had been on point the whole war. He's a very big doomer for russia so he probably oversells Ukraines efforts and undersells the few things Russia does get right.
    Still very insightful.
Then I like to watch a subtitled episode of Solvyov just for the madness of it. His shills guests and his ranting became pretty deranged and more fanatical in the last few weeks but I have no idea if that means anything.
The silicon courtain guy is interesting, because he clearly is fond telling stories an not just let his guest talk and meander on. His guests range from great to random ukie that has a webcam.
I wish Perun was interesting but he somehow started to bore me.
