How do you hunt mammals?

>killed a snake with a shovel
>choked a chicken
>bonked a fish
How can you guys bring yourselves to hunt mammal friends though? Deers and bears look so majestic. I could never pull the trigger on one.

The first time I went hunting was as an adult, I took a .22 out to see if I could bag any small game. First animal I ever killed was a squirrel. I whiffed the shot due to nerves and watched the poor thing writhe around in the snow, squealing in pain as it's intestines poured out. I missed the follow up mercy shot. I fried him and ate with hot sauce chicken wing style.
2/10 traumatic incident and tough meat.
Second time hunting I head shot a grouse with a .22. Whole roasted with Montreal steak spice and some potatoes.
9/10 fun times and delicious bird.
Gotten fairly used to the violence of it now but still have emotions over it.

I like meat and its healthier meat than the factory farmed cows and pigs at Monstano Farming Corp.

Anyway you basically hide in a tree or a blind until you see one walk by then you shoot it with a bow, crossbow, or gun.

Once you shoot you you watch where it goes then wait 15 minutes or so and walk over and look for some blood like this then try to follow the trail

Rabbits are fricking stupid and it's funny to watch them die. I don't enjoy cutting them up, but as long as I'm eating farmed meat, I think it's important to be more in touch with where my food comes from.

I imagine your first deer kill makes you realize just how fricked up and evil factory farming is. I've yet to do it.

It’s funny as a hunter I probably have more in common with vegans than they realize between hating factory farming and caring about accessible public land and conservation and preservation of healthy ecosystems but they can’t look past “he kill fluffy animal”.

Yeah, because when you plow a field to grow produce you don’t kill every mile, every snake, every mouse, every bunny, every groundhog.

      They’re just ignorant I think

I am a vegetarian who's very selective about the animal products I do consume and I agree with you. Lots of vegetarians and vegans out there who don't see the nuance. The older I get the more I shift away from "being perfect" and towards "doing better" or "reducing harm." I'd rather eat a single moose all winter than grains that get shipped thousands of miles from some massive field of no biodiversity sprayed with pesticides. To me that's as or more revolting as a city. But I also have a primal reaction to killing a mammal that I can't ignore, even if it's not rational, I just don't make it everyone else's problem or lose the forest for the trees.

They really are ignorant. It's like they learn about factory farming and then lump in hunting, fishing, etc. with that evil shit. They don't really care because if they did they would eventually consider the things you said. They just want the status of "I'm a good person" so they have this weird mutual agreement that 'if you're a vegan like me we're both suuuch good people'

Easy, deer and coyote are a plague around here. It's open season for yotes and unlimited bag limit for deer during rifle season. I am so sick of deer meat I just shoot them for fun and use the rest for coyote bait.

I live somewhere with tons of wolves and they have absolutely fricked the ecosystem up. Entire areas comprising thousands of acres that are completely devoid of any life at all due to wolves indiscriminately killing everything. Theyre one of the few animals that kill just for sport and not just food.

But fish and game wont admit it because it goes counter to their narrative. Youre either baiting or an idiot...id say both

nature is not balanced. It is chaotic and in a constant state of flux. 99.99% of species of animals and plants that have ever existed went extinct long before primates ever existed.

the most ethical kill would be to take down a mature or older critter. taking a young buck or calf just seems fricked to me. although I do enjoy lamb meat. and I believe hunting is not only healthier eating but also better for the environment.

The thrill of the stalk/hunt mindset takes over. Only after the shot do I remember that I am an emotional femoid and I start to feel really bad and wonder if I should go vegetarian. Then I eat the meat I ethically harvested myself and remember some of the reasons why I wanted to hunt in the first place.

Sorry mate, married, borderline overweight, and getting older/unattractive. Point is that even females (moreso than trannies, who spend all of their time on twitter/gaybook) can hunt and butcher. Its not difficult but there is a learning curve. There are a few other female hunters in my area, seems to be growing in popularity for both sexes alongside loss of confidence in the system.

UP of Michigan introduced wolves and the DNR won't let people hunt them but they're killing livestock up there. Based farmers are shooting them anyway.

I would take a wolf for the pelt. Not sure if I'd try the meat.

I mean hunting is a lot more moral than factory farming.
Wild mammals are living the way nature intended them up until the moment you pull that trigger. They choose where they go, eat what they want, and even choose their breeding partners.
However a majority of meat consumed in the world comes from massive factory farms where most animals live in cramped metal barns and hardly ever see the light of day until they're loaded onto a truck to get tied down and their heads lobbed off.
It's really easy to be unaware of those practices especially since you just go to the store and get that meat already cut up for you. Pulling that trigger is tough the first few times but it's important to realize that whatever you hunted had a much higher quality of life and as long as you're a half decent hunter they don't suffer.

      Anonymous

And that is the reasonwhy you are qcting unmoral.

Free animals deserve to live their lives free because we alreasy domesticated animals for the purpose of feeding us. If you go to the house of wild animals (woods) to kill them you are the one to blame. A different thing would be that we diid not have millilns of farms and had to rely on hunting.

The quicker you can dress them the sooner you will stop seeing a dead animal and instead a feed. If you've never done it do it with someone else first
