    >How do you cope
It varies. For some people very light white noise helps. Obviously protect your ears very carefully going forward, hearing damage is cumulative. Certain foods/vitamins may make it better or worse. You'll have to experiment.
    >or cure
There is none yet though research is ongoing and there has been some cool experimental stuff developed in the last 5 years. There might be a genuine cure for at least type 2 by the end of the decade.

Hope for A.I. to help medical science enough to find a cure. Hope it doesn't evolve into Meniere's disease (Degenerative ear disease with a combination of three symptoms which are tinnitus, sudden vertigo, and hearing loss).
But as far as I know, if there are some (extremely expensive) surgeries one can have depending on the tinnitus one got. Joe Rogan did one, I'd recommend you search that out. But it is not going to be cheap; the inner ear falls into the realm of neurosurgery and you can imagine how much that costs. If you can get it done in Mexico or other countries with good professionals like Brazil or Argentina, probably you'd get it on the cheaper. Do your research. I had a surgery done in Latam that would have bankrupted me in the States, but the plane ticket ended up costing me more.

The one potential cure is using stem cells to bring back hearing and such.

I asked an AI what the cure was and it said either micro-surgery to remove, replace, or repair broken/bent inner ear hairs. Alternatively it suggested that something like Neuralink would most likely be able to simply block your brain from hearing it.

        > said either micro-surgery to remove, replace, or repair broken/bent inner ear hairs.
That sounds insane. Even if that were possible, tinnitus can still occur anywhere from that, to the pathway, and even your brain.
        Yeah. The brain.

Go completely deaf and the noise stops.

There was a case of a dead woman who got tinnitus and it was so bad she killed herself. Other people also an hero’d due to such a condition.

It depends on the type of tinnitus you have. There are several kinds. If it's neurological, that might be all you hear after you go deaf.

The trippiest kind is "objective tinnitus", where if someone puts a stethoscope over your ear, they can hear the tinnitus too.

I had musical tinnitus once. Thought someone was playing music in the middle of the night and when I reloaded what it was I freaked out and it eventually faded away. I pray it doesn’t return. Fucking hell it was dreadful.

Im 90% certain I got mine from not covering my ears during those stupid fucking fire drills back in middle school. Honestly, they need to stop that shit or turn off the fucking blaring noise that are insanely fucking loud and damaging to little kids' hearing. The fucking clueless teachers were too fucking stupid to understand the long term impact of of it too.

Well, invade of an emergency it’s best to have such alarms be loud. Although it’s best not give people hearing damage.

Are you telling me we should start reproducing with frogs?

I've found menthol style rubs - icyhot whatever the right term for it is, amazing for the whole gate control theory about pain management. Completely removed the back spasms I had. It makes me think some neuralink that always introduces ambient white noise if the outside db is too low (to cover up the tinnitus) might be the trick.

I always have a fan on in my room even before I started to have mild tinnitus. I think it's unnatural to be sleeping in a room that's utterly silent. Cave-man times and you'd have wind rustling and wild animals beyond the fire, civilized time and you'd have animals and your family members in the room. Every little creak and step and sound outside the room gets magnified in the absence of some white noise.

Are you telling me we should start reproducing with frogs?

Yeah everybody gets a required githyanki girlfriend.

Go to an ear and throat doctor, he'll give you some medicine that'll reduce it a little bit, but what really worked for me is meditation before bed.
Before going to sleep, lay in bed and relax your whole body, then focus on the sound of your tinnitus while relaxing every part of your body, starting from the feet and up to your head, after a while you'll be fully relaxed and fall asleep.
Do this every day and your brain will start to associate the tinnitus sound with relaxation, which, while not making the sound go away, will make it way less disturbing and stressful.

I have a mild case due me not wearing earplugs at my job like I should have. After a decade of babying my hearing with earplugs for anything involving a constant droning noise (vacuums, power tools, etc) I've gotten it to the point where it's not noticable most of the time, and even when it is noticable it doesn't really bother me anymore.

This trick has only ever worked for me when I have a sudden bad flare up due to stress, helps me get rid of it in a hurry. I don't cover my ears or do that finger flick method thing, I just tilt my head a bit and smack the soft part of the neck under the skull towards the side that is ringing. The most stubborn instances actually require me to hit hard enough to make the ringing even louder, then it goes away after. Weird stuff.

This worked very well for like 10-15seconds, then returning to normal over the next couple mins, darnit, got my hopes up.
Doesnt seem worth it unless i felt like having a continuous argument with my tinnitus, doing it over and over, but that would obviously be more annoying than the tinnitus itself.

I was ruined before I was even old enough to drive. No one used hearing protection when we shot guns. Dozen people shooting at the gravel pit? Nope not then. 3 solid hours of blasting geese? I have mildish tinnitus from years of being an auto mechanic and not wearing hearing protection enough around pneumatic tools. Also from listening to heavy metal at disgusting loud volumes, and going to metal concerts. It sucks, but it doesn't affect me much. I already slept with a fan, so that drowns out the noise. And at other times of the day I am either watching TV, reading, or doing something that occupies the ears and/or mind ... so again, not an issue. The only time it really annoys me is sitting in a quiet room, which when does that ever happen? I mean, meditating would suck, but I don't meditate so who gives a fuck? It has lessened over time, and I noticed it's not as bad when my ears are very clean of ear wax. So keep your ears clean, but don't use q-tips and jam the wax in further, which makes it worse. Hot water shot into the ears with a syringe is the best way to clean your ears.
