prevent mentally ill people from getting in, i went through basic with a schizo who had multiple episodes, a low functioning autistic c**t, another schizo who tried to kill himself (actual future pyle), and woman who was bipolar and a pathological liar...jk just average woman in the military.

This isn't the issue. The problem is hazing culture and the lack of ability to be honest about what goes on in your brain cage to get help or learn to cope.

You are throwing a bunch of strangers together into a high stress situation for an extended period of time. A lot of those individuals have probably never been in that situation or under that amount of stress and therefore have no mechanisms to protect their mental wellbeing.

I got really good at lying to shrinks and myself which lead to bad suicide attempts after 13 years of near iron willed service. Yes we need stronger standards because we need to stop being in the industry of creating broken people after their service. It all starts with being allowed to learn how to cope in training.

Seems like a decent service life for a high performance part before replacement.

I'd have gone longer if I didn't have a skin graft. The mental toll was after. We need soldiers to be able to confront and honestly deal with the things that enter their brains on an honest level. We burn and churn people so much faster than what I experienced. I've seen good tactical and intelligent soldier in fighting shape crumble to not facing troubled thoughts.

BH is a joke in the army, especially if you have any sort of security clearance or are in aviation.

        >Hey doc I'm not feeling so great, just feel anxious and a little depressed and thought I could talk to someone.
        >Immediate downslip.

These. Just screen tards in MEPS and 90% of these issues are stopped before they can begin.

Stop hazing people and make their living conditions better.

      Also this.

Because that has stopped people from lying about anything at MEPS. You are trying to solve the problem with the system that created the problem.

It takes a good guy with a gun to stop an insane incel with a gun. Turns out, there's a frickton of good guys with guns in the army. Not a big issue, never has been. Something like one incident every ten years or so.

Soldiers will ALWAYS be able to get access to guns and shoot themselves. It’s trivially easy to pocket a round, take your M4 to the porta-potty/latrine and Kurt Kobain yourself. There’s still a bullet hole in one of the latrines at Benning because an officer at IBOLC shot himself. (Never understood this because if I wanted to kill myself I’d blow my brains out in the comfort of my own home)

The real way to stop this is to change the toxic culture of the army, stop hazing, improve quality of life for soldiers. There’s a reason why retention is so fricking bad in all levels of the military

Any soldier that can't accept a low standard of living or a little hazing have no business being a soldier.

The fact is most soldiers have no internal fortitude, or sense of service.

Y'know, they said the same about PTSD. That it was "Due to a lack of moral fiber". In fact it was the more moral and upstanding individuals that were hit the hardest simply because violence is so outside their wheelhouse.

Hazing has it's place but it shouldn't be done by your fellow soldiers. That just destroys Espirit de Corp. Hazing is best done by drill instructors or Aggressor units. Someone who's job it is to antagonize recruits.

You keep weapons away from boots save when they need them. Generally basic's job is to weed out the head-cases anyway, and it's pretty good at it. They aren't wanted so they don't really try to keep them. A few slip through the cracks and succeed in offing themselves but honestly it's a small figure and they weren't of any value anyway.

Well...based on the onslaught of mandatory homosexual, pronoun seminars, rainbow flags shoved in their faces and state sanctioned anti-White racism....I see this happening on a large scale in the ZOGbot military. Of course, we'll never hear about it.

I have not once in my entire career, going on 9 years, had to sit through a pronoun seminar, or had a gay flag shoved in my face, or dealt with any 'anti-white racism'. You are fighting a made up culture war.

      Stop falling for PSYOPs.

        >The gay flag only flies at a few barracks on my base. It's not shoved in my face or anything
        >It was just a seminar about understanding White privilege not any sort of "anti-white racism"
        >3/4 of my bosses are black and half are black women but they were the best people for the job
        >It's true that White racist domestic terrorists are the biggest threat to the United States.

I had a female LT put a up gay pride on the officers common area at OCS, but before she did that she put gave all us candidates a warning that it was just for pride for month and not to force gay shit on us. She was a cute LT.

Things like Genesis are actually doing a lot to prevent spergs from lying to MEPS so that they can join. It's also raping recruiting quotas but thats more a function of most kids being over prescribed medication.
