Normally I'd agree but this spaz would just drill through his PSP.

Spray some WD40 on the head and wait for it to seep into the threads

homie do you not know what WD40 is? You can get this anywhere, probably even at the grocery store.

I can empathize with that. I had a PSP back before smartphones existed and it was how I discovered porn. I busted some of the best nuts of my life while looking at my PSP.

Here’s the handheld impact driver, you hit the back with a hammer and it will help twist loose some fricked fasteners if you want to try that instead of drill + extractor.

And here’s the screw extractor pliers, the small ones may work if it’s not recessed

I got them because they were like 30% cheaper than the Vampliers which are the exact same thing. Not sure if Vamplier is the Murrican market version or what.

The Fujiyas look really similar as well, wouldn’t be surprised if they came out of the same factory. However the orange ones I got were the more affordable version made in Vietnam or some shit, I think the black and gold Fujiya stuff is Japan made and the other colors are somewhere else, but those ones are still pretty nice as far as I can tell. Limited use tool but they bite into screws which means they’re not Chinesium cheese metal.

My prior fav for grabbing screws like that was the double jointed linesman pliers, I think they’re Crescent brand. The waffle grip and double joint makes them grip hard, but they’re big and you need to open the handle a lot to grab shit so not as easy as the engineers.

See pic related. Since it is a PSP, you may need something smaller. This kit has been a lifesaver on many occasion.

Never had great luck with those.

Is it recessed? Like down in a hole? There are some pliers like the Vampliers on Amazon that are pretty good.

Left handed drill bits are sweet as well, they often times unthread the screw as you’re drilling. They sell sets like 10pc with 5 left hand drill bits and 5 extractors for each size of bit, but those may be too large. There’s also manual impact drivers, they sell ones with 1/4” bits and some extractors, even AutoZone carries those now.

Honestly if it’s that small, find some sort of bit or screwdriver that sort of grabs, like even if it only 10% fits now, tap the bit with a hammer and try to force the bit in a little bit, then grab a driver (if it’s a bit, or if you have a standalone screwdriver, tap that in) and then lean into it with a whole lot of downward pressure and try to twist it out.

      Ooh cools

Put a rubber band (one of the wide flat ones) over the stripped screw and then press the screwdriver into the band. Push down hard and turn slowly. If the screw isn't too tight it sometimes works.

I've tried this and sadly it didn't work

dissassembly a bic pen take a lighter and heat the plastic smosh it into the screw/mold wait for it to cool remove.
You now have a costume screwdriver made of recycled materials apply for carbon credits.

      This sounds dangerous anon

A picture would help. Try and stick a razor blade under the screw head, like one from a box cutter, and try to unscrew it with a screwdriver. The threads should catch on the blade.
You may also be able to use the razor to elevate the screw a bit and get it out with tweezers.

You do realize the screw he's trying to take out is thinner than a finishing nail and shorter than grain of rice.

Get a tough snapoff knife and slowly cut, it's more like a grind I guess, across the screw back and forth, over and over, until you got a straight groove across it that's deep enough for a flat head screwdriver to fit into said groove.
This will take a lot of time and patience. You will also need to apply quite a bit of force and probably slip and frick up whatever is around the screw.
Alternatively use a different small screwdriver that might get a grip in what little material is left.

I charge morons $80 to extract screws from their expensive toys. I don't think I've ever had one that a screw extractor actually worked on. you either hammer an oversize bit into the socket and crank it out or you have to drill it.

I've had great luck using a Dremel to create a slot that I could fit a flathead screw driver through.

I used one of the round flat ones for cutting metall.

If OP can't undo the screw he is the person the tamper proof case was actually designed to stop.

We could tell you how to remove the screw, but you would probably only cause more damage afterwards. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing
