How do I cope with the fact that I think USGI aluminum mags look and feel cooler than PMAGs but I understand from a practical standpoint PMAGs are objectively better in all ways? Why do you still see guntubers run USGI mags when they have aces to PMAGs?

This literally doesn't happen, you can find 40 year old mags and as long as the springs and followers are replaced they will function like they are new.
You will only damage these by spiking them or intentionally damaging them. If you are really that concerned get steel mags, they are just as cheap and only slightly heavier.

Steel mags are my favorite. They don't feel cheap and rattle, like the aluminum mags do.

too bad an empty steel mag weighs about as much as a half-full aluminum mag. inb4 you say something completely braindead like 'lift more'

PMags don't even need all that as proven by the muhraaaaaains!

Which have been standard since before PMAGs were a thing.
        >Last iteration had to have a follower update
That's due to M855A1, not due to any reliability issues inherent to the magazines.

Its doesnt really matter. As long as youve got a modern follower and are mindful of any dents, there is no meaningful downside to using aluminum mags. Its not like pmags are even lighter.

Just buy a shitload of aluminum d&h mags from PSA for $9 each and use those for larping and range time, and keep a dozen PMAGs at home for whatever shtf fantasy you have

I stocked up on surefeeds a couple years ago but yeah the pmags are a bit better tbh, mostly because the follower they come with. Only the e2 with blue follower is magpul tier.

Guntubers use them because their lives aren't on the line and they look great on camera. Buy a couple for fun and keep your stack of pmags

you could start by realizing that you aren't an illeet oper8or and you just shoot paper or garbage (if you are lucky) so what mags you use is utterly irrelevant.

Because for years pmags weren't STANAG compliant, now days they are and you do see them out and about with combat units but rear troops stilm get old aluminum mags

They do not have "all sorts". It's extremely minor and they're fine for range use. Pmag still king. 20 round 308 lancers are justasgood, but heavier and more expensive than pmags.

Pmags when they fail usually continue to fail afterwards and aluminum can be bent back in place. Personally I like the stainless steel body mags.

        >aluminum can be bent back in place
Yes, but neither me nor you has a mag die. Stfu and stop wthis nu-fuddlore.

How? PMAGs were better back when it was just green follower mags, but aluminum USGI mags have been great and flawless since the brown followers. PMAGs are only slightly lighter. I only use the 40 round PMAGs, otherwise I use USGI mags since I have a gorillion from the Army and they fit in pouches better.

If I ventured a guess, unless they are doing a spot on mags, they just need whatever works. Maybe they couldn't find enough pmags when they bought their stock, maybe they have their pmags in storage for SHTF.

I don’t cope with it, I don’t care. PMAGs, Lancers, GI mags, they all work fine and I like them all.

How do YOU cope with the fact that the achievements of your ancestors mean nothing and your birthright has been sold to Indians, morons, Hispanics, and the Chinese?

There is no coping. Aluminum magazines are the real man's mag. They are aesthetic, iconic, and timeless. See pic related for a representation of the averge> pmag fan.

Aluminum magazines are cheaper, lighter, take up slightly less space, and have the same level of reliability of PMAGs so long as they have modern followers.
The only objective inferiority they have is in durability because they can dent but honestly that isn't as big of a problem as you would think.
At the end of the day it's cheaper to stockpile USGI mags than PMAGs and you like how they look more. It's not like that one disadvantage is gonna get you killed, nor are their many (marginal) advantages gonna save you.

They didn't go out of business. Okay industries through the firearms business was too toxic and just got out of making gun accessories.

Its still more usable than a pmag that no longer holds rigidity.

I bought a 30 rd steel ASC mag. Could fill to capacity and fire the weapon one time and the floor plate would come off and dump 29 rds on the ground. Tried everything trying to get it tight enough, but no change. Finally welded the floor plate on. It's fixed now, using it a range mag. No taking it apart to clean now though.
