Israel is getting dozens of billions in military aid, and it's using American contractors in everything

Cut them of the teat, and Israel will collapse in an instant

Quite a bit of Israeli kit is homegrown, including their drones.
        >Israel will collapse
US military aid composes a tiny portion of their budget. Stopping the aid would just make them switch to their own systems.

Iron Dome, Trophy, the Merkava, their C2 platforms, all their drones, Spike. Tons of shit. You can literally go down the list.
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_equipment_of_the_Israel_Defense_Forces
Their drones were so good early on, the US was buying them. The US continues to use Israeli military hardware today, like their mortars, F-35 components, missiles, etc.
Some Israeli hardware uses US components, like engines, but US contractors did not always have any role in actual development. They're just buying them OTS.

Unless you think any non-native component should disqualify the item as "native", in which case, even the US arsenal is mostly disqualified, including essentially everything with a microchip.

                >The Iron dome was paid for with $2.6billion from the US
All development was native. Initial batteries were Israeli, US just funded additional ones.
                >the Tamir interceptor was co-developed with Raytheon
Wrong. That's just a US partner for local co-production.

                >All paid for by the minimum $3.8billion/year from the US.
Wrong again. Absent a US contractor, no US foreign military aid can be used. Which means everything on that list that isn't produced by America can only be paid for by the Israelis.

No, it doesn't. I guess that $2.6 billion on Iron Dome all went on batteries the US bought? None of it went on supplying Israel with more batteries, or missiles? $4billion of your $20 billion defense budget comes from the US.

Despite what some are saying here, the Bayraktar TB2 and Lentatek Karayel are the low-end of Turkish combat drones. They're not the pinnacle.

The TAI Anka, Anka-S and Aksungur, and the Bayraktar Akinci are the high-end combat drones. TB3 and KizilElma are in development, and the latter should begin testing next year, if all goes to plans.

The TB2 alone has gotten really good at evading air defense as long as it's not multi-layered.

Baykar actively updates software where electronic jamming gets decrypted in real-time. You'll notice from Azerbaijani TB2 videos from both recent wars that the earlier footage is static but later footage is crisp. That shows two things:
      1. It defeated the EW to begin with, to make the strike happen.
      2. It defeated the EW again, to make the footage better.

        Anonymous

it never 'defeated' or even faced EW as it was never deployed against actual armies only poor/moronic terrorists/militias.
if you see noise in some videos but no noise in others it's due to the rf link quality in the specific mission (operating close with few obstructions = clear image, operating far away with shit between you and the drone = lots of noise in the image)

There was one Turkish MIT student in the early 2000s who came back to Turkey and started building really cheap drones with COTS equipment.

Hence why they're called the Bayraytar. They're named after that guy.

They're qualitatively inferior to a Predator but they're so much cheaper that it doesn't matter.

The TB2 makes a VERY convincing price argument.

It could be half as good as a Reaper in every way and people would clamor for it because it costs $2 million and Reapers start at $32 million, it gives you closer to "real" assault drone performance for closer to "Amazon drone with a hand grenade" budget.

      Anonymous

There's a very real chance the price is supported by subsidies.

Don't forget that the company that makes the Roach drones is run by Papa Roach's nephew or cousin or son-in-law or some other nepotistic middle eastern arrangement.

The Western optics alone on the TB2 are almost more than the price of the roach drone, so something doesn't add up.

Don't forget it's also a power move. Marrying a man's daughter subordinates you to him as he is now legally your father, hence father-in-law. That's why kings, especially in the bronze age, were so big into making weaker kings marry their daughters.

why does turkish mil equipment causes so much butthurt?

I really don't get how Turkey and Russia keep up the "best bros" act when Turkey has killed more Russian allies and thwarted more Russian geopolitical goals than any other country over the last decade

          >Probably because literally every other country except the US as the big daddy of NATO wants to see them fricked.

Ever since the 2022 Ukraine War started, Greeks on Twitter have been occasionally dissing Ukraine calling them slaves. Ironic.

Ukraine is and will continue to be within the orbit of Turkey, Poland and the US, because they along with the UK and Baltic States are who aided Ukraine before everyone else jumped on board after the US ordered them to. France waited a month, and Germany waited 2 months, after the war broke out to send weapons because they were hoping to see Ukraine get steamrolled or partitioned just like in 2014. They were sending out helmets and pads the first several weeks.

Turkey was the only one to invest in Ukraine's defense industry, and it was also the largest foreign investor in Ukraine in 2020 and 2021.

Even the helmets and vests Ukraine's leadership wears are from Turkey.

Turkey signed separate deals to build factories to manufacture the Bayraktar TB2 and the TAI Anka in Ukraine. Turkey signed deals to build corvettes for Ukraine, with the first already built in Turkey and latter ones built in Ukraine. This would have given Ukraine a real NAVY.

When Ukraine first used the Bayraktar TB2 against Russian-backed forces in October 2021 to save Ukrainian troops from shelling, France and Germany literally condemned it.

Because of the roach tendency to play both sides at all times for their personal gain people forget how much Turks despises vatniks. It's historical and geographical, Russia's endgame has always been reaching warm the Mediterranean waters. The turks' role in history was to wienerblock them and it still is. Crimean Khanate was part of the Ottoman Empire at some point. They're still fighting proxy wars against russians in ukraine, syria, nagarno-karabakh etc

I'd also add that if Russia were to decline for whatever reason (as is looking increasingly likely) then Turkey would become the dominant regional power of the near-East.

It's not some advance weapon it just is affordable and meets Ukraines means. Also, while shitting on Turks is fun they arent some primitive tribe. A few of them are intelligent enough to make weapons.

It isn't advanced, but it is combat proven and good enough to do the job. Aso Turks don't have the same prejudices as Uncle Sam, and sell it in many countries,

Remind you the US didn't want to sell even stingers to Ukraine because "you will eventually lose and sell it on the black market" and Germany silently blocked even procurement of chassis in European Union for armored vehicles after 2014.

The enemies of Turkey hate them so unbelievably much that their hatred unironically deranges them from reality. The reality of Turkish military capabilities. The pure and extreme level of Turk hatred disables them from properly analyzing their Turkish enemy and setting up a reality based war strategy to counter the Turks. This is the only true advantage Turkey, it's enemies a literally to emotional on a National-Governmental scale due to their Turk hate and anti-Turk pride, to even admit that their might be some things Turkey does well or might be strong in and should be taken in absolute consideration. NOPE! ''Om my gosh, like.. the Turks, are true stupid, ugly morons, they are like the worst''

I did look it up and you're full of shit. Turkey didn't stop drone production, they just replaced that shit with domestic stuff which they were going to do anyway.

Jesus Christ the amount of butthurt Turkey's military industry is causing to foreign lobbies is hilarious.

Because they had to. They were and are still sanctioned so they had to come up with something. Once drones become existential, you inevitable become good at it.

Tb2s are very good value for money and come with almost no strings attached. If used in a layered way with EW systems they can do considerable damage. They are becoming increasingly domestic and apperantly have quite good software. They can be used almost anywhere by almost anyone and require basic maintenance. It's like the Toyota pickup of drones. You buy them, send your guys to Turkey to train, set up a couple containers and off you go killing people. It's pretty nice. Would buy myself if I could.
