They’re taking out all their ammo depots, followed by bridges and rail arteries.
Cutting off the Ingulets is also smart.
Ukraine needs to start adding pressure, there’s a danger of overcaution where Russia just pulls forces and uses them to reinforce Melitipol (which would be harder than just smashing the entire kherson force)

If the Russians bunch up too many battered, scared troops in one city they run the risk of mass revolt.

        It's a true Catch-22 for Russia.

Putin's pride and ego condemns the Russians to defend a city they really should just evac from. Even the Ukrainians at the twin cities had the good sense to NOT let the Russians surround them completely.

yea what they really need to be doing now is negotiating a peace deal, taking a few strips of land in the dombas, claiming victory, and getting the hell out, before the big shipments of lend lease weaponry arrives in the autumn.
Going on past this point is a terrible folly and a shameful pride. I thought last week Putin was starting to grope his way out of this morass with the grain deal.

The problem unfortunately is that Putin's instinct is to Double-Down. His entire image is based on Macho Man Viciousness, to the point he carved up his own face to make himself MORE vicious-looking.

Now Russia has declared their goal is once again REGIME CHANGE.

I really suspect the High Command has zero real idea of the fricking reality on the ground, beyond just surface details.

Putin doesn't seem to grasp you should only Double-Down on their goals when you have the fricking advantage.

Which is why I push for the destruction of all Russian locomotives; all Russian supply convoys to be IED'ed, ambushed, and otherwise blown to hell; all officers targeted; all command systems ruined; all communications disabled; all Russian logistical supply points hit; and for Ukraine's own logistics to be dramatically strengthened by Western vehicles.

Eh, I dunno. There's no war in Russian history where the Russians didn't lose 500,000 soldiers before they sued for peace. 75,000 soldiers is like one sixth of that initial threshold.

Russians are advancing steadily in Donbass, Avdika and Bakhmut are on the verge of falling. I was talking about this last night with some other anons, HIMARS prevented thw Ukrainians from losing entirely but the West needs to step up massively in terms of what they're giving. The Ukrainians desperately need logistics stuff like humvees and trucks, not just powerful weapons (though that we havent given them atacms yet isna tragedy, I hope Jake Sullivan loses his job).

Thats what I meant by sending them old Peterbilt 18 wheelers. There are thousands upon thousands of those frickers with old cummins engines in them that would be so much easier to work on than Oshkoshes and 6x6 M939s. They would require intact roads, but I dont think thats been a problem thus far.

The Russians are so going to try to run the compromised bridges WITH the heavy equipment.

Most likely the High Command will directly order the junior officers to do it, over their objections. I have no doubt the officers on the fricking ground KNOW the bridges aren't safe. But the High Command will threaten their families and they'll comply. The Russians will try to cross the bridges, they'll collapse, then the Ukrainians will begin blasting the fleeing Russians as they try to cross the river in hastily erected pontoons.

    Current information...

    Let's start with something pleasant.

In the Izyum direction, advanced units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine not only stopped the enemy's advance north-west, north and north-east of Slovyansk, but also forced him to retreat in some places. Where, how and when.... of course, I will not write for obvious reasons, but I will say that the situation in this area, recently, at the tactical level, is quite "interesting" for the enemy. His most powerful grouping of troops, aimed at the Slavyanskyi fortified area of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, judging by everything, has already "regrouped" to the point that its individual advanced units may very well be completely defeated in the near future... Moreover, this is not an exaggeration.

We will talk in more detail about the situation in the Izyum direction another time, but one thing can be said for it for sure right now - during the past week, the enemy did not manage to advance even 1 km here. Moreover, he was forced at the tactical level to retreat to a number of plots.

      Now, about the South.

During the last 3 days, according to the BTGr-my of the Russian Airborne Troops (pdv), which ALREADY proceeded to the Kherson-Beryslav bridgehead as part of the "South" group, all road and rail communications of the enemy in the Zaporizhia, Kherson, Donetsk regions, on the peninsula Crimea and in the Rostov region of Russia are now simply "clobbered" by the troops of the armies of the Eastern Front, which are now actively moving to the southern operational zone.

The bulk of the railway echelons move through Kerch and Dzhankoy to the two main unloading stations for the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions, respectively - Brylivka and Sokologhirne...

On the M-14 road in the direction of Mariupol - Berdyansk - Melitopol - Nova Kakhovka, the columns of the troops of the Ministry of Defense are also standing alone one by one, almost continuously...

        Mandic

The volume and pace of movement of manpower, ATS, material means and items of logistical support is such that communications simply cannot withstand. And their real bandwidth, apparently, simply slows down this whole process, knocking it out of the schedule established by the Russian military command.

So, for example, the Russian Directorate of the Crimean Bridge was forced to cancel the movement of any civilian trains across the railway bridge for half a day, due to the need to pass through it at the right time and in the right number of military echelons... And this is clearly not a "standard situation". ..

        Thus...

The grouping of enemy forces, which the Russian military command is currently creating by strategically regrouping its forces and means in the Southern operational zone, from the reserve and other operational zones and directions, is increasingly acquiring sufficiently characteristic features and pronounced, clear outlines and features...

As I predicted, the basis of this grouping will be the troops of the Eastern Military District of the USSR. For example, during the last 2 days, she "slept" here, who would you think? That's right - the 35th combined military army of the Russian Federation, infamous throughout the world for the "bright exploits" of its soldiers near Kiev...

Yes, these are the same ones... with looted washing machines, screwdrivers, doghouses and women's underwear, which are the FIRST among the Russian military became "famous" around the world for murders, rapes and tortures of the civilian population, looting and robbery. So to speak, very typical representatives of the current Russian "deep" society...

In the number of up to 10-12 BTGrTGr (that is, almost the entire composition of those troops that the 35th "army" was able to field to participate in the so-called "svo"), this gang ALREADY arrived from the composition of the "Izyum" group in the operational rear group "South" (Sofiivka - Gornostaivka - Kryvyi Rih - Voskresenske district). Including, the real "star" of this horde of murderers, executioners, rapists and looters - the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade, known for its "feats" in the Bucha - Irpin - Gostomel triangle.

In general, in addition to it, battalion-tactical and tactical groups from the 38th MSBR, 69th "Cossack" regiment, 107th RBR, 165th ABR and 71st ZRBR gathered here. They even brought the 82nd Repair and Recovery Battalion and the "Medical Tactical" Group with them...

              Mandic

In addition, it is also worth noting that not only the troops of the 35th ZVA, but also the 5th and 36th Armies of the Russian Armed Forces and part of the 29th ZVA, as well as the entire a number of parts and subdivisions of district subordination with a very characteristic purpose. For example, "old friends" after the offensive on Popasna "restored and re-equipped" BTGr of the 40th and 155th obrmp tof-a, as well as units from the 68th AK and the 104th obr of the district.

To be honest, today I am not yet ready to unanimously say who will unite "under his scepter" the entire southern operational zone (that is, all 3 directions - Mykolaiv, Kryvorizh and Zaporizhia) - the command structures of the eastern or southern military districts of the Soviet Union. After all, it is obvious that the deployment in the area of responsibility of the southern military district of a grouping of troops, comparable to, or even exceeding, its grouping in terms of volume, will require some kind of "unified commander". Even for the reasons of the elementary need to coordinate actions and establish interaction in the middle of this conglomerate...

                Mandic

However, I can see one thing for sure - if we remember that the units and units of the 49th, 58th ZVA and 22nd AK of the southern district are also deployed here, then today it is quite possible to come to the conclusion that the Russian military command is conducting operational deployment in this zone, perhaps the most powerful operational grouping of its troops since the very moment of the massive invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine...

For me personally, for example, the transfer and use of the 35th general military army of the Eastern Military District of the Soviet Union in this sense , is a kind of marker, an indicator of where exactly the attention of their general staff is focused at the moment... I don't know why, but the "Moscow strategists" feel a certain morbid attraction to this unification of troops...

Remember, the first offensive on Kyiv, the main direction - it was the 35th Army that was the basis of that grouping of troops that broke through closer to Kyiv. Then a short "recovery" and again the main direction, the very tip - Raisins. And again, the 35th army appears here... moreover, with its appearance, the situation worsened there very significantly. And now - the Kherson steppes are north of the Crimean isthmus...

I don't think that it "happened that way" or "collapsed" by chance.

Honestly, I don't know... why exactly this army is constantly pushed by the Russian military command in its "main offensives"... Maybe it is somehow specialized, maybe it has some special military personnel who are capable of not only killing, raping and torturing... and to advance effectively and successfully. I don't know...

I don't know... but during the first phase of the invasion, it was the 35th Army, in comparison with other groups of Russian troops, such as the 1st TA or the 20th ZVA, that demonstrated the highest level of adequacy of perception of the situation and aggressiveness in the offensive. In the same way, the BTGr units were celebrated near Izyum...

And regarding the fact that "an attack that hangs on three destroyed/semi-destroyed bridges... is impossible"... I suggest you familiarize yourself with the following information.

In order to ensure the transfer of ADDITIONAL forces and means to the "zone of responsibility" of its troop group operating in the Kryvorizka direction, and after the defeat of the Antoniv bridge by the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the enemy led a pontoon crossing across the Dnipro River in the area of Lviv.

                Mandic

Moreover, at the same time, in the Dar'ivka area, the command of the enemy's troops simply DISMANTLED the pontoon crossing over the Ingulets River, because he managed to RESTORE the bridge nearby by covering the damaged areas with steel plates.

In turn, on July 28 of this year the enemy, after carrying out engineering works at the Kakhovskaya HPP lock (they covered the road surface with reinforced plates 160 mm thick), continues to throw OVT in the direction of Vesele - west. Shiroka Balka is probably Magical.

And you continue to believe... that "Saint Hymers" in company with "Saint Excalibur" will stop these hordes...

                Conclusion...

In the South, the real Darkness is gathering...

To conduct an effective defense, even if it is operational or operational- the tactical level of all that is TOO MUCH...

A combination of the 35th, 36th and 5th ZVA of the Eastern Military District and 2 armies (49th and 5th)...

Great intel. This confirms what some have been saying regarding Izium movements. Interesting take regarding command structure. I will say this is both troublesome for Ukraine and a great opportunity. Lots of troops having to go through chokepoints previously struck by HIMARS and artillery. We will definitely see some high casualty strikes and may have the first one in the Brylivka Trains Station strike on July 28-29 that just got reported with supposed 40 train cars, 80 dead and 200 wounded.

                >Russia moves a ton of troops into an area plagued with logistical issues

Yeah, this is going to go wrong for Russia real fast, lol.

I don't understand WHY Russia wants to mass all these troops together when it amplifies their logistical issues. It also makes it that much harder for them to escape if they have to.

Mandic, I have never encountered a writing style on the internet I hate as much as I do yours. It triggers my fight-or-flight response by how confusing and unclear it is.

In case you did a google translate of someone else's post, fair enough, but in that case you should provide a source.

Thing is, i have never seen man dick actually write anything, its always some machine-translated gibberish from some other source.
Does it even speak english? Or is it some sort of childish statement against the western powers it is making by not writing any?

Dismantle all Russian logistical capabilities and command & control. The Russian occupier will slowly collapse without direction or resupply.

my point is that this happens every time ukraine gets a new weapon. first it was javelins, then it was NLAWS, then M777, now HIMARS. its nothing but people who have no idea what these things are shouting about them constantly.

The only himars that have had any effect is the one that the hohols used to kill their own forces that were captured so they could false flag about Russia executing them.

The trains are a massive weak point in Russia's logistical system. Hit every single locomotive.

Eliminating Russian capital equipment for which the vatBlack folk are experiencing reduced or eliminated production, is a good idea. I recollect a figure showing heavily reduced production of locomotives. Blow those up supplying the invasion of Ukraine eventually become untenable

            Anonymous

All those locomotives must be destroyed. Wipe them off the face of the Earth.

NO supplies from Russia to Ukraine must be allowed in. Destroy them by insurgent, destroy them by IED, destroy them by HIMARS.

And the Ukrainians need to demand more Logistical Vehicles. Because THEN they can supply their own offensives with all the ammo and fuel they need to fight.

One of those namegays isn't even real, it's just some guy using an anti-russian avatargay's troll handle. I assume the reason he stopped avatargayging was because the vatniks ran to the troony-janny and cried homosexual subhuman tears.

what's the strategic end-game for Russia in Ukraine?

To conquer all of Ukraine? To annex Eastern and Southern Ukraine?

Because it seems like it would be much less expensive for Russia to just consolidate their gains in the east and south of Ukraine than it would to keep on invading the rest of Ukraine.

Apparently they're still sticking with the original objective of capturing the entire Ukraine. I don't know how the hell they're going to accomplish that.

They want Novorossiya, so they won't stop until they take Odessa, can link up with Transnistria, and have cut off the Ukrainian dump state from the sea.
