oh m8 if it's near the outskirts of a town or city at least 100k acres. you'd be surprised how many wanderers and weirdos trickle through the thickets and canyons in the course of a month.

you basically have to disappear far away as if you were on Mars to have any confidence no wanderer, hunter, etc goes near you

Ok so guy who posts that maladaptive daydream meme pisses me off more than you, because I hate how all the newbie kiddos think because PrepHole is le edgy place, that means being anything other than a cynical do nothing is wrong.

But also to you, dude look in the archive, literally every 2-3 days for years there has been a new "waaah I wanna run away and live in the forest" thread.

Also sorry to crush your dreams, but look at a map, it is exceptionally hard to get even 10 miles away from a road in every direction "the wilderness" does not exist because the whole planet has been sliced up and commodified due to our economic system.
Also the only places with real vast wilderness, ironically you are more likely to be found there than on a shack just on the other side of a hill from the highway, because real wilderness is a very high traffic area, as it is a place people want to go.

man, if you actually were serious about becoming a squatting hobo in a park you'd just go do it.

barriers to entry: absolutely zero. that's why they are bums. living in a park.
asking for permission on PrepHole though is pretty telling.

the better question is what has gone so incredibly wrong in your life and/or upbringing to make this a consideration? (assuming it's not just idle zoomer naivety)

Unironically, there are thousands of people living in city parks all over the US. They don't worry. If your intention is to live in a national park you'll be busted within a few days.

    >live in it comfortably
as someone acclimated to idling your days in your mom's basement, there is no size where you will be "comfortable" for you, and while actually facing discomfort would do you a world of good, you'd be better off trying something like holding down a part time fast food or retail job.

Depends more on terrain and location than size. There was a guy out somewhere in New England who lived in the bush for decades without getting caught despite constantly stealing supplies from cabins. If you're smart about opsec you can vanish pretty easily. Of course this assumes you're just a random nobody. If you're a wanted fugitive then it's harder. But even then, people underestimate how hard it is to find somebody in the bush who has skills and is intent on not being found.

hundreds of acres and you'd still have to move constantly

but i love it when shitty hobos appropriate public spaces because they can't run their lives properly, thanks guys for being deadweight.

why would the go-to assumption be that everyone's situation is shitty?
        >own house/land (acres of forest, outskirts of county, nothing but BLM forest adjacent)
        >have kids and married to a good woman
        >decent paying job/career, full time WFH
life is good. sincerely sorry it's not going so well for this guy. Camping in a park is hobo-tier behavior though. i mean yeah, you're sticking it to the 'man' or is it, ~~*man*~~? by not doing things like working or paying rent. but you're also depriving everyone else who might want to use the park by turning it into your squatter's camp. Coddling these people helps no one.

That said, picking up on just a little bit of projection there anon. If all zoomers are like this (insane levels of nihilism coupled with an outsized sense of entitlement) we're so incredibly fricked.

          >we're so incredibly fricked.
          yup.
"I'm gonna run away and minecraft in real life because being expected to wipe my own ass is slavery!" well encompasses the basic nature of the majority of zoomies.

I hate hobos but considering how many people are such hostile, miserable buttholes even when they go do something basic and easy like getting groceries from the store, it's easy to assume that nearly everybody hates their miserable lives even when they have everything. There's no reason to be a huge c**t in a store, on the road, at a gas station, on a basic nature trail, yet most people are. Must be all the debt acquired to have all the material goods to make yourselves think you're better than hobos, and then getting stuck somewhere because of your financial mess makes you a big b***h that looks bad to hobos.

      >but i love it when shitty hobos appropriate public spaces because they can't run their lives properly, thanks guys for being deadweight
What's the solution for people who don't want to pay into the tax pool? Even if they owned their own property, they will be forced into something they don't want to be apart of. Is the answer just
      >You will contribute to people you don't care about or else you're dead weight.

If you do this, make sure you set up camp on a steep hillside. Normies always take the path of least resistance. This means avoiding valleys and ridges

Who cares if you get caught? Just walk right back in. You must be homeless, so just carry your supplies with you. However, homeless people nearly all live in cities because they rely on them to provide food, water, warmth, shelter, clothing, and drugs; and if you were skilled enough to survive in the bush without help, you wouldn't be asking dumb questions on PrepHole.

unless you're moving camp every 2 days and never revisiting the same spot more than twice, never.
national parks have rangers, surveillance, cameras etc.
you cant just sit in one place for 3 months and think no c**t's gunna find you
maybe 50 years ago but in the modern drone/satellite age? nah

30-40 square miles at least. Ideally it would be a vast forest connected to other forests by corridors so you have a larger network of places to hide out in. But those can be hard to figure out unless you're in a big city or near some wilderness where nobody bothers to go like Idaho.
