how advanced can consumer drone warfare become?

how advanced can consumer drone warfare become? Dropping grenades and reconnaissance is nice and all, but how much further can we take this?

Relay coordinates so the target is going to suffer more than what is available onboard.

as far as you can take any improvised weapon. that is, further than you would think, but the limitations are many.

    >drones are initially only used for recon and spotting purposes
    >operators realized they can strap bombs. Bomber and Attack drones are born
    >the increased threat from drones led to the development of anti-drone systems
    >operators try to use drone to hunt other drones
    >drones engage other drones in the skies
    >some operators who proved themselves deadly start to put their own individual markings
    >liveries of garish colours, RGB lighting, and anime nosearts dominates the skies
    >the age if the drone aces begin

History might not repeat, but sure it can rhyme

Most people aren't buttholes. The ones who are buttholes mostly aren't technically sophisticated.

I'm seriously thinking of designing a small semi-auto drone gun that uses a low recoil high BC projectile like a 77gr TMK at 2000ish FPS. The end goal is a sniper drone, since dropping grenades has been shown to be VERY inaccurate at the distance you need to not get shot down. A gun could get a lot more consistent performance.

Autonomous AI with optical recognition. Drone carriers and swarms. Drone-superiority drones, hunting other drones.
2 if those things already exists.
Gotta say, future warfare shapes up to be pretty fricking gay

Imagine a big industrial country like china or USA building ab automatized drone megafactory, pumping out millions of hunter killer drones with an autonomous AI.

I predict the first act of terrorism to be performed with a drone to happen within the next 10 years. Nobody minds the little drone hovering overhead until it drops an IED on a politician, and even after people freak out it will be really hard to stop, since there's no way drones all get banned.

I predict a blanket bam on consumer drones in Europe within 5 years. Or at least they'd do it if they have 2 braincells to rub together

I'm tempted to pop a paint balloon above some politician just to create awareness, but SÄPO will probably lock me in jail for "incitement" (plus i make terrorists aware as well so it's a real problem).

I think you can improvise some basic targeting & guidance for those free-falling grenades.
Have 2 plastic fins controlled by a small servo with a battery and a wireless comm module. Like $20 worth of stuff per grenade. There's already a webcam on the drone for some rudimentary image recognition.
Should be enough to deviate them at least a couple of feet for much better aim.
