Honest advice needed

So, I can go back to school and get a BS in Business Finance and Economics for around 20K in student loans, or I can get an SBA loan and start an online shop while simultaneously using Youtube to do reviews and comparisons. I have a pretty good name picked out that I think will stand out from the crowd, domain already registered, etc.
I'd eventually like to transition to machining uppers and making kits, and finally full pre-builts. I'm kind of lost as to what to do here. The degree would cushion me from anything that may go wrong on the gun-side of things (It's not a regular MBA, it's specialized from one of the most prestigious business schools in the country). I currently owe 20K for the A.S. If Biden forgives all federal loans, I'd owe $0, and this would be a non-issue, but getting over 40K in debt at this point is not something I want to do just for a degree that may be pointless.
What would you do?

Yeah but that would hit my debt up to like 40-60K with all the BS changes they make, on my recent FAFSA my expected family contribution was $14985 a MONTH. I tried appealing it but they said it wouldn't matter, so I get no grants, no nothing, just subsidized loans at 3.5%.
And honestly, I think he might, it's the only way they MIGHT eek out a small edge in some states.

Also, it's INSANE how much things have changed when I was in school. We had a person that would walk us through all this, now they pretty much just give you the offer, you schedule all your own classes, being allowed to schedule classes you can't even take, etc (its a total shitshow)

As someone who started a business and has a bachelors degree in business management (emphasis marketing), go get your stupid degree. Consider it a back up plan to a middle class lifestyle. It’s basically your entry into any professional work these days.
I’ve been in my career for 10 years and somewhat pissed I didn’t get a MBA because it’s basically a requirement for large company leadership positions.
My own business did well until covid destroyed my client base and now I work for someone else. That bachelors degree is key to any sort of fall back plan because life will throw you curveballs.

Thanks for the advice, with the income driven repayment plans, they'd only get 10% of whats left over after I pay my bills, down to a possible $0.00. They need to just give it up. Not to mention the 6K in interest they've charge me on a 14K loan.

I paid off $40,000 in student loans in 5 years. It may seem like a lot to you right now, but it’s honestly a drop in the bucket of your life.
Just work hard in college, get a internship and then boom, when you graduate you’ll be in the middle class. After a few years hopefully you’ll be in the upper middle class in the richest country on earth. Your debts will seem trivial a few years after college unless you drop out/fail in which case you have to pay it back from working at Starbucks.

I do pretty good right now, I have about 2K left over at the end of the month after I pay all my bills, but still, I never, ever, want to back into being so far in debt again. It took almost 4 years to drag myself out of that credit score pit and buy this house.

Also, do you think that in the grand scheme of things, you'd have made more than what the loans would have chipped away for repayment?

Yes. My entire repayment was about $35,000ish. Given I have 10 years experience in digital marketing/online advertising, it’s easy for me to find a job that pays $100,000/year. If I didn’t have the degree I’m not sure how much I would make but it would be less. I’d unironically probably try to put in 20 years in the army if I didn’t have it.

Also should mention I have a mortgage with a reasonable payment of 1025/m for 1700sqft on a newly remodeled house. And my credit is 50 points higher than the average for people my age.

I guess I'm also ignoring the income I could get from the website/shop that could be used to help repay the loans.

I mean, some people go into $100k+ debt for a degree in like, linguistics. Could do a lot worse.

Dude get your BS. It's well worth it over the long run. I'm 29 with a BS in finance and some CFA levels and I'm making just over ~105k if the bonus hits right(not gonna be a great bonus year)

I'm 37 and I originally wanted to do this 4 years ago but my dad was extremely ill. So fricking stupid, plus they were offering pell grants because I wasn't making as much. I wish I could go back in time and slap the shit out of myself.

    >BS in Business Finance
Get a general finance or accounting degree, you'll be up for the same jobs while not limiting yourself from others.
