"Don't trust without confirmation"-tier. However he has been the first to call many happenings over the past few days and obviously has legit sources in Ukraine.

Can people fricking stop talking about nukes?
Nukes are self-defence weapons used only when the integrity of a state is in danger. Donetsk and Luhansk are NOT part of the Russian state.
Putin is still liable to fall out of a window if he tries to make good on any nuke threat. His goons are in it for the money and power. Getting nuked kind of puts a damper on that.
True, but this whole thing has been extremely costly and embarrassing for russia and it feels like Putin has put most of his eggs in the ukraine basket.
It does make sense with how the Russians are known to operate. They can't do anything at all until they get new orders from Putler. So right now they are just in complete disarray since no one can show any sort of initiative to try and stop Ukrainians from advancing. I figured that if the Ukrainians kept advancing the Russia lines would completely collapse due to this issue.
>show any sort of initiative to try
They have plenty of initiative though. The initiative to run away and the initiative to surrender.
They love doing those things.
They already crossed at Lyman. They can advance on the city from the west and north. Although I'd have to imagine most of this news is just to cause panic and confusion so Russians don't know where to send their reserves.
I understand the area between kupiasnk and lisy is basically a wasteland, but the area directly east of the lysi-severo river is not. Severo can get reinforcements very fast if they will it, and they still have the 1k pieces of artillery on the luganda-dombabwe area AND the supply line from caucasian russia.
Lysi is as far as they can go without overextending.
There's of course the possibility that putin ordered an actual general retreat and they are all going back to the border, but the implications of that are huge.
Maybe, the artillery isn't sighted at Severo though it's sighted at Bakhmut and I doubt the artillery men are going to stand and fight when there's nothing between them and the enemy. It's rapidly becoming apparent how thin the Russian line was and how starved their operstional reserves are.
>Severo can get reinforcements very fast if they will it
i was saying shit like this yesterday, but it's pretty fricking obvious now that whatever reserves there were in eastern ukraine are now running for russia like all the others. they don't have a choice, the roads are clogged with east and north bound traffic, in both lanes.
I understand the the Luganda-Dombabwe BTGs are just thug armies armed only with cars and AKs.
I assume there must be at least one or two BTGs held in reserve in that area, probably in charge of the artillery
If there's really that few proper russian units in the area, it's fricking GG.

The two "Republics" are utterly drained of quality and quantity. Those who have been fighting Ukraine since 2014 have either died or fled by now leaving behind a weak pool of older, crippled, or really young people left to fight. It explains why the lines are folding so quickly. The actual Russian units are all understrength to a ridiculous degree and have relied on those republic forces to hold lines. The Russians can't both be on the offensive and hold lines with their manpower at the moment.
Nah, you just have to keep moving cohesively.
Honestly it's fine to fall back on the cities you liberated too, so there's basically no reason to stop there.
But its basically just a thin line of advancing group, if by some miracle the russkies strike through in one place, the whole operation goes in reverse
Because it sounds like the ukies are just as surprised how well this going, and maybe only prepared to advance the rear stuff a bit, and not this far, and now they cant keep up
I disagree, chase the Russians while they are at their weakest and don't have time to regroup. All the Russian lines of advance are clogged with retreating traffic right now.

I'm just concerned that they reach too far, I mean the whole offensive is improv by now.

Russia is in no position to make the Ukrainians pay for overextending as far as I can tell.
The Ukrainians can clearly move and manage themselves much better than the Russians, so now is the best time to chase them so they don't have the opportunity to cohere. The odds that there's so hidden Russian counterpush are effectively nil and they probably can barely defend certain sectors right now.
>The Ukrainians can clearly move and manage themselves much better than the Russians, so now is the best time to chase them so they don't have the opportunity to cohere. The odds that there's so hidden Russian counterpush are effectively nil and they probably can barely defend certain sectors right now.
Other thing to always keep in mind is Ukraine has magic intel, being backed in that regard by NATO. That lets them move with FAR more confidence and aggression then they might risk otherwise at their level of military. They don't need to merely suspect there is no counterpunch brewing, they KNOW that the most advanced satellite/drone/ewar/humint surveillance in existence shows there is no such thing. If something starts gathering they'll be told that too. It's a hard factor to put hard numbers on but a huge deal. Like playing an RTS where one side gets to have the fog of war just turned off.
He already made a video where he was reassuring everyone that everything is fine, no panic...while being in a car going really fast.
Better window accident in Rostov then staing in Donetsk, must've been the logic
I think if he were really smart, he'd be using whatever resources he can draw on to get to some shithole in Africa where nobody cares who you are, and then shut the frick up. Russia is no place for a failed Russian puppet.
I have been saying "no way" for the past three days. Surely this time it would be too impossible, right?
Otherwise a whole bunch of people there are going to wake up in a reality they haven't experienced in the last 8 years. Kind of insane to think about that.
donetsk falling is more believable than izium falling 3 days ago
the northern front is collapsing, which means a retreat to the donbass trenches is the best option on the table, and I'm sure the locals know how depleted the donbabwean army is and how likely it is that those trenches will be readily manned... and the russian army is running away
Nah, no way. Despite everything, it's still a city twice the size of Mariupol that was in Russian hands for almost a decade.
Capturing this blows everything so far out of the water.
Honestly, you know what, I'm gonna hop on your hopium. I kept saying "no way that happened" all week and kept being proven wrong. And after all, Kabul also fell really quickly, so why shouldn't it happen here?
Really looking forward to the cognitive dissonance about to unfold in eastern Ukraine and Russia.

Nukes require a ton of maintenance and if Russia has allowed their army to degrade THIS much, there's a chance their nukes have degraded, too.
makes you wonder if those liquid fuel tanks for missiles have been kept in good order at all? The nukes themselves might be ok but the rockets their attached to might have totally rotted, even minute fittings corroding could cause total failure on launch.
It's worth remembering the US developed IR and NV Visual technology because they mistakenly thought Russia had it when in fact Russia had just been sending tanks to the Frontline without their spotlights.

Honestly, and this may sound like cope, but the special military operation was already successful.
It bought Putin probably another 10 yrs in office. He is very popular with the citizens back home and can control the narrative regarding and potentially military losses.
Not for long, not for a decade. You really can't hide military deaths of this scale at all. Especially when troops start to return. You think some 20yr old will be able to not tell some heartbroken mother exactly what she wants to know about her child's death. If putin brought every soldier back tomorrow he'd probably be dead in 6 months. He has to trickle people back in let the population absorb the information in small chunks.
that's why most of the soldiers he got killed where assorted plebs from all over Russia's far eastern regions, with few people from Moscow / St. Petersburg aside from some officers
no one from anywhere where local opinion matters at all was seriously harmed
no Russian mother is going to commute a thousands of miles to protest in Moscow
As much as I hate comparing X person to Hitler, his legacy will be the same: his frickup war defining it while anything good he did before will be a small footnote.

It doesn't reach Ukrainian normalgays as much, who we really care about not selling false success to, but does hit the eyes of the average Russian soldier or DPR militiaman. Now is exactly the time to stoke panic. Such things are never made out of whole cloth, there must be some reality to it, and there is certainly something to work with today, even if it doesn't turn out to be everything you might hope.

Also imagine seeing a war and actually contributing in a good way, instead of letting it happen like in every African conflict ever or doing an Afghanistan, spending frickton of resources and fixing nothing. Are we turning our timeline around? Are we going back to the true timeline after all?
I'm guessing this Donetsk stuff is 100% hopium at this point but they're going to liberate it eventually
What then? Is it a strategically useful position?
Donetsk was held by Russian puppets since 2014. It would be an enormous victory for Ukraine. Liberating Donetsk and Donbas would be basically on par with liberating Crimea.
She said some crazy stuff, and some anti-war stuff, and then got moved to a job where she couldn't hurt anything. I think she handles humanitarian aid in Crimea or something.
Probably a lot of considerations are made about the optics of this offensive since ukie official sources haven't officially cited any of the big cities as having been liberated.
If people start screaming that everything is going extremely well now, then if doesn't or something bad happens, it will look worse^2
That's it, the ukies are gonna overextend and they will soon be destroyed by the glorious reinforcing third corps to encircle and destroy the enemy.
Ukraine is DONE
Ukrainian leadership has been pretty cautious about the eastern offensive. They've been urging bloggers and media to not hype up victories too much, either out of opsec or the fear that the gains could be short-lived.
I can’t even begin to imagine the degree of hilarity. This shit is like a CIA wet dream. It makes Iraq look like 4D chess. Putin has gift-wrapped for the US the chance to destroy Russia as a great power for generations.
We wanted to believe in the kumbaya bibes in 1991. Clearly that was a mistake. We'll have to thank Ukraine for giving everyone an opportunity to correct it
Probably a bit astonished at how much of a paper tiger Russia is and the older cold warriors wondering why they were so terrified of these guys as an equal.
All these wargames assume a competent and well equipped enemy. They're collapsing because the entire army is a badly trained corrupt shell with no NCOs and command initiative. Literally cannot react cohesively as soon as they're pressed hard with combined arms so just they'll just run and that rout will cause a chain reaction and it all comes tumbling down like a tower of cards.
It was inevitable so longs as the Ukranians could scrape together a force capable of making that hard push.
>All these wargames assume a competent and well equipped enemy.
This
No wargame expected the Soviets to run out fuel 200 km from the border or the abysmal state of their logistics
Ukraine probably launched probing attacks and found the enemy was weak and then kept pushing. New pushes started to press home the advantage of the enemy forces in dissaray. The Advisors are probably yelling at them to capitalise on the Russian weakness right now while they can keep many of Russia's presumambly best units held in Kherson responding to the threat of a UA assualt in the area
>Ukraine probably launched probing attacks and found the enemy was weak and then kept pushing.
That is exactly what happened apparently. The Ukrainians were completely perplexed that there were no actual Russians to stop them from breaking the frontline, but once they realized it became a blitzkrieg to Izyum.
You'd better hope they planned this or the gains will stop soon. You don't get the logistics for a major offensive together in two days.
Personally I think the Ukrainian high command is competent and has a coherent and realistic plan for the conduct and aims of the war, and that this was a planned offensive. The recent major offensive in Kherson was mainly
intended to divert Russian reserves away from Izyum, otherwise why would Ukraine go for another bloody Battle of the Isonzo? Where does taking Kherson go? Kherson is not the road to Crimea any more than it is the road to Mykolaiv. Take it and you will have the same problem of bridges and supply that the Russians have now, minus the pile of Soviet-era bridging equipment that has let Russia cling on there. Kherson could be taken but an offensive will not proceed from there. It would simplify defense in the area for Ukraine and free up troops but it doesn't win the war.
Crushing the Izyum salient and breaking the Russian army on the Kharkov front does bring Ukraine closer to winning the war and may well be the stroke that wins the war. No matter what happens they'll also likely get Kherson out of it as Russia's situation in the heart of the LNR/DPR is now so dire that they will likely not be able to hold both. Possibly neither.
They're hoping Russia didn't actually learn any lessons from this, and a little bit nervous about the fallout. This seriously weakens Putin, because he staked a lot of his reputation on the military prowess of Russia. While NATO want to see him gone, they don't want an unstable nuclear power in the world.
Look at all those free fricking tanks. Can a vatnik shill in this thread explain to me the tactical advantage of leaving all those working tanks behind for the Ukrainians? I'm deeply curious

- Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before sending them to Hostomel Airfield?
- At least you can talk. Who are you?
- It doesn't matter who we are. What matters are our losses. No one cared who I was until I put on the beret.
- If I drop you off at the airfield will you die?
- It would be extremely painful.
- You're an elite unit.
- For us.
- Is getting surrounded part of your plan?
- Of course! Mr Putin refused sane plans in favor of deploying us. We had to find out what fire support he sent us.
- Nothing! I sent nothing!
- Well congratulations! You've got yourself sortied! Now what's the next step of your assault plan?
- Opposed combat drop. WITH NO SURVIVORS!
- NO! They expect one of us in the BMD, brother.
- Have we started the blunder?
- Yes! The blunder unfolds.
- Calm down President! Now is not the time for economic collapse. That comes later.
Someone save this please, this is too good

Dont believe it, but then again, I didnt believe Kupyansk. And Izyum. And Lyman.
How trustworthy is this WarMonitor guy
Basically Intel Slava Z but for Ukraine, however all of their recent reports have been backed up with video evidence...
Biased as hell, but all his info in the past couple of months has been dead-on.
"Don't trust without confirmation"-tier. However he has been the first to call many happenings over the past few days and obviously has legit sources in Ukraine.
Gets his info from frontline sources, but like all other sources this war some who claim to be on the frontline are just LARPers. Seems like he has trustworthy sources on this front, though.
He says anything in quotes is not confirmed.
B-bros?
Overoptimistic at times, but was right about Kupyansk and Lyman
Does this mean nukes? I am starting to worry that this might be nukes. But then I remember how organised is the retreat into the ents...
Can people fricking stop talking about nukes?
Nukes are self-defence weapons used only when the integrity of a state is in danger. Donetsk and Luhansk are NOT part of the Russian state.
it doesn't matter, the Russian leader actually shits himself, is a spergy manlet, and is surrounded by yes-men
It doesn't matter even if you are Pooteen: nukes must always follow a rigid protocol before being employed.
Tactical nuclear weapons are still a possibility...
Doubt they'd try it though
Putin is still liable to fall out of a window if he tries to make good on any nuke threat. His goons are in it for the money and power. Getting nuked kind of puts a damper on that.
True, but this whole thing has been extremely costly and embarrassing for russia and it feels like Putin has put most of his eggs in the ukraine basket.
>THE NOOOK NOOOK NOOK THE NOOOK AAAAACK
Shut the frick up, pidorashka.
> Severodonetsk
Literall sounds too good to be true
>Kick the door open and whole rotten structure comes crashing down
It does make sense with how the Russians are known to operate.
They love doing those things.
those himars & harm strikes were very selective
nah.
severo could be getting shelled for the lulz, but they simply can't cross the river without getting shelled themselves.
River is low as frick my dude, they can literally walk
The TEMPO TEMPO TEMPO has been unreal this week.
VIOLENCE OF ACTION
WE NEED EVEN MORE INITIATIVE
I actually want them to stop by now, and reinforce what they got, cause this sounds just its getting a bit too thin
Nah, you just have to keep moving cohesively.
Honestly it's fine to fall back on the cities you liberated too, so there's basically no reason to stop there.
But its basically just a thin line of advancing group, if by some miracle the russkies strike through in one place, the whole operation goes in reverse
what makes you think there's no rear guard?
Because it sounds like the ukies are just as surprised how well this going, and maybe only prepared to advance the rear stuff a bit, and not this far, and now they cant keep up
I disagree, chase the Russians while they are at their weakest and don't have time to regroup. All the Russian lines of advance are clogged with retreating traffic right now.
I'm just concerned that they reach too far, I mean the whole offensive is improv by now.
Russia is in no position to make the Ukrainians pay for overextending as far as I can tell.
We should ship Ukraine way more logistical supplies and vehicles.
Pallets, forklifts, jacklifts, anything and everything that Ukraine needs for that simple but vital function.
Yeah, its the only thing they cant pilfer from russian stockpiles

Donetsk has fallen?
If literally every Pro Russian PANIK's, who will be left to defend it.
Honestly, you know what, I'm gonna hop on your hopium. I kept saying "no way that happened" all week and kept being proven wrong. And after all, Kabul also fell really quickly, so why shouldn't it happen here?
Really looking forward to the cognitive dissonance about to unfold in eastern Ukraine and Russia.

still waiting for any proof of this mythical 7000 dead
Why did Russians want to invade Ukraine so bad and pretend it mattered at all, when every area they get pushed out of retroactively becomes "empty space, never was of any value".
When you hold none of Ukraine anymore and have come to the conclusion that none of it was worth anything, will you then question what it was all for?
>Why did Russians want to invade Ukraine
bawd. they just are returning their homeland.
Kind of them to fertilize its fields.
Right, the big sekret help of israel, which houses many russian oligarchs, while keeping itself "neutral" in war. Go back, polBlack person
Do you have any sources to back any of that up?
It's the usual M.O., start screeching about israelites and derail the thread.
But it's Russia that's ran by the Chabad Occupied Government. Plus Putin's mentor Dugin speaks fluent Hebrew, lectures in Hebrew, obsessively studies the israelites' holy books and calls the Kabbalah the greatest spiritual achievement of humankind.
Reality doesn't matter, the glavset prostitutes know israelites are a hot topic around here. The point is preventing discussion of the Russian route.

Russians have a very esoteric approach to value. Losing 5000 square kilometers of territory is nothing. Maintaining control over 70% of Pisky, a ruined village with a grand total of 18 inhabitants is everything.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!
Russia ain't got no nukes!
NATO should just go ahead and invade Moscow to put these ratniks out of their misery!
This but unironically.
US spies were repeatedly captured because the staples on their papers were too good.
Russian staples rust American ones really dont.

what will his legacy be? what will Russian textbooks say about Putin in 50 years?

Poor Gorby lived long enough to grow up in the Soviet Union, lead it, see it collapse and watch the nobody KGB agent behind him turn what’s left of it into a laughing stock.
Basically a modern day Nicholas I, complete with a war in Ukraine that threw away nearly everything.
gorbachev? his legacy is secure. at least he died before this embarrassment.
>what will his legacy be?
"The world record holder for being ass-raped by Chechens, with the documented thrust-length of 45 miles, over a period of 10 days in red square in March of 2023"
Man Putin with hair actually looks like a jovial human being who'd probably take the nephews out to Chinese once a month because he's got a steady job. What happened?
Russian given a modicum of power
At least poor Gorbachev died before he had to witness this. RIP Russian president man, you were the last competent motherfricker
He tried to actually face the problems, and got shoved out by his ungrateful countrymen who were content to continue lying their way through
The average Russian at every turn prefers to be lied to rather than have to face reality. Gorbachev was too good for the bastards.
Kind of sad that the sacrifice of all russians in WW2 is now tainted by this moron invading ukr for his own civilization tier power fantasy
Imagine the ukies who get to train on these, and then the war ends before they can brrrrt. Depressing

Cawl happened, move along
Yeah ik, that and UA ministry talked about keeping shush about movements. However ru tg channels are sharing the info like crazy.
Those ugly things pre-date Cawls abortions. They've been around since 6th edition, about 10 years.
Russian telegram channels and are likely as full of shills as anywhere else. If I were a glowBlack person trying to undermine Russia right now, I would be spamming the hell out of them with exactly what's going around now.
>What happened to thunderhawks?
Still around, still too expensive and big for most players. Those little VTOL potatoes are easier to sell to little Timmy and don't take up nearly as many points or as much table space.
Also fragile. According to the stories I've heard they have a tendency to break along the main spine if not lifted incredibly carefully.
Kek based I'm saving this
Also imagine seeing a war and actually contributing in a good way, instead of letting it happen like in every African conflict ever or doing an Afghanistan, spending frickton of resources and fixing nothing. Are we turning our timeline around? Are we going back to the true timeline after all?
>crimson fists
naw homie, them's mexican marines.
I'm guessing this Donetsk stuff is 100% hopium at this point but they're going to liberate it eventually
What then? Is it a strategically useful position?
Yes, enemy capitals tend to be strategically useful.
Didn't Donetsk become a capital kind of arbitrarily because that's just how far the Russians sent their guys in 2014
Donetsk was held by Russian puppets since 2014. It would be an enormous victory for Ukraine. Liberating Donetsk and Donbas would be basically on par with liberating Crimea.

In 2014 we had delicious crimea spokeswoman, in current year we have ukie dommy mommy
What happened to her anyway? Did she get a job in Moscow? Get car bombed?
She said some crazy stuff, and some anti-war stuff, and then got moved to a job where she couldn't hurt anything. I think she handles humanitarian aid in Crimea or something.
cool eyes. she cute.
Why are they saying stuff like this now?
Does anyone have the monke edit of the cover of Dopethrone by Electric Wizard? Probably fits well for this thread.
POST IT

What are US and NATO advisors to the Ukrainians thinking right now?
You know this was absolutely planned with advice from US Generals and intelligence advisors, right?
They're hoping Russia didn't actually learn any lessons from this, and a little bit nervous about the fallout. This seriously weakens Putin, because he staked a lot of his reputation on the military prowess of Russia. While NATO want to see him gone, they don't want an unstable nuclear power in the world.
This is the equivalent of your dad going out for cigarettes when you're 5 and then you never see him again

Look at all those free fricking tanks. Can a vatnik shill in this thread explain to me the tactical advantage of leaving all those working tanks behind for the Ukrainians? I'm deeply curious
Guns that the Ukies can shoot and scoot with all the shitbox soviet ammo they captured
filmed in crimea sadly
That just brings another question
Are russians so low on manpower they cannot man them or did all of them broke down?
>Crimea
>One of Russia's key locations
>Most equipment there is left unmanned and non-operational
I wonder how long it'll be before we see the Ukies push there, if they're that undermanned it could be a short fight.
i thought they at least took the hardware with them when they retreated
Impressive
I... what? What the actual frick? This can't be real.
unfortunately its from Crimea, although its still hilarious that they just have all that hardware sitting around down there
