because the meme wore off and enough honest people got their hands on them to let the world know roller lockers wear out and trunion replacement on an HK is not something most gunsmiths are experienced with
the rollers themselves can be replaced, but the part of the receiver that those rollers lock into can go out of spec by the time someone is willing to sell it
>trunion replacement on an HK is not something most gunsmiths are experienced with
I don’t even know why anyone would try it. You’re basically forced to peel the steel metal receiver off of it, which means you have to either get a new receiver or get a flat and bend/weld yourself. With all the money they’d charge for that work, just buy a new one
>A new $1100 gun because one sheet metal part wore out
Probably cheaper to buy a press and learn to DIY it, plus you could keep the press and experience.
Dear lord, the fake experts are out in force, aren't they?
If you have access to a mill, cutting out the old welds is a non issue. Then you press the barrel out, press it into a new trunion and set headspace. You can even knurl the barrel so it fits tighter into the new trunion. Weld new trunion into old receiver. Refinish. >Grinder and paint make me the welder I ain't.
Course, this place is overrun with noguns and children who have never touched a machine tool, why am I surprised anything beyond AR15 Lego builds is seen as catastrophically difficult?
Disregard all that and just think, this guy is talking about a 9mm MP5 being so shot out the TRUNNION is clapped out. That's literally an "around half a million rounds" issue.
this, people realized it is just a fricking stamped piece of metal that has inferior ergos in 2022 and they can build a SBR that absolutely mogs the mp5.

Why do poor people lie about their betters? Is it jealousy? A sick need to defile the things they can never own? A lack of motherly love in their childhood?
unless your have a fleming sear, nobody cares about semi-auto cope PCC
They are now offering a "base model" which only includes the gun and one magazine which is what is selling for $1100.
So it doesn't come with the 2 spare mags, optics rail, sling, and tri-lug flashhider and isn't eligible for the $200 rebate.
Turkey's currency is also in the shitter right now which probably has something to do with it.
This is probably the cheapest we will ever see for MP5 clones, even beating out the POF clones currently.
I managed to get one of the AP5-P's for $1169 which I'm probably gonna SBR.
Not eligible for the $200? Ah what the hell. That's fricking gay.
The sling and rail were junk anyway, the flash hider is pointless, two mags would be cool but I'm getting $32 KCI 20's anyway
Just the base model, I already have several MKE and old HK MP5 mags for my Zenith Z5RS, so I don't really care about the 2 extra mags,
and I also could care less about the crappy optics rail and sling they include with it.
Century announced the price drop yesterday and the base models were being posted up for sale by distributors both yesterday and today, but they sold out very fast.
There will probably be more, keep an eye out.

Why are all the MKE MP5's suddenly $1100.
What the frick happened?
Is the MP5K really that much worse than a full size for recoil?

Just in time for PTR to finally get rid of the ugly welded-on pic rail that people have been asking for ages,
great timing on their part, lmao. >MSRP: $1795
Yeah, they just put PTR out to pasture.

You know the best part? >Still doesn't have a front sling swivel
They put the fricking sheet metal clip on the magwell for the 3-point sling, and didn't give it a fricking triple tower sling swivel

Holy shit I didn't even notice that, what a dumpster fire.

that kind of puts to bed any rumors about why they had the rail on in the first place. so what took them so long to offer this model?
I don't see this price anywhere, from any dealer, there's also no archive of this price existing on gundeals. Not even on the Century Arms website.
The frick are they up to over there?

That's how much the FFL pays for the gun. They mark it up, and sell it to you.
I just paid $1152 for an AP5-P (MP5k) so the gun store sold me an MP5 for a whopping $36 profit. (Pretty typical, gun stores usually make less than $50 off a G19 or G17 sale)
Century has been running a $200 rebate on any AP5's purchased from March through August, basically meaning you get $200 back if you buy one.
These new base model AP5's though don't qualify for the rebate.
With how they priced them, you can tell they just kind of factored in the $200 rebate already.
This has been like the 4th price drop they've done on these, lmao.
At the rate Turkey's currency is tanking, it makes me wonder if we'll reach sub-$1k MP5 clones.
>reach sub $1k clones
You mean their actual worth? lol
Just in time for PTR to finally get rid of the ugly welded-on pic rail that people have been asking for ages,
great timing on their part, lmao. >MSRP: $1795
Yeah, they just put PTR out to pasture.
MKE are as good or slightly better than an SP5 (they use the military front pin which reinforces the mag release way better)
They're also <$1200 right now
How are these?
I don't trust ptr or century and none of my local store will even try to get me an SP5 on order and I don't want to pay the online mark up.
>I don't trust ptr or century > or century
Lmao, morons like you don't deserve nice things. To not have figured out, in 20fricking22, that there's a difference between century made and century imported guns is hilarious.
I get the difference. I just don't trust Century period.
It's almost as if slapping your name on enough dog shit creates a distrust in your potential consumers.
I've got two of these. Bought them at a fun show for like ten beans each. They're fine, but not really anything particularly special.
They've got HK stamped on the side for street cred and that's their only advantage over Magpul or lancer.
There's usually a lug on the receiver to block installation of a factory, select fire control, you'd have to modify either or, but there would only be a single pin to keep them joined
Gotta move that inventory. If you want one I'd honestly recommend one, they are fun to shoot with a binary trigger.

MP5s last basically forever, the guy is just trying to stir up shit.

Yeah, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Like what if the trunion was actually cream cheese?
naturally the receiver would be a bagel than
>Laughter in NASA MP5 with 450k rounds on it
>heck wearing wiener
this, people realized it is just a fricking stamped piece of metal that has inferior ergos in 2022 and they can build a SBR that absolutely mogs the mp5.

Hoes mad.
unless your have a fleming sear, nobody cares about semi-auto cope PCC
Cope, seethe, and Scorpion evolate.
They heard I just bought a pof for $1400
Meh pof is pretty solid tho
My MKE's safety lever just broke off before I even got it to the range, good thing I have an ambi one on the way already but not exactly promising
They are now offering a "base model" which only includes the gun and one magazine which is what is selling for $1100.

Anon, where would I find a MKE MP5 selling for 1100? Or you mean with rebate. Have been digging but I can't find it.

Link?
This is the price sheet they sent out to dealers.
The margins on these are pretty thin.
Did they just kneecap PTR?
Is the MP5K really that much worse than a full size for recoil?
Just in time for PTR to finally get rid of the ugly welded-on pic rail that people have been asking for ages,
great timing on their part, lmao.

Checked
Based Turks, I'm finally going to buy an MP5 (if I'm fast enough on the draw).
What do you mean isn't eligible for the $200 rebate? Are you saying you can't SBR it or something?
Century has been running a $200 rebate on any AP5's purchased from March through August, basically meaning you get $200 back if you buy one.
These new base model AP5's though don't qualify for the rebate.
With how they priced them, you can tell they just kind of factored in the $200 rebate already.
>RIP to all the morons that bought one of these when the MSRP was $2700.
when century first started putting them in catalogs MSRP was like 3500, more than an SP5 lmao
This has been like the 4th price drop they've done on these, lmao.
At the rate Turkey's currency is tanking, it makes me wonder if we'll reach sub-$1k MP5 clones.
>reach sub $1k clones
You mean their actual worth? lol
>PTR
>American made MP5
>$1800
LOL
are they worth it over the PTR clones?
Who makes the best MP5 clone? Are there a company like PTR but for MP5s ?
MKE are as good or slightly better than an SP5 (they use the military front pin which reinforces the mag release way better)
They're also <$1200 right now
Okay, damn. Where MKE is located?
Turkey, MKE is the Turkish military licensed HK factory the germans built back in the day.
They're being imported by Century Arms.
>buying a knockoff H&K
This is how you stay poor forever.
My vp9sk is my favorite carry gun
>416
Based, but MKE are made in an HK factory, and don't have the cuck pin.
>images you can hear
Where are my POF bros at?
literal terrorists, kek
How are these?
I don't trust ptr or century and none of my local store will even try to get me an SP5 on order and I don't want to pay the online mark up.
They're emptying the warehouses for them CANiKS boi.
They have great finishing.
just curious, why would you think a pakistani firearm would be better than a turkish one?
Every Pakistani I've met has been a Chad. Given, 99% of them were from the Defense Housing Authority.
>I don't trust ptr or century
> or century
Lmao, morons like you don't deserve nice things. To not have figured out, in 20fricking22, that there's a difference between century made and century imported guns is hilarious.
I get the difference. I just don't trust Century period.
It's almost as if slapping your name on enough dog shit creates a distrust in your potential consumers.
You're considering POF over MKE because you got touched funny by memes about a company. You deserve everything you get.
right here fren
In all honesty they aren't that bad, I'd take over a PTR
The PTR is so shit compared to every other option
What do you mean bad? They are literally licensed by HK. Stop freaking out over redditors posting an ugly weld.
PTR isnt HK licensed
I was talking about POF, PTR is garbage
Their 308's are shit too
Nword chicken
Hk sells nothing of any value in a modern context for the us consumer
I've got two of these. Bought them at a fun show for like ten beans each. They're fine, but not really anything particularly special.

Can the new ones accept the full auto triggerpacks?
There's usually a lug on the receiver to block installation of a factory, select fire control, you'd have to modify either or, but there would only be a single pin to keep them joined
Bro. Learn how MKE semi-auto guns are built before giving your opinion.
They're the same as Zenith import MKE, you need to cut the bolt block to insert a full auto bolt.
link? i’ll buy one rn
Should I? Anybody have pros and cons?
They're completely sold out
reeeeeeee just noticed that
neither of those guns are legal in new jersey though, how could this photo exist
