Why did H&AIDS discontinue them? They were one of their few modern civilian market offerings that actually seemed worthwhile as more than just a novelty or a base for an expensive aftermarket conversion job.
They're what the Ruger Mini and all the shitty overpriced M14 repros wish they were. They were more reliable, way more accurate and had way better build quality.
Bet they'd make bank off these in ban states if they were to bring them back in both the original and a slightly updated configuration with polymer furniture and Picatinny railz OOB.
semi auto with wood are just not profitable anymore with everyone wanting an AR
It makes me sad looking at my fn49, hakim, MAS, garand, etc knowing that these types of guns will never be made again
it makes me sad too Anon
Why bother when there is a better American alternative that you can get for $400 today?
I had one of those. complete garbage rod. It was the most unergonomic rifle I've ever owned.
I own one, it's fine, you are just a bitch
Nah its a piece of shit. I'd take any modern sporting rifle over it. I actually traded it for a ruger bolt gun. It makes a better hunting rifle.
sneed pussy
Whatever fudd. Keep your garbage rod.
Vaginaboob.
I will not elaborate.
>$400
I just looked on fuddbroker and they're all $1500+
>semi auto with wood are just not profitable anymore with everyone wanting an AR
That's why I said they should make them in both the retro wood furniture and a modernized polymer version like Ruger does with the Mini series.
>shitty, expensive outdated "retro rifle with ugly polymer and rails
I sense a winner
Ruger Minis and M1As are the same deal and they both still sell like hotcakes, especially in places with laws meant expressly to restrict or prohibit standard configuration ARs.
Not uncommon to see a bog standard used Ruger Mini go for over $1000 in a ban state and M1As go for even more both new and used.
Don't underestimate the ban state and Fudd markets. Ban states are not only heavily populated, they're heavily populated with super high earners that have as much disposable income as they lack common sense.
Why buy a shitty German replica for 3k when you can buy a shitty American replica for 1k?
>ywn a new H&K 270 in .22lr
=(
>Roller delayed blowback
There goes your reloader market share.
>implying I wouldn't buy one purely to spite...those people
Raus, Messingkrabben, Raus!
Roller delayed = cases cant be reloaded
Small proprietary magazine not shortened G3/HK33 mags, so cant be tacticool or a herd-culling rifle
Market is only Euro-style driven-standhunting where game appears in cleared lanes for brief exposures maybe needing fast follow-up shots
Euro markets often limit semi-autos or military calibres, and limited mag capacities as above, or all three.
= the niche they filled was too small to be worthwile
>Market is only Euro-style driven-standhunting
It's actually not. The intended market was sport-shooters and reservists having a G3/G33-esque rifle complying with former laws (Anscheinsparagraf).
Long story short, guns couldn't look like military weapons, therefore they were made to look more civilian. Same reason HK made the grey SL8. Law got pruned, now we get military looking guns.
SL6 and SL7 are shooting like a dream, it's a shame they don't take 20/30rnd mags.
Because you suck and they hate you. AKA they don't want to sell to civilians too much, they're afraid it will dilute their brand or cause bad publicity when some school gets shot up with an HK.
But also because
German hunting law says you can hunt with a semi auto only if the mag capacity is 2 rounds. It's fucked up, but it is what it is, and that makes it useless except for very specific needs. Most hunters consequently use bolt action rifles.
>German hunting law says you can hunt with a semi auto only if the mag capacity is 2 rounds.
Wrong, it's forbidden to use semi-autos LOADED with more than THREE rounds. At least by federal law, no idea what your retarded state laws say.
That doesn't exactly make a practical difference, does it? Is this some kind of sore point for hunters who get called out for large cap mags?
It encourages the to take better aim and generates a "fairness" towards the game animals.
Otherwise it's actually useless as fuck. I wish I could load more to cull raccoons and foxes more effectively.
>German hunting law says you can hunt with a semi auto only if the mag capacity is 2 rounds
Again, you got that wrong.
Capacity doesn't matter, you just can't load more 2 in the mag and 1 in the chamber.
There's basically no market for it.
It was aimed at rich euro fudds, but fudds in general aren't interested in a semi.
Rich fudds buy Blasers.
Middle class fudds buy Sauers.
Poor fudds buy Remingtons.
Like two people a year will buy a rifle whose sole selling point is "it looks like a fudd rifle but it's actually a semi".
>Be in the market for a semi auto .22WMR
>See picrel on YouTube
>Find out they sold them in my country, but they discontinued them decades ago and they’re absolute unobtanium
>Never make anything like it ever again
Why is H&K like this?
