The 243 is not an SL8 and doesn't need any 'converting' unless you're really hung up about the barrel not being 'correct', it's also not sold in the US AFAIK.

They're not shit, just not as good as an AR-15, yet two-three times the cost.
I've seen several videos on them just simply running worse than when they weren't converted. These are very small sample sizes but they're enough to make me not trust them.

Mexico is actually allowing more arms export lately (they're now exporting armed drones, 22s and handguns) so maybe. They did recently unveil a semi auto version of the FX05 for cops and security guards but no notice if that will be on sale to the general public.
