Why do they exist? I'm talking about Volquartsen Summit (picrel), Vudoo, etc. They easily cost above 2k but you can only hunt hares and tetra birds with it lol

$2000 isnt shit to someone who lives on an estate and brings in $300-700k yearly. People spend the same amount on hobby instruments like the viola and the clarinet that only have specific applications.
>implying 300-700k annually is even remotely the norm
Well the first question is are they fun, do people want them. Yes, they are super fun. Next question you ask is basically "but that price is too high!!!". The response is that you are just too poor. You aren't the target market. Porsche sells $15,000 "heritage" print pattern for their seats. To someone working minimum wage, you are saying "your total savings for three or four years will get you this neat color fabric that others don't have". Is that worth it? FRICK NO. But to someone making seven or eight figures, is that $15k for a neat fabric a good deal? Yes! It's basically no money and they get to see that cloth each time they get into the car and think about how much they like it.
Great analogy. Like do you give a shit when you buy something for $1.50 or $2.00? That's what that it's like for the target audience. Maybe even just $0.12.
She cute tho
bad post, friend.
The same reason audiophiles who pay $5k for cords exist.
Bro, you ain't went there. That's like saying PSA is just as good.
Bro you ain’t been paying attention in your English class
what action should I get for a nrl22 gun? vudoo, rimx, or just get an anschutz?
I had a $100 Marlin 60 from the 90's that was literally 1/2 MOA with CCI mini-mags and a 9x scope. Maybe it was the micro-groove rifling or maybe I got lucky, don't know.
I gave it back to my Dad because he wanted it for something. Wish I had just bought him a different one lol.
I shot my dad's marlin lever action 22 all the time growing up and could reliably hit pennies and nickels at 50 yards.
My experience with shitty Marlin 60s is similar. They're stupid accurate for what you pay.
I think it would be much more fun to build a custom 10/22 than to buy a prebuilt $2k rifle. You could build something pretty cool and completely custom for half that amount.
>I think it would be much more fun to build a custom 10/22 than to buy a prebuilt $2k rifle.
That's because you are garbage yourself. You are one of teh dumb moronic c**ts that flooded into internet gun forums amid Chans who know very little about guns and can't shoot. To you cheap shitty just good enough crap like junk 10/22s with stupid gonsumer parts and PSA ARs with rail kits a re just as good as Anschutz, CZ, Tikka, sako etc. You're the death of civilisation and excellence in human form.
>you can only hunt hares and tetra birds with it
this anon is not israeli
>Volquartsen Summit
>Vudoo
>high-end
Just wait until lil Anon learns about Anschutz.
It's for making .22 holes very accurately
because there is this thing called 'sport shooting' where people try to shoot a .22 as close to the center of a target card as possible.
and with everything that has ''sport' in its name, there are brands shitting out 10k$ 'precision equipment'
>/k/: weapons
>why do people target shoot?
i hate this place
some people like nice things. why do $2k 1911s exist despite being jammy piece of shit safe queens?
There's high end examples of literally anything anon, from carpet to cars. There's no reason to expect rimfire rifles to be any different. Why would they be any exception?
I think the more interesting question is where does this strange attitude that 22 guns must be cheap come from? It's pretty common. Someone will mention a nice gun and someone else replies:
>well yeah, that's nice, but I'm not spending $500 on a .22
what? Why? Why would one gun suddenly command a lower price than another of similar quality simply because the round it fired was smaller? There's no logic there.
.22LR is low power, so the gun doesn't have to be built as well I think. That's my guess anyway.
actually building a gun that is safe to shoot is trivial at a very low price even for full powered cartridges. just look to tbe mossberg and savage entry level boltguns
22s are mostly cheap bc they’re most innacurate with bad triggers, but so many people want 22s for use cases where that doesn’t matter much: shooting cans at 10 yards and squirrels at 15.
on the other hand, when people buy a 308 they want 2moa at LEAST and that’s where the money is
you can take the cheap bastard pill, and realize that for almost all real use cases - eg hunting and self defense - 4moa is perfectly adequate and available extremely cheaply.
See, that's what confuses me.
>I just want to shoot cans and stuff at 10 yards, I don't need a fancy expensive gun.
Makes total sense. But surely those people must be aware that other people may want to shoot cans or squirrels or whatever else at much greater distances than 10 yards, and therefore they have a need for much more precision?
people consider it mostly for children is why
the whole thing is a uniquely american viewpoint that confuses me as well, rare moment where i agree with the euros
>people consider it mostly for children is why
That just replaces one question with others.
For starters, why would a 22 be limited to only kids? Sure it's a great starter for teaching young shooters, but it's not like a 22 is only useful for that purpose.
And now we're getting off topic, but why would "cheap" be associated with children in this case? Sure, I get that some children's things you probably don't want to spend a lot on since they'll be outgrown so fast, but nobody outgrows a 22, if need be start out with one in a child's stock and then drop the action in a bigger stock when they get older; in fact you can even work on the project together.
idk man, like I said, it’s uniquely american firearms culture. I myself spend thousands of dollars on airguns bc I agree with your premise
People aren't hunting with those guns anon, they're competing with them.
It's exactly the same in Canada. Outside of the hardcore small-bore target shooters,.22s are largely considered to be guns you use to teach kids how to shoot
its an american thing that .22s are for backyard plinking only
Just get eight Ruger 10/22s for the same price and call it a day.
I dunno. The Valmet Orava feels nice though.
>you can only hunt hares and tetra birds with it
Not true, I hunt feral cats and meth heads with mine.
I'm 100% sure your IQ is under 80.
Things I've killed with a .22
>rabbits
>squirrels
>turkey
>geese
>ducks
>raccoon
>possum
>a badger
>skunks
>weasels
>cats
>dogs
and that's with my great grandpas old as shit .22 that he used his whole life too.
