I heard about this story but I never read the original text, thanks to you for sharing it
It is also this story that made me want to tame crows
I plan to eventually befriend some. But Im thinking of always wearing a particular outfit, mask, and hat so I can bail on my plan if it goes south
The story is bullshit, crows usually don't form murders that big, and they don't kill each other in mid-air, and they'll peck the eye out of their murder-bros to get at good treats. You can train a singular crow - to an extent. I could believe the first part of the story, even though murders usually don't share areas that close.
I had a murder in my backyard. I'd chop up hot dogs or throw them meat scraps. But I got one killed, because one day a golden eagle swooped in and snatched one while they were fighting over the meat, and killed it in front of all of the them (around 10). They were screaming their beaks off, but wouldn't go near the eagle. (The eagle started ripping it apart, then flew off with it.) The next day, no crows. They haven't been back since. Now I have butthole bluejays shrieking at neighborhood cats and squirrels instead.
>The story is bullshit,
First week on PrepHole?
Back in the spring I was working at home when I heard a commotion outside the window. It was like every bird in the area suddenly lost their shit and went insane screeching. I look out the window to see that two ravens had raided a robin's nest and each had stolen a hatching. One of the ravens was flying away, obviously burdened by the weight of the hatchling held in its beak. It was being chased not just by the robins but also by every other small bird in the area. The second raven had landed in the yard with it's hatchling. It kept looking up for attacks from other birds, but they were all focused on chasing the first raven. It would look up, see nothing, and then look down to peck at the hatchling squirming for its life. It did this for a couple of minutes until the hatchling was dead, then it took off and flew away with it.
I wasn't sure if they were crows or ravens but apparently ravens usually hunt in pairs so I'm guessing they were ravens. Either way, they weren't scared of my owl decoy. I need to add some sort of motion triggered movement so the birds don't get use to seeing it and ignore it.
came here to post World War Crow
obligatory
Peanuts (unsalted) are the best in my area. If you want to REALLY treat them, give them pistachios and they'll remember you forever.
Okay then I'd do that, maybe sunflower seeds too
Will he be able to feed himself after getting used to me feeding him?
He will not be able to return with the other crows, he will be attacked?
