hello /k/, i am new to this board and firearms in general. i'd like to take classes to learn how to shoot and eventually get my own gun for self-defense. i don't know anyone IRL who has a gun, so learning from a friend is out of the question. so i was thinking of visiting a local gun range that offered classes and take a small gun course.
however, the issue is that i am indian and i'd stick out like a sore thumb at a gun range. do you guys think i'd be able to go to a range and learn or would i get beat up for being brown? i want to learn but i dont think its worth it if i'd show up and get jumped because i'm not white

idk man, i have been hounded by methheads a few times in the last couple months while walking to work, that's why i want to get firearm training in the first place
damn for real? i dont know what an LMT is but that sounds like an expensive loss. stay safe out there. maybe i should drive a couple hours out to downtown and find a range there, but then i'd have to deal with black people

Yea be careful, I'm also an Indian and I got jumped at the range. Lost my LMT and a Glock. Now I just buy the cheapest shit because at the end of the day it's just as good.

you could just buy a gun rn nothing's stopping you. I bought my first a 10 22 without any classes or training and just took it to the range and learned. might not work for you since I'm the main character and have gabriel the archangel watching over me.

When I had to get training to carry for work I had been shooting for over a decade, i was self taught due to lib parents and after a short amount of actual training I was shooting better with my left hand than I did with my right hand. Seek training, it's available, call local gun ranges and see what they offer and god speed anon!
