But what else am i going to use the used motor oil for? Just sift it through a few coffee filters and voile', easy gun lube. Breathing is overrated anyways.
Or you could just not be a poorgay and buy a bottle of rem oil that will last you at least a year.
Being autistic about gun oil is way more cringe than being austic about motor oil for a car.
Motor oil for moving parts, linseed for non-interacting surface. Literally need nothing else.
Motor oil has a lot of additives that should not be present in a firearm oil.
10W-40 is the ideal oil for lubrication of pistol slides. if you think otherwise you are a homosexual.
if you dont like the smell of Ballistol Universalöl you should have a nice day.
If you knew what 10W-40 meant, you might know why you are wrong.

I use Delvac diesel engine oil with a touch of Mobile 1 high performance grease. The hotter it is outside, the higher I go on grease, never more than 10%. Colder it gets the lower I go on grease. 5% floor from 20°F average then I stop using grease from -5° and down. When conditions are extra dirty I spot grease directly critical points. Running an LMT308MWS, out of the +3k rounds I've run I've had only 4 failure to feeds. No other malfunctions even under extreme conditions and use. Those 4 all happened in one day using shit ammo. 20 round Pmags for my standard rounds. 10 round Pmags for my special stuff. Have a .338 barrel to swap quickly into .338 Federal. I only push those suppressed just a hair below supersonic with a 300 bullet grain. Even with the cleanest primer and powder it gets nasty pretty quick. Yet even running hard on that configuration, I've never had a failure with the .338 barrel in.
I used motor oil because I figured all synthetic oil was the same. However, this stuff is actually much better. After a single range session the motor oil would dry up and it looked like I never lubed it at all. I tried Mobile 1, Rotella, Amsoil and they were all mostly the same. With the meme coom oil the gun is still visibly wet after a few hundred rounds. It also stays put much better than motor oil and doesn't creep all over my pistol like the motor oil.
>implying nogun normie opinions are worth listening to
>implying YOU were EVER worth listening to
Motor oil works fine for cleaning and lubrication.
Shit starts to stink if you're using it for a semi-automatic at a gun range that isn't a fud pen where "full auto" is 1 shot per 4 seconds.
You know how lead can cause cancer? Well you see heated up motor oil is just as bad.
