Well at least a loaded, cocked 1911 won't shoot your dick off when you touch a piece of clothing while holstering it. Same goes for DA/SA pistols and DAO ones - both with hammers and strikers.

    >Carrying a SAO pistol with one in the pipe and not a single manual safety that keeps it from going bang as soon as the trigger is touched
    >Somehow morons try to tell you you just need the right holster

Call me old school. But Glocks and comparable SAO striker fired guns (I don't care how many "safeties" they allegedly got) without manual safeties are a liability in my opinion.
    >inb4 keep your booger hooks under control
Most striker fired SAOs got very light triggers. You don't need a finger to fire them.
    >inb4 disengaging a manual safety might get you killed
Yeah because it's soooo hard to train your muscle memory so you automatically disengage a thumb safety while drawing your gun.
Fact: If you grab a holstered gun in a way that allows you to fire a round you grab it in a way that allows you to disengage a manual safety.
I got no other problems with Glocks, they're neat guns with giant aftermarket support. And I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they offered something like a 29 with either a manual thumb safety or a 1911 style grip safety.

morons try to tell you you just need the right holster
yes, are you retarded or what? the main concern is a foreign object accidentally coming into contact with the trigger, yes? a solid (literally solid, i.e. kydex) holster that completely covers the trigger guard makes the probability of this zero. guns don't magically fire on their own. so, what's the issue?

        Anonymous

Your gun doesn't sit in a holster all the time. Does that mean a manual safetyless gun is dangerous outside of one? Even if I have perfect trigger discipline, that doesn't mean my finger is always doing the pulling. Could be somebody or something else. There was an account in Massad Ayoobs Combat Handgunnery where a cop had his gun stolen by a crook who tried to magdump him only to fail because he didn't disengage the safety. Ignoring the issue of the crook seizing the gun altogether, at least it worked out for the cop there.

Wrong. Glock marketing teams just made you believe that it either doesn't need no manual safety or has enough other safeties.

        >the glock is a double action striker firearm
If a Glock were a DA pistol you wouldn't have to cock it by racking the slide. Because, guess what, Double Action means you pull the trigger and this movement cocks the striker (or hammer in other guns) from zero to bang. Are you dumb or something?

The P30 paddles specifically are some of the best mag releases you can get. They're extended so you can hit them with your finger without adjusting grip. They kind of make more sense since they go inside your holster so an accidental mag unseating when carrying isn't possible, and accidentally dropping a mag when gripping under stress is far less likely. Also ambidextrous.

I wrote Technically a skill issue because pistols, unlike rifles and shotguns, are unlikely to phisically disable (target may simply give up when they get shot though) someone unless specific things are hit like the spinal cords, brain, heart ecc. , and on top of that are harder to shoot accuratly then long guns
