Aesthetically it might be the most kino town in the US. I went here with a group of normie friends and did some car camping, rope course stuff, and tried whitewater rafting for the first time. It was fun but Idk what kind of hardcore PrepHole stuff there is. Especially considering you're like 30 minutes from the DMV metro area.

If I may kindly ask, what's the best town near a forest, where it's nothing but dense forests on one end and everywhere else, lush grassy countrysides?

        I have a list
I'm not going to tell you. I've already seen a brown person in my town today and I still feel dirty and disappointed.

Sadly Harper's ferry isnt actually a town, its more like a theme park. Everything closes super early and nobody actually lives in the town. If you were to move to somewhere near Harpers Ferry youd probably only go into the "aesthetic" downtown area when people are visiting, and spend the rest of your time in the surrounding suburban shitholes like charles town

I live in nearby. There is a good bit of fun stuff you can do there.

You can do all sorts of hiking. There are also caverns to explore. You can raft as the other poster mentioned, you can fish, you can take the free ghost tour by the church on the hill. The APP runs right through the area so you can walk that. You can do the C&O and take that as far as DC if you wanted.

It is what you make of it.

So what areas, would you say, are as close to an arcadia as possible, and by that I mean a house living atop a hill with a forest behind them? That sort of thing?

              >its rolling hills on either side of the three mountain ranges
Well I'm working on a book and I'm trying to pinpoint a good place that has a house upon a hill, forest behind it (let's say leading to the Appalchian Trail) and town/civilization isn't that far a walk...of course, I've been pulling my hair trying to find any locations that match this so if you can fix that issue for me, do so.

ffs be straightforward then instead of trying to make a vague indirect request for locations.

No need to get nasty. Just tell me an area that is close to town AND the forest areas but isn't like a suburb or culdesac, ya know, a peaceful rural area between the two, within walking distance. I TRIED looking on Hamilton Street but no dice. Some of the houses are also like an hours walk OR drive away, which makes me wonder why anyone would even bother moving here.

This shouldn't be difficult but I'm just scratching my head trying to find the perfect spot to put in my book for realism and, well, I'm asking anyone around for their two cents.

on weekends all the DC suburbanites crowd this place because of the "aesthetic". Avoid the tourist trap areas, and you'll get an actual PrepHole experience

This seems to be a recurring issue, not just on PrepHole, but I was also on the international board for unrelated reasons and they warned me about this in another country.

List all the tourist trap areas to avoid if you'd be so kind

Stay at the campground on Bakerton Road and make the 25 minute walk along the river into town for drinks or whatever. Don't bother with driving into town in the busy season, there won't be parking.

Weverton Cliffs is a worthwhile short hike across the two bridges. Loudoun Heights is the less crowded hike reachable from town, Maryland Heights is the one with the often photographed view of town itself. Bass Rock is a well-known swim/fishing hole near the Exxon on the Virginia side, but again good luck with parking. Cycling on the C&O Canal towpath if you're into that

Harper's Ferry is a town on the Iowa side of the Mississippi that's full of drunks.

It's a blast to visit like twice a year to get fucked up and do extra stupid stuff on the water and cliffs.
It's solely for getting shot faced on the river ha

I never thought I'd find someone who knows Harpers Ferry, IA. I'm not a fan, but my family recently bought property there. The address is Harpers, but it's Wexford. I don't like drunks so much and would prefer to live closer to Waukon, McGregor, or Marquette. Be sure to go to that bar across from a mini mart. Their burgers are seasoned very well. You wouldn't think burger seasoning is a thing or important, but it's kind of mind-blowing.
