Gun stabilization in an IFV

Is it important? Is being able to shoot on the move really such a huge advantage over comparable systems that can’t shoot on the move?
Vidrel is how accurate stabilized turrets have become

    common sense would say yes
why would you think otherwise is the real question

An argument I heard on here a couple of times. The poster claimed that firing on the move isn’t taught or used ever but I keep finding videos of people doing it and even gunnery tables that require it

well regardless there's no downside to being able to shoot accurately while moving right
and you can presumably still shoot while the vehicle is stopped too

Probably just some nationalistic moron defending whichever piece of shit non stabilized platform he likes. I wouldn’t read too much into it

Warriortard samegayging rhetoric about arguments that were discussing vehicles from the 80's where only shit stabilisers were around.
Honestly you are just too transparent.

It’s incredibly important. A non stabilized gun is part of the reason the warrior and marder IFVs have such bad reputations

        Good eeeeeevening sirs.

BMPs can't even shoot that accurately standing still. I don't know how often firing on them move is actually taught, but the way Ukraine does thunder runs I can picture a bunch of moving Bradleys wrecking Russian IFVs without taking a lot of incoming fire.

It’s taught extensively in any kind of modern armored unit

This isn't even suppressive fire, this is just wasting ammo

That seems to be a recurring theme with russian military hardware.

Very important. All other things being equal, a moving target is harder to hit than a stationary target so shooting accurately while moving is a good way to keep your guard up while still killing the enemy.

They’re moving at pretty good speed and those targets are at 800m according to the uploaded. That’s incredibly impressive when you consider a lot of IFVs today couldnt hit one of those shots moving at a much slower pace

        >They’re moving at pretty good speed

        They really aren't lmao.

        >and those targets are at 800m according to the uploaded.

Nowhere does it say that, and it's clearly false as those targets are 200m away tops. Have you ever spent time outside? are you incapable of measuring distances yourself?

Anon there are 3 or 4 western IFVs that currently cannot do what the Bradley just demonstrated. Being a sitting duck in combat is a massive flaw.

Why are you trying to compare this picture with OP video. For scale in the video you have a BFV, and for scale in your picture you have a person.

go outside. Have you ever even been to a sports match with some kind of pitch?

Yes, being able to suppress or destroy AT equipped infantry, ATGM teams or enemy IFVs on the move is important both on the offensive and when on the defensive like in a ambush.

This post is going to make a lot of British military enthusiasts angry because the British warrior can’t do what we see the Bradley doing in the video

so now you can piss off a MBT and get blown to bits by it while moving, instead of having to stop to piss it off.

In the heat of battle, when all is at stake,
The weapons we wield, must never forsake,
The trust we place, in their power and might,
Can mean the difference, between defeat and flight.

The warrior IFV, with its feeding clip,
A design flaw, that causes a slip,
Three rounds at a time, it must reload,
A critical delay, that can be foretold.

The Bradley IFV, with its chain gun,
A superior weapon, that outshines the sun,
Dual feeding, with a steady flow,
A constant barrage, that never slows.

    The warrior's clip, a hindrance, a flaw,
A moment of vulnerability, a deadly draw,
The Bradley's chain gun, a steady stream,
A weapon of choice, in the battle's scheme.

The warrior's clip, a limitation in design,
A disadvantage, that leaves it behind,
The Bradley's chain gun, a superior choice,
A weapon of power, that we must rejoice.

So let us take heed, in the weapons we choose,
For in the heat of battle, we cannot afford to lose,
Let us choose wisely, and with great care,
For victory in battle, is the ultimate affair.
