I use 3-in-1. Always have. I also use Rusty Duck Gun Cleaner. Never had any issues.

It's about more than lube anon, I live in the devils asscrack and NEED corrosion resistance. Preferably without smelling like a mechanic all day
for corrosion control I use eezox, and the previous post as lube
for long term corrosion control I use CRC marine spray/cosmoline

Cleaner vs. the Ed's red lube formula may be the issue. OP asked for gun oils mainly. That being said ER is good old school stuff that works well.
