I heard these had some gnarly quality control problems. Did the Poles fix them?

Now if only they'd finish their military contracts and send some rifles over to the US

Whole bullshit was about preproduction units, Axel Springer and Onet was sued by producer have to apologize for the lies and pay. the case was loud as Ukraine was looking for new carbines and "by accident" in a portal controlled by the Germans, fairy tales about a broken carbine began. Funny shit, ukrainian use grot now and there is no problems with them, also Axel Springer and Onet are oddly quiet kek

Whole bullshit was from civilian users who bought their guns and later had issues where factory didn't wanted to replace fricked up parts covering themselves that blown up bolt in two parts is user fault

Yes. I saw an interview with a Polish volunteer, and he said he was using M4 before but it was flimsy, hard to clean in battle conditions and was unreliable. Then he switched to GROT and is very satisfied with it. He specifically mentioned that article criticizing the GROT and said it's complete bullshit.

Fricking shame the basedjack incarnated doing the interview hasn't mastered the English subtitles.

This interview needs to be translated and shown to all morons that keep saying "tanks are irrelevant on modern battlefield cuz muh javelin".
Also lol'd at that part where he says they got 10 nlaws but the country who provided them didn't include batteries for them.

It's been over a decade since they revealed them, I think their not going to be imported any time soon.

I hope that that tool isnt necessary for conscripts because I'm sure they would deform the pieces with too much force.

You'd think the bayonet would function better if rotated like 45-90 degrees. You're not gonna be shooting and stabbing at the exact same time, you'll be able to adjust your grip in between, rotating it would allow you to get your whole body weight into the stab

Bayonets are antiquated, anyway. Would love to see footage in the last 20 years of a bayonet being used in combat.

        >Combat
Not really used in combat anymore. I know the Brits had a successful bayonet attack or two in Iraq some 18 years ago.

But mainly, it's for crowd control. When you've got a skirmish line of soldiers protecting something and a lot of protestors, nobody wants to get within a certain distance of bayonets because they don't want the crowd to surge and be the ones inadvertently skewered in the guts or chest. Bayonets help maintain distance in crowds.

Huh, good point. Funny to think moronic protesters are more afraid of a knife than a gun pointed at them, though.

Knives/blades have been around long enough to elicit untrained genetic level dread. Kind of like fear of spiders, snakes, wild fires, or heights.

death by bayonet is way slower and more painful. i mean, i'd rather just get shot

You can get up in a soldier's face and take the gamble that he won't shoot, and he probably won't. However, a big frickoff knife strapped to the front makes getting in that close a bit less enticing.

i get the ability to switch out some parts or switch out barrels if they get damaged/worn
but the thing where you change the position of the grip from in front of the mag to behind a mag is a total waste of development.

My guess is that it may have been a way to have both conventional and bullpup rifle ready for a potential bid in case MoD comes up with a requirement for either one of those setups. A big chunk of Polish defense industry had already been fricked by MoD changing their mind at some point. I suspect the whole "modularity" thing is a way for defense contractors not to waste money put into R&D in such case, as at least some parts of a project can be salvaged.
It could also be the other way around - this feature may have been introduced specifically to rule out competition. IIRC Grot is the only weapon system designed from ground up to use a common bolt and receiver for both conventional and bullpup rifle. In all other aspects it's just a basic b***h short stroke gas piston 5,56 rifle. It is rumored that Borsuk IFV was built to be amphibious so that it does not have to compete against CV90/Puma/ASCOD etc. in a bid for BMP-1 replacement.

thats what i was thinking too its to cover all bases because the client keeps changing what they ask for
also to have them pick it because 'you can change your mind later'. like if they order the guns with long barrels and stocks and soldiers complain that theyre too long they can order a short version without ordering a whole new gun.

That bayonet looks weirdly fixed. Wouldn't it fly off if a bullet were to fly out?

Bullet hits the bayonet and sends it fly towards enemy stabbing him
