its a 1 shot adapter that you can use in the gp 24 launcher of the ak. you can use any kind of munnition used by hunting shotguns. its a 1 shot thing so no reload against a fast drone its pretty useless if the drone operator know what you are using and makes you miss

How long before we see the first suicide using one of these?

I will first aknowlege that this is a new frontier so Maybe they will prove me wrong.

    good luck with this.
if it shoots light birdshot a skilled shooter could 100 percent down one of the fpv drones we see often toying with the orcs. but it would take a very practiced shooter. to say nothing of the " knack" . some people can, with a little instruction, be busting clays with in 5 minutes of picking up a shotgun. and others never seem to get it. even for those with the inclination, something that maneuvers and varies speed would be a very tough target. I have seen people shoot 20s on standard trap then fail to hit a single bird when we swap out mini clays, or move to skeet. and those are all still moving in a single direction at constant speed. to be the guy that can constantly shoot 23/25 on trap, skeet, and sporting clays requires tons of practice. I used to shoot around 200 clays a week and I couldn't touch the guys that shot twice that. I suspect that if they are really fielding this thing, it's just for psychological purposes. to make the soldiers feel like they have a chance. I would bet shoot downs are extremely rare.

and if it does shoot light shot it will be useless on grenade droppers. they are too far from the muzzle for the shot to be effective. you could remedy this with a larger shot more tightly patterned, but in doing that you will sacrifice the ability to smoke the fpv drones at close range.

    >tldr this is a safety blanket

      >be busting clays with in 5 minutes of picking up
just see how good the average shooter is at a fresh sports clay course with no retries.
      >missed one?
      oh well, you're dead.

        >just see how good the average shooter is at a fresh sports clay course with no retries.

My first time was at a bachelors and I was pretty drunk by then and we were running out of time on the range, so we rushed through the 50 meter course with 4 clays at a time using browning auto 5's. I got 19/24. It was my first time using a shotgun. I think shotguns are much more intuitive than rifles or pistols. I think most guys averaged about 12-16/24 but I had at least shot rifles before where most of them hadn't.

              >I shot clays once, it's easy
              >this means I know how everyone shoots
go to a clay range, and sit and watch how bad people are. you just don't know what you are talking about and are getting mad screaming from the top of mount stupid.

The drone is getting closer to you or an ally in order to kill you. Even with those misses he'd have better chances to take it out than skeet shooting.

better chances than relaxed, on a clear and sunny day, at a range, calling for the brightly colored target that comes from a predictable direction and flies a predetermined path while under no risk of bodily harm and no worry about accidentally hitting a good guy?
are you certain that it's easier to hit an FPV drone in a war zone in combat than a clay pigeon on a skeet range?

Yeah those 5 misses were when I was shooting 4 clays with 4 shells loaded, meaning I don't get follow up shots. If I had 4 shells on one target that's bigger than a clay I'm pretty sure I would be able to hit it. Also like I said, that was my first time firing a shotgun, so the implication was that if you train someone for 2 weeks they would probably do fine - since as mentioned, you only need to make 1/4 hits or whatever size magazine you have. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but I am basing it on actual experience.

                >called the targets
                >no one shooting at you
                >no friendlies downrange
                >brightly colored target
                >predictable paths
                >slow speed
yeah, your one range day is far more challenging than combat.

that's kind of my point for non claygays. the guys that make it look easy shoot a ton of practice. Just handing thousands of guys a single shot shotgun ( and a shitty one at that) will probably result in close to zero shoot downs. unless they are also going yo give them 250 practice shots a week for a few years. and even a seasoned practiced shooter with all that experiance would struggle with a drone shot.

I've often wondered if there's some way to use high visibility shot. Perhaps mix some phosphorus in such that you can actually see where your pellets are going. Obviously Russia is too poor and dumb to use such technology, but I was always curious if it existed at all to help people train on clays.

Aside from night time shoots you could just have hi-vis orange. You're able to see your shot while blasting clays with normal colors now imagine if half were orange.

idk who is that guy but yes, it seems like a cool solution if every infantry got one of these instead a specialized guy with high tech gear.

If a drone is close enough to hit with a shotgun you're already fricked.
