all my surplus
I would havw to agree. My sks and my stock 92fs have been good to me. I just seem to always have bad luck with modern products. Im wondering if top dollar stuff is really worth it or not
We live in a “post-quality” age where most of the stuff you buy is made somewhere cheaply and rebranded expensive. This is most common in clothing and tech, but stuff in the gundistry like ARs is comparable. I feel like the big manufacturers are trying to keep up production at the cost of QC so you end up with a lot of guns with simple problems.
I’ve bought $800 revolvers with burrs on the metal, $1000 bolt gun with a sloppy sticky bolt. Its kind of a crapshoot.
My best advise is shop around for deals so you get that $600 gun for $400 and if you’re paying MSRP for something make sure its from a company with great customer service.
Most of my 22s have worked flawlessly.
Beretta U22 eats all the shitty 22 i can feed it, including a mixed bag of ammo that sat in my dads shed for 15 years in a sandwich bag.
Savage mk2, shoots great and is a blast.
Heritage rough rider. $120 for a gun that ive shot over a thousand rounds through and cleaned maybe twice.
Same. Only my Garand had a couple malfunctions, which was caused by the gas plug being super loose. It wasn't screwed in enough.
Only thing I've had real issues with was a freedom group era 870 and a cheap poly80 build, everything else has been fine including glocks, colt and ruger revolvers, berettas, sigs, mossberg shotguns, and several Frankenstein AR builds.
this
>tfw can sell any of my surp for at least 10% more than what I paid
It’s funny, 870s are the only shotgun I ever see complaints about. My ex cop uncle gave me shit when I got my mossy 590 saying the Rem was much better. Definitely no regrets.
All of my guns have performed well. If it was shit I’d sell it.
this. and only ones I've sold were either jank or covid profiteering, like a PTR91 with all the good furniture for 1800 smackaroos
This. One of the only guns I ever sold was a DP-12 shotgun. The fucking thing jammed itself every other round and I couldn't fix it no matter what I did. I've owned almost 20 guns in my life, and it's the only one I ever have full regrets purchasing.
aero
glock
cz p10x
benelli shotguns
Outside of limp wristing and bad ammo no gun I've purchased from those 4 has malfunctioned more than once every couple thousand rounds if that
The guns l have didnt malfunction but some of the accessories lve bought or some stuff that isnt stock that turned out to not work quite as well
I bought surefire, streamlight, trijicon etc and haven't had any issues there either.
My steyr aug.
I’ve never once gotten it to jam or fail.
jelly; I want an AUG one day.
My heritage rough rider has been surprisingly reliable and extremely accurate. Also my Rossi 92 has been very reliable and smooth. Maybe I just have great luck relative to some of the reports of these models that have been out there.
I have a dissipator upper that's pretty fun, but it hates steelcase
CZ 452 Lux, it just fucking works and is a joy to shoot. Literally 10/10 will keep forever.
Back in 2011 Finnish police finally ordered that from now on, every officer will carry a semi-automatic pistol. No more revolvers, even if you would want to carry one.
Around the same time, me and my dad were in a gun shop. And we noticed that in the "used guns" section they had a Ruger GP-100 in sale for 300 euros. And I went something like "Uu! Big badass revolver! Me likey!" and I asked if I could take it in my hand. I wasn't even serious about buying it, I didn't have en extra 300 € on me to spend, and you have to have a permit for buying a gun which has to be approved beforehand by the police.
But the moment I took it in my hand I fell in love with it. It felt like it was made for my hand. The balance was just right. And it was in good-as-new condition! They said it was used, but I could not see a single mark of use. We checked the gun thoroughly and the barrel was in immaculate condition. If they had told me it was brand new, I would have believed it. I wanted it instantly.
Dad must have seen the look on my face, because he whipped out his wallet and brought out his "Collector's licence" (a special licence that lets you buy pretty much any gun, even full autos). And he bought the revolver right there and then.
He said to me that "you get yourself a licence for it, and it's yours. Until then, it stays in my safe".
When we were inspecting the gun, we noticed that it had a small extra mark on it. It was a lion head, the same as the Finnish Police use in their logo. It was one of those service weapons. Some officer had been rocking that Big Iron as his service gun on his hip like a god damn sheriff as he walked the streets!
He must have used it for only a year or two and shot it very sparingly, as we needed a magnifying glass to find out any marks of use on it.
Later I got the licence and true to his word dad gave it to me. Didn't even want that 300€ I offered for it. It was the best purchase I know of! And I love it to bits!
Very cool story. A GP100 was also my first gun. It was my grandpas that I inherited as a graduation gift. Definitely one of my favorite guns to shoot. Stupid accurate and soaks up recoil like a boss.
your dad is cool
Pretty much everything except my turkshit shotgun has been fine.

Heritage rough rider. Bought it on a whim because it was on sale for like $99 including the 22 mag cylinder at gander mountain like 5 years ago. It finds its way into my range bag almost every trip. Just a fun gun
Everything has been fine except:
1. Chink shit accessories from amazon are always bad
2. Every single used gun I've purchased has had a problem, even if it was not immediately apparent after purchase. I will never buy used again for any price.
3. I've had 3 Ruger LCPs (different versions) over the years and none of them ran reliably from the factory. Ruger's RMA process was painless and fixed my problems, but it's still annoying.
Anything Hogue
>grip for my GP100
>pistol grip and forend for my mossy 590
>sleeve grip for my pistol.
They have hands down the best feeling grips for dirt cheap. Borderline criminal what they are able to do.
Gotta say I think their G-10 grips are worth every Penny. Fit perfect, peak function and aesthetic.
so far, everything but my tristar cobra iii force 12 gauge
PSA AR. Shit still runs thousands of rounds later.
Bought an extremely crusty first gen LCP from a pawnshop for 175 with a holster and a box of questionable ammo.
Clerk had no idea if it functioned and it needed deep cleaning so I was able to haggle.
Ran through a mag after cleaning it, added the pocket clip and have been carrying it since. Pretty happy considering my low expectations.
These have been breddy guud tbh. Made my P365XL essentially a glock 19 and is better than stock. Totally worth it.
I built an AR 10 from scratch very carefully and by the grace of Allah It's jammed less than five times on over the last five years. It's muh baby.
radical firearms rf 15
it go bang every time
coyotes take dirt naps
Have a shitass stevens 320 and I've shot around 250 rounds thru it(not much ik) but it works for sitting by the bedside and maybe hitting a random squirrel or rabbit
