Good looking gun. Looks beefy.

Good looking gun. Looks beefy. They should make a full sized 45 version with a threaded barrel and their optics ready cutout to compete directly with the FNP 45 as an “offensive handgun platform” type deal. Looks like it would be perfect for it.

    >optics ready cutout
You wouldn't believe how hard I laugh at you optics-on-CC-pieces gaylords. Like seriously: You're getting scammed by the industry, nothing more.
Just ask yourself how far you will probably have to shoot if the need arises. We are talking about 15 yards max. Shit like the 40 yards mall shooter proves the rule.

      >about 15 yards max
try 5 to 10 at the most. same with the dipshits carrying 2+ spare mags for a 15+1. chances are homosexuals like that also carry 2 knives(1 fixed, 1 OTF), 2 lights(1 on the gun, 1 spare), bunch of zip ties, zippo(even tho they vape), a "tactical" pen, can of mace, a notepad and a steri pen for 10 years "just in case" which they have never had to use and even if, they wouldn't know how to. it's basically accessories for dudes, difference is everyone looks at you like the moron you are when they notice your batman-tier utility belt.

The PDP is a fricking joke. All they did was take the PPQ, increase the size of the slide by 50%, and add sheepdog citizen soldier marketing. But judging by how much I see about the PDP vs what I ever saw about the PPQ, the marketing worked. The PDP does absolutely nothing better than the PPQ, Walther just needed to relaunch the gun for the present day where appealing to larperators is the name of the game.

Making the slide taller so that normal sights will cowitness with your dot is a completely reasonable response to market pressures.
Ideally they'd be able to convince people that suppressor-height sights are compatible with most holsters worth buying and won't throw off their point of aim enough to notice, but we don't live in an ideal world.

Making the slide taller was one thing, but I'm mostly bothered without how they sacrificed the nice slide that tapered at the top in favor of a fat, squared off slide just so optics gays wouldn't have to complain about using a widened mounting plate.

If it were me, I'd have boxed out the back half of the slide to appease the opticgays but kept the front half svelte.
Of course, I'd also cover the entire slide in 20 LPI checkering instead of any gay-ass serrations, so maybe I'm not the right person to ask.

It's been explained to me that knurling is done on a lathe and wouldn't be practical on a pistol slide, but that doesn't change that the optimal grip texture, or something close enough to it, has already been found and handgun manufacturers are (seemingly deliberately) ignoring it.
