Going Hun-10

(You) are in charge of an interim task force meant to defend humanity from an emerging monster threat. Field tests for dedicated anti-kaiju weaponry are expected to begin in 5 years, and until then, you will have to make do. Luckily, there is a blank checkbook at your disposal, as well as the total cooperation of any currently existing military industrial complex or stockpile of munitions and material. Nations will allow some of their arsenals to be requisitioned, but only limited amounts of modern equipment are available.

Ongoing international friction has prevented a clear picture from being formed about the monsters, with intelligence networks being hesitant to release information to foreign circles. That being said, land-based, water-based, and even beasts capable of flying are confirmed to exist, although their actual abilities are unknown. EMPs, lethally radioactive blasts, and anything else that can be imagined is not off the table.

So anon, what will (You) do to combat these threats? The eyes of the world are watching

Excellent, keep them coming. Mecha Godzilla should be in Seattle on Thursday, fire a few Minuteman IIIs and don’t tell anybody.

Well since you're being vague I'm going to assume as a standard whatever it is cant be significantly penetrated by tank rounds or Hellfire missiles, i.e. you need much more than 1000mm RHA penetration to kill one.

Nukes are piss for energy density, like an HE shell it spreads out all over the place, so it's not going to be great at penetrating anything giant with a body stronger than steel. To get good penetration with a nuke you're going to need to have some kind of lensing effect, i.e. like a Casaba Howitzer or at the very least some kind of primitive shaped charge.
16in guns are unironically more likely to penetrate deeply into a Kaiju than a conventional nuke, though obviously a nuke is worth a try if it's what you have.
Even if you argue the Casaba Howitzer is off limits due to developmental time, an engineering team should be able to put together a simple lensing system for a nuke in a couple of days at most, which will still magnify it's penetrative powers by a factor of ten.
Other than that, It should be extremely simple to quickly rig up some large scale conventional missiles with shaped charge warheads rather than HE. A 1000 pound HEAT warhead should penetrate fantastically, and current models of HE bombs go up to around 20,000 pounds or explosives.
Also, there's always the option of ramming a hyper-sonic missile into whatever you're fighting at mach 20. With an object the size of a trailer at mach 20 even something that laughed off a ten megaton blast at close range would get a hole bored through it.

Besides things that already exist or can be made to exist at short notice
Large scale APFSDS rounds, scaled up for use in 16 inch guns or larger, would have phenomenal energy density, capable of penetrating an absurd amount of armor material, and wouldn't take all that long to develop.

Railguns and rods from god style orbital weapons are an obvious suggestion.

There are supposedly triple digit kilowatt lasers that already exist, a 1/10th watt laser can permanently blind someone instantly. Focus multiple 500KW laser arrays on their eyes and see how they like that.

Quickly develop an "orbital shotgun" that can cover an entire area of at least 5 times the kaiju's footprint with relatively tiny depleted uranium rods from LEO

I wonder how much RHA you could punch through with a 10 ton HEAT warhead.

I would really love an 4x RTS-style game where you fight giant monsters
    >Command and Conquer/Red Alert sprite-based artstyle
    >have a big strategic map with different cities/areas over Japan
    >map zooms down into a Command and Conquer-style battle mode for each city when a monster attacks
    >you mostly use conventional military units
    >group units of tanks/aircraft/infantry into taskforces to deploy from the strategic map and control in combat in the CnC-style map
    >throughout the game you can research new units and technologies like maser, laser, and hover tanks, bioweapons ect that each have pros and cons vs different monsters
    >maybe a giant robot as an end game unit
    >have to budget R&D vs reconstruction of damage from monster attacks
    >some maps are based on cities, some maps are mountains/open field
    >responsible for evacuating civilians from target areas - more dead civvies = less funding
    >face different types of monsters, some can fly, some are radioactive, some are immune to guns but weak to lasers
    >not all of them are kaiju, maybe fight giant ants on some missions or something
    >play things mostly straight, no goofy cartoony shit like in Red Alert 2 or 3 but more like Tiberian Dawn or the OG Red Alert
    >low budget FMV cutscenes

Well first I order my jets and helicopters to fly within punching range of the monster, then I have my tanks park right in its path and make no attempt to relocate as it stomps at it slowly.
When this somehow results in massive losses I blame it on the power of the monster and not my own utterly moronic choices. Then I go to an old abandoned facility and get GIANT UNLOADER BARGA
Then beat the PISS out of that homosexual lizard.
