Stock, grip mainly. My favorite rifle happens to have a polymer lower that saves weight but doesn't rely on a moronic monolithic design. Because ounces make pounds. The more shit you carry, the more work you need to do. The more work you do, the more energy you need. i just went ahead and weighed my own toothbrush since im assuming you wont answer. mine weighs 15g. so you saved yourself 6-7 grams or 1/4 of an ounce.
what percent weight savings do you gain by removing ONE QUARTER ounce from a 60lb pack? i went ahead and crunched the numbers for you. you save approximately 0.026%. not 2% not 0.2%.
now i dont really care about the practicality of doing this to your toothbrush because it costed you nothing and it performs exactly the same as a normal one. but what annoys me is the mentality. what do you do when weight savings come with a real tradeoff? well it depends on the weight and the tradeoff but this fuddlore type of thinking is vastly overvaluing weight savings.
in short; the only noticeable thing cutting your toothbrush in half did was make you look like an autist.

All I'm saying is your whole argument is based on a pic of a destroyed gun from a catastrophic ammo related explosion that can happen to any gun. If you can't see why that's a flawed position then you are a brainlet,
I am a machine gunner. I carry normal kit. You are gay.
>buys telescoping stock >leaves it at A1 length anyway
I have a two position old tube on my main AR so I use the stock all the way out since its my only choice but you have to be moronic if you think that removing your ability to collapse your stock for storage/clearing tight spaces is somehow a good idea. The only way its reasonable is if you are getting a rifle length tube out of it and you arent in the case of the KE arms lower. Its a stupid idea with a stupid gimmick, just use a pencil barrel if you want lightweight
I built a rifle on the KP-15 for fun/competition/cyotes. There's room in my vehicle for uncollapsed stocks. IDGAF about the adjustability. I have other rifles that are more flexible. This one is super light and extremely apt to hit multiple/moving targets because it's like holding a toy. The lower is great when you're employing it on purpose.
What sort of upper do you have on it? In hindsight the only extra feature I needed from the WWSD lower I bought was the PDQ lever and maybe the cool trigger, but the pencil barrel and carbon fiber handguard are totally worth it
It's such a difference from aluminum and government profile
ive got a C7 upper on it. The WWSD complete rifle is even gayer than just the lower

a complete kp15 lower sells for about $200, only slightly more expensive than a complete PSA lower.
but it's definitely higher quality and weighs significantly less, and the monolithic design makes it stronger.
slap on an aero upper and you've got a good carbine for about $600.
a complete PSA rifle is actually $800, so you save money in the end.

the aero atlas S-ONE handguard weighs the same as a carbon fiber handguard of equal length, for half the price.

had to push myself to listen through it, apparently the opposing counsel got up and left when Karl started listing historical examples of stuff that had features GWACS claimed were their IP.
The fact they're going after Brownells and the original CAV arms guy really shows they have nothing and they're trying to grift.

it's not really worth watching. the tl;dr is:
- GWACS stopped being an active business
- some investor seems to be paying the legal fees likely expecting a payout
- their position is literally only built on "we bought molds for a polymer lower".
if it makes you feel better he didn't do anything to be on the right side, it was just the default. And I wouldn't say there's really a winner in all this either. It's all kinda stupid and pointless

The investor is funding it because "muh AR-15 bad" as far as I hear, actually
is there a public reason why inrange and forgotten weapons parted ways? they always had highly autistic chemistry that was painful to watch but im still curious
Ian is a busy man now and is booked for travel all the time. In range tv was always Karl's brainchild and Ian was just there a lot because they're friends.
I have no idea how he put up with karl for so long. That dude is reddit mitwit incarnate and even being around him at those silly 2 gun events his channel runs on was a pain. Either ian was desperate and had no one else or he thought karl could help him franchise out.
well i might believe that except ian manually removed inrangetv from the channels tab on forgotten weapons, if he was just too busy why would he do that? also ians been to the 2 gun match and didnt do anything with karl. cant use the excuse of being to busy if youre standing right next to each other
Ian started getting more busy with his books and managing Headstamp among traveling for his videos. So eventually he couldn't keep jumping on InRange regularly.
You know GWACS is lawsuit is funded by Reed Oppenheimer, gun grabber who thinks all AR-15's military weapons and don't belong to civilian hands. He probably knows his court case is shitty, but he is doing it to cause harm to gun manufacturer.
Officially Ian is too busy with Forgotten Weapons and books, my spider sense is tingling and says he wanted to distance himself from Karls politics and various freaks that have started to show up on InRange at least publicly because it might piss off his viewers and patreon simps.
The Cav Arms lowers were originally from the 90's with Colt testing polymer lowers as early as the 70's. If Stoner wanted a polymer lower, he'd have designed a polymer lower when he worked with Reed Knight.
A lot of polymers were pretty bad in that era, tbh. Even the soviets had to make their AK's purple for a while because black dye ruined the strength back then kek.
It was never their intellectual property though, it was never anybody's intellectual property
The only barrier to making this sort of lower is the engineering hours required and the costs of setting up the tooling
its a good product, who cares about the personality behind it?
same people who complain about the kp15 being plastic don't give a frick about every modern handgun, the SCAR, or pretty much every bullpup being half plastic.
>its a good product, who cares about the personality behind it? >pure mindless sperging
pure mindless consoooming. No I will not buy a product a satanist had his hand in
i bet you also think you're saving the world by putting a can in the recycling rather than the garbage.
nobody cares about your meaningless protest, it accomplishes nothing.
>that born-again PrepHole christian who needs a mortal religious enemy to stay interested so they decide to go after satanists, because it has satan in the name
I was wondering why you never see these sorts of lowers anymore apparently everyone is suing everyone involved with it. Makes you wonder why this can't be done with a 3d printer out of spite
>why this can't be done with a 3d printer out of spite
There's a significant difference between vibration welded high strength industrial polymer and what's coming out of an at home 3d printer
I was at my gun club a few months ago and saw a guy running drills with a WWSD. He offered to let me run a magazine through it and I was shocked at how good it felt. The stock length is precisely where I set my stocks to, the Magpul is my preferred grip. With a 20 round magazine, the weight of it feels like a fricking Red Ryder BB gun. I ordered one from Brownell's a month later. I paid $1487 for it with a $120 off coupon code. There's a reason why WW2 G.I.s dumped their Garands for M1 Carbines when they had the chance.
Apparently KE already was sitting on the original polymer lower molds/technical data long before the inrange wwsd stuff. Direct your Karl hate at the upper, Russell and KE probably would have made the lower anyway eventually.
So is the KP-15 good? I don’t give a flying frick about who invented or who stole from who, I want a affordable lightweight rifle.
I guess, they're having a sale rn. Only negative I've heard is some of the lower parts are proprietary like the safety.
Yeah, they are. I got one. Light as balls and sturdy. As long as you're okay with an A1 LOP, they're good
Yes, it's based and doesn't make a rifle feel front heavy.
No, it's moronic. Fixed stock and if you break it mortaring your rifle then you need a new lower, so therefore a new "firearm" whereas you could just replace parts on a standard aluminum lower. This shit is a meme and anyone that tells you otherwise is a first time AR owner or a noguns
Because statistically speaking your average American engages in lots of outdoor and reconnaissance type activities in suburbia
Its slightly lighter than a aluminum lower, but without any of the adjustability of the aluminum.
I have one. It's good for what it is. It's not an infantry rifle, though. Save it for fun/competition/varminting.

now i dont really care about the practicality of doing this to your toothbrush because it costed you nothing and it performs exactly the same as a normal one. but what annoys me is the mentality. what do you do when weight savings come with a real tradeoff? well it depends on the weight and the tradeoff but this fuddlore type of thinking is vastly overvaluing weight savings.
in short; the only noticeable thing cutting your toothbrush in half did was make you look like an autist.
Yeah but looking like a tryhard is highly valued in his backpacking community
Out. Fricking. Skilled.
I've cut a few tooth brushes. It made it fit better though in a pocket on the exterior of my pack.
king shit
All I'm saying is your whole argument is based on a pic of a destroyed gun from a catastrophic ammo related explosion that can happen to any gun. If you can't see why that's a flawed position then you are a brainlet,
>I'm a MG gunner
yeah that checks out
>buys telescoping stock
>leaves it at A1 length anyway
I have a two position old tube on my main AR so I use the stock all the way out since its my only choice but you have to be moronic if you think that removing your ability to collapse your stock for storage/clearing tight spaces is somehow a good idea. The only way its reasonable is if you are getting a rifle length tube out of it and you arent in the case of the KE arms lower. Its a stupid idea with a stupid gimmick, just use a pencil barrel if you want lightweight
What if I want both
Is that the od green lower I see.
I went the same with my up-15
Yeah
I built a rifle on the KP-15 for fun/competition/cyotes. There's room in my vehicle for uncollapsed stocks. IDGAF about the adjustability. I have other rifles that are more flexible. This one is super light and extremely apt to hit multiple/moving targets because it's like holding a toy. The lower is great when you're employing it on purpose.
let me guess, it's the only AR you own?
no I own like 4 ARs, that one is just my favorite
ive got a C7 upper on it. The WWSD complete rifle is even gayer than just the lower
I have a few.
I have an Aero enhanced upper on it and a DD 16" LW profile barrel.
Why are you answering questions as me?
>Why are you answering questions as me?
roll call everyone answers
do you have anything that's actually good
no
I think my PRS rifle and this short frankenAR are cool, but I do not have a Kak/HK/LMT AR so, "no."
the answer is just no, you only own trash guns
>gets shot
>realizes it was with a psa upper
>pulls bullet out because psa haha poors
you really think life is like that huh
These two posts next to each other is very funny
>fricking consoomer
>nooooo you're not consooomerist enough
a complete kp15 lower sells for about $200, only slightly more expensive than a complete PSA lower.
but it's definitely higher quality and weighs significantly less, and the monolithic design makes it stronger.
slap on an aero upper and you've got a good carbine for about $600.
a complete PSA rifle is actually $800, so you save money in the end.
I'd recommend building your own upper but yeah
The carbon fiber free float and pencil barrel really add value
aero doesn't have carbon fiber handguards
Roll your own, faxon and KEArms both make the handguard I'm using and it fits on an aero precision upper just fine, as well as plenty of other people make carbon fiber
You know that it doesn't all need to be from the same manufacturer right
i thought you were saying the aero upper had a carbon fiber handguard and a pencil barrel
No, I'm sorry that came out wrong
I think that the only real value add from the WWSD thing is the carbon fiber handguard and pencil barrel with the polymer lower
the aero atlas S-ONE handguard weighs the same as a carbon fiber handguard of equal length, for half the price.
you could also get a national match free float sleeve and use a clamshell handguard which would cost even less at around $100.
Didn't know about these options. Thanks, anon.
Is it possible to use the clamshell guard without a FSB? Honestly feel like they are still a totally viable option considering the only thing most people need to do is just strap a light to it, and there are options for that.
yea,. it would just look moronic.
Yes. You can even free float your barrel.
I'm not the guy you're replying to, but you just solved a 13 year long quest. I can now clone my childhood cod4 M16
Aren't those deliberately very heavy?
no, they have weights for that. it's 16oz because it's sheet steel, but you could drill a bunch of holes in it and that would solve the problem.
I'll give the aero thing a shot sometime but I'd rather look like I have a parasocial relationship with a Satanist cuck than use something that looks like an A2 handguard
you can put whatever clamshell you want in it. a1, magpul, even those BRN-10 handguards. which would look sick as hell with the OD KP15.
I've already got a LuthAR A1 handguard and I'll give that OD green thing a shot sometime
I'm buying one of Mike's 604 uppers so I bet that would look sick
>calling Defiance trash
>implying others are noguns
defiance action?
Yes, a Defiance Tenacity.
It's about optimizing the rifle's balance. It is a competition/varmint rifle. I am not taking it to Fallujah. I don't understand why this is so difficult to comprehend.
What sort of upper do you have on it? In hindsight the only extra feature I needed from the WWSD lower I bought was the PDQ lever and maybe the cool trigger, but the pencil barrel and carbon fiber handguard are totally worth it
It's such a difference from aluminum and government profile
A pencil is too light for suppressed use, the gunner profile from faxon or any other light weight contour is superior imo.
I don't want a suppressor they're kind of heavy
I'll probably suppress something that's better suited to it
She looks like she fricks human men
That explains the "why gwacs sucks" video that popped up in my youtube feed.
had to push myself to listen through it, apparently the opposing counsel got up and left when Karl started listing historical examples of stuff that had features GWACS claimed were their IP.
The fact they're going after Brownells and the original CAV arms guy really shows they have nothing and they're trying to grift.
>going on reddit enough to recognise losers there
go back
I hadn't even watched it, I figured it was just karl up to his usual bullshit. Kinda surprised that there was actual merit.
it's not really worth watching. the tl;dr is:
- GWACS stopped being an active business
- some investor seems to be paying the legal fees likely expecting a payout
- their position is literally only built on "we bought molds for a polymer lower".
Dammit, I don't like having to acknowledge karl being on the correct side. Is there a way this can go that sees Brownells win but karl loses?
if it makes you feel better he didn't do anything to be on the right side, it was just the default. And I wouldn't say there's really a winner in all this either. It's all kinda stupid and pointless
Eh, I'm not really invested. I just like memeing on karl the cuck. Anyone who lets his wife sleep with other men deserves two lifetimes of mockery.
The investor is funding it because "muh AR-15 bad" as far as I hear, actually
>got up and left when Karl started
The lawsuit looks pretty bogus, but I really can't blame them; that homosexual is annoying af.
I tend to give people more leeway than most but man Karl has gotten so bad.
Yeah he’s gotten pretty pompous from huffing his own farts over the years. I don’t even bother watching his WW vignettes anymore
Quite frankly Idrc if the lower is good, I just wanna see Karl lose and seethe while slinking away into obscurity
is there a public reason why inrange and forgotten weapons parted ways? they always had highly autistic chemistry that was painful to watch but im still curious
Either ian was desperate and had no one else or he thought karl could help him franchise out.
well i might believe that except ian manually removed inrangetv from the channels tab on forgotten weapons, if he was just too busy why would he do that? also ians been to the 2 gun match and didnt do anything with karl. cant use the excuse of being to busy if youre standing right next to each other
It was removed because he's not affiliated with the channel anymore. This isn't some conspiracy Ian talked about it too in a few q&a.
karl pls go, ypur bull needs fluffing
Ian started getting more busy with his books and managing Headstamp among traveling for his videos. So eventually he couldn't keep jumping on InRange regularly.
You know GWACS is lawsuit is funded by Reed Oppenheimer, gun grabber who thinks all AR-15's military weapons and don't belong to civilian hands. He probably knows his court case is shitty, but he is doing it to cause harm to gun manufacturer.
Officially Ian is too busy with Forgotten Weapons and books, my spider sense is tingling and says he wanted to distance himself from Karls politics and various freaks that have started to show up on InRange at least publicly because it might piss off his viewers and patreon simps.
>note to self
it's sometimes cheaper to mothball your junk than to sell it
WHAT STONER WOULD DO ALREADY EXISTS
IT'S LITERALLY CALLED STONER RIFLE, FROM KNIGHT'S ARMAMENT
THAT WAS IN THE 1990’s.
Even the soviets had to make their AK's purple for a while because black dye ruined the strength back then kek.
you forfeit your intellectual property if you cease manufacturing it and refuse to license it
:^)
It was never their intellectual property though, it was never anybody's intellectual property
The only barrier to making this sort of lower is the engineering hours required and the costs of setting up the tooling
GWACS was literally trying to claim IP on A1 LOP and QD mounts kek
>What Would Communist Cuck Do
Why are you still paying attention
its a good product, who cares about the personality behind it?
same people who complain about the kp15 being plastic don't give a frick about every modern handgun, the SCAR, or pretty much every bullpup being half plastic.
pure mindless sperging
>its a good product, who cares about the personality behind it?
>pure mindless sperging
pure mindless consoooming. No I will not buy a product a satanist had his hand in
i bet you also think you're saving the world by putting a can in the recycling rather than the garbage.
nobody cares about your meaningless protest, it accomplishes nothing.
>two years later
>still seething
have a nice day.
ngl I kind of want to get the lower and a vseven upper to make a competition rifle. It would be stupid, but fun.
>homosexual commie Satanists getting rekt
Good.
>that born-again PrepHole christian who needs a mortal religious enemy to stay interested so they decide to go after satanists, because it has satan in the name
I am not Christian, I just hate commies and leftists, which means I hate Satanists as they're the exact same thing
I'm literally a gay furry
>self-hating leftist has a mental illness
every time
>leftist
what the frick are you talking about?
i'm talking about you being a gay furry
>your sexuality determines your politics
what?
what if i just can't stand women?
they're quite annoying.
homosexuality is intrinsically anti-conservative
homosexuality is fricking gay
yes
ok and?
women are also anti-conservative by default, but i don't see you b***hing about women
Suck start a shotgun homosexual
not an argument
thats why you take away their rights
refer to
Oh shit mrcummy was Charles ?
>that moron contrarian take on Satanism
This thread sure brought Karl’s patreon piggies out of the woodwork
I was wondering why you never see these sorts of lowers anymore apparently everyone is suing everyone involved with it. Makes you wonder why this can't be done with a 3d printer out of spite
It can but the result will be shit
Also pretty sure everybody's still selling them
http://www.kearms.com/products-for-kp15
>why this can't be done with a 3d printer out of spite
There's a significant difference between vibration welded high strength industrial polymer and what's coming out of an at home 3d printer
All this pathetic b***hing missing the point.
WWSD look like shit, thats why it should die.
idk i dont own one and dont really give a shit about it but the aesthetic is the only reason i'd get one tbqh
I'm going to put a 604, an A1 handguard, a brownells retro scope, and a 20 in pencil barrel for my next upper
even though i like the lower a1 handguards look like buttcheeks
You are incorrect
I was at my gun club a few months ago and saw a guy running drills with a WWSD. He offered to let me run a magazine through it and I was shocked at how good it felt. The stock length is precisely where I set my stocks to, the Magpul is my preferred grip. With a 20 round magazine, the weight of it feels like a fricking Red Ryder BB gun. I ordered one from Brownell's a month later. I paid $1487 for it with a $120 off coupon code. There's a reason why WW2 G.I.s dumped their Garands for M1 Carbines when they had the chance.
Except you're comparing two M1 carbine variants rather than two wildly different rifles in terms of weight and handling
Apparently KE already was sitting on the original polymer lower molds/technical data long before the inrange wwsd stuff. Direct your Karl hate at the upper, Russell and KE probably would have made the lower anyway eventually.
Karl and Ian bringing attention to it proved that the demand for the product could exist
>redditors are still trying to justify this plastic toy gun because it weighs a couple ounces less than a aluminum lower
Heh that's right, damn kids and their Tupperware Mattel trash. Get a real gun like a 1911.

moron
Gwacs doesn't even make their shit anymore and the design change is by far different enough then theirs. They just want a piece of the pie.
Yeah, that part of the conversation is over, we've all started talking about how cool our KP-15 is
Is anybody thinking of getting a KP-9 or
>Christcucks
