Saddam was a monster. Rumsfeld and the rest of the gang were actual morons, but I will admit he needed to go. That doesn't excuse the invasion or any of the other shit that went down after, maybe if Bush Sr finished the job back in 91, or we found a less overt means of getting rid of him things would be different, but the CIA shot themselves in the foot by helping him back in the day just because we were pissed at Iran

        >It's fricked up how pro-american "Saddam" Iraq was at some point, and so ware the people, and how drastically it changed.
Saddam was pro-american because neither of them liked Iran and America extensively helped saddam in the Iran-Iraq war with with intel and material.
But then Saddam decided to frick with the oil and assumed that western countries would turn a blind eye for whatever reason and that was that for Iraq being tolerated.

        >Saddam was a monster.
That's a child's mentality. The majority of the US's allies in the ME were and still are brutal dictatorships or monarchies of some description. More, so Saddam was no threat to the US, UK et al. in either in mentality or means, up to the point where evidence of threat had to be manufactured to justify the war. There was no credible reason to attack Iraq other than it made a lot of money for the some people.

Perhaps, but Saddam in particular harassed everyone else he bordered. Its not necessarily that he killed people (that played a role) its that he was a complete ass to everyone nearby. It would be like having North Korea as a neighbor, except instead of it all going at South Korea and the poor fish of the Sea of Japan its everyone they border.

The guy was just an butthole who relied on the Big Bad imagery to paint himself as the only man bad enough to keep Iran at bay.

That console is actually really important to the life support system and needs to be manned and monitored continually. However the engineer that designed the death star couldn't find a better place to put it, in part because they designed the death star without any life support at first and didn't realize they forgot it until a week before construction started. Didn't have time or budget to do it better.

Despite being extremely important they man it with the least important and least responsible sailors.

They're leftover WW2 naval air defense helmets, like the blasters are Sterlings and the starship cannons are 40mm pompoms. Even the sounds are looted from WW2 tracks only the tracer bullets are changed to energy bolts.

They’re certainly evocative of those “talker” navy helmets but I don’t think they’re made from them, they seem to be fiberglass scratch builds

It still saddens me how most of those prop guns are chopped up WWII surplus.

Don’t feel too bad. Plenty of the blaster props were resin molded replicas, only the ones seen close up were built from surplus and often in non-destructive ways. I can’t really think of any that were mutilated permanently, remember these props were rented after all.

IIRC the CIS was actually at a severe demographic disadvantage because their territories mainly consisted of the sparsely populated Outer Rim territories whereas most of the Mid-Rim and virtually all of the Core Worlds and Hutt Space remained loyal to the Republic or neutral at worst, made even worse by the fact that they were fighting a literal army of clones. The adoption of an army primarily comprised of mindless automatons was in part an attempt to make up for this deficit.

    >insano Saddam's son's KGB inspired secret police

Saddam went to Moscow in the 70s as interior minister and learned the tricks of the ComIntern trade. Those guys did organized crime as part of the terror sauce, shit going to shit only put them in their natural element; they were entrusted with COIN and secret weapons caches and bases to deal with a distributed uprising of various secessionist groups. Walla.

Presume each of these fan made variations have an III-A visor (handgun rounds, shrapnel, bird/buckshot) and the surrounding helmet is rifle rated and padded (but will probably still concuss you).

Which would you find optimal? What add ons/tech would you include with one base to take advantage of its features? sci-fi star wars shit is allowed of course.

Stormtrooper helmets look so lame compared to the original Clonetrooper helmets.

The dumb fat faces, baggy eyes and grille mouths all look awful.

Isn't it that lore-wise there was pretty much constant improvement in gear from the original clone trooper models?

Like, Kaminoans who made the first iteration clone troopers were brilliont as cloners, but not very good to design armors for baseline human. So the original clone trooper gear was kinda clunky and uncomfortable and not very ergonomic. And it was constantly upgraded based on battle data reviews and feedback from clonetroopers so newer models were less shit.

I wouldn't know. I actively avoid star wars lore because every person I know who was serious about it as a young adult has failed to keep their shit together after growing up and is now a mess of a person. Same like how almost every pedo arrested has been a trekkie.

I'm sure I'm inverting cause and effect here, but you can never be too careful. Stay winning, LotR and WH40k chads.

Nope. The plastoid composite was markedly worse than what the more alloy-based plating Phase II Clone Troopers used; Phase II would had continued to be used for the Galactic Empire if it wasn't for the fact Kamino defected. Phase I suits it could be an arguable improvement over in ergonomics, but neither Stormie armor nor Phase I were known to be comfortable to wear.

Doesn't matter, Storm troopers look like shit.
Everyone knows the most important part of your imperialist death squads is them looking badass.

I heard (can't remember where, so it might be just fan-lore?) that the death star had received a batch of helmets which had shit communicators. Like, the company which made the helmets used a cheaper sub-contractor which used sub-par components, so they had a lot of cases where helmet comms just failed.

This was a known issue, so everyone kinda knew that it might happen. That's why the officer who asked why TK-421 wasn't on his post just accepted that "oh frick, another comm is borked." without a second thought. The whole batch of helmets were eventually recalled and new, not-so-shit helmets were issued once they arrived from the factory.
