German engineering

I thought that they were supposed to be somewhat good at engineering… but apparently Poles created a much better and more reliable mobile artillery unit than them?

AHS Krab is a British AS90 turret mounted on a Koreak K9 chassis, calling it Polish is a stretch. Also it has a slower rate of fire than PzH 2000, it's technically inferior.

        >I’m French
CAESAR is not even comparable, no autoloader, no armor, slower rate of fire

there's a reason why the Ukrainians ordered 100 more PzH 2000 after using them, plus 18 RCH 155, which is even better

          >slower rate of fire

          >there's a reason why the Ukrainians ordered 100 more PzH 2000
The reason to buy more PzH is that Germany gives money to buy weapons from German manufacturers. France did similar few weeks ago with 100 million euro for weapons from french manufacturers.

Depends on year/model, but even then they go through accessories, bushings, like no tomorrow.

Gasket and pan leaks are common, valve cover gaskets need to be changed like a boxer but it's even more annoying to do so.

Personally even if it was used and well maintained I'd stay away unless you're going for a engine swap and treating it like a good frame.

Lexus is surprisingly middle of the road when it comes to maint, but I've never had or worked on what so cannot really say.

530i's are sketchy used unless you have paperwork for what's done to it, primary reason are the turbos. They're shitty and can go bad around 80k and can need to be refurbed. However they're stupid expensive OEM so most people don't refurb/replace OEM or ignore the problem entirely and you get metal in the block.

Sorry working from home so my spelling is moron level.

If you do go for a used 530i try taking a look at all records and what was recently done, especially sensors as well or look for anything harness/wiring related. There's been some random electrical problems in the e60 models but not sure about the 2008 one.

                afaik 530i e60 don't have turbos (M54 or N62 engines)
anyhow i'll get a good look around

                Anonymous

The N54 had a turbo, same with the diesels but you're right n62/m54 did not my bad.

Either way definitely look for anything electrical related and maint records. A WELL and I mean super duper well maint engine from that era should be fine without a rebuild in a near foreseeable future depending on the mileage. Generally you'll spot them for sale around 110k-140k miles since that's when it gets close to that point with standard maint.

But if you really baby it and change fluids damn near religiously around 3-5k miles it'll last a while, if the previous owner took extreme care of it it'll be okay. But personally I'll never buy one unless I'm throwing an LS in it.

It's your money and your happiness, do what's best for you my dude.

And learn how to wrench on it, cause you'll have to unless you want to spend 800 bucks for a sensor replacement.

Fuuuuuuuuck german cars. They have overengineered bullshit solutions that are made to last exactly 200k km and not one fricking more. For some moronic reason they are putting plastic in the engine bay, and due to heat cycles and just plastic being blastic everything becomes brittle and breaks

If youre into cars youd know germans cant engineer for shit.
The clk gtr was heavier slower and shotter than the car it was designed ro beat: mclaren f1. And thats despite using exotic and lightweight materials.
Even today they make porsches out of aluminium and theyre heavy as frick, which is the worst thing a spottscar can bw. Ontop of that their suspension is trash and the chassis is too weak to not crack under cornering loads.
German cars are only fast because of tons of power and electronics. Hardware is poorly designed overmarketed garbage. But morons think its good cause nazis or something.

    1) OP is troll obviously...

    2) ...I say it as a Polish person.

    3) Turret and cannon of Krab is British design, that was slightly re-designed by Polish engineers because original specs were incorrect (which is kind of tradition in history of polish arms).

    4) Krab vs PzH 2000 is basically Mauser rifle vs first gen semi-automatic rifle 100 years ago. PzH 2000 shoots faster, but each malfunction slashes waves at Ukrainian front for obvious reasons.

    5) They are both huge improvement to what Ukrainians were/Russians are using and great in destroying pic related.

Krab is like the backbone of newer ukrainian mobile artillery, while the PzH2000 is rather for higher profile targets. If anything they are nicely completing each other.

They offer the same level of automation, so not quite so. Even DANA offers better level of automation than PZH, and that's a fact.

      This

Again, this is pure gas lighting. There's virtually no superiority over one another between two, at least on a strategical level, as they used the same exact ammunition.

I wonder why there are so few baits in small arms threads? I remember when one operator from Foreign Legion in Ukraine said once that he switched from 416 to Polish Grot because it's more durable - here! perfect bait thread!

        Anonymous

idk maybe they don't know about small arms
yet i wouldn't say that grot is more durable than 416, quite the contrary given the issues in the first versions
from the mechanical standpoint both work in similar fashion so idk what's the issue, maybe the Grot's bolt size

          Anonymous

Nah dude. I'm not taking that bait. Second version of Grot is obviously better than 416 and thousands of Grots (first batch was 10k, but Poland is still sending these) are currently in Ukraine taking best test possible. If each version of Beryl was indication, third version of Grot will totaly wipe it's ass with whatever next G36 version HK is doing.

It's so obvious, it's not even funny. So no, thank you.

grot is nice but i wouldn't say it's more durable than 416 lol, both are short stroke piston. Grot is much more ergonomic though, love the bolt release in the trigger guard. Will eye A3 when they release it (hopefully bullpup conversion too)
