It's basically no better than a BMP-2, but Ukraine needs all of the shrapnel protected vehicles they can get.
Only problem is the logistics burden of having an ace combat tier motor pool.
not sure
probably better upgrades since it was introduced decades ago
I just want to see it in action before it retires (it was in action against Taliban in Afghanistan but that doesn't really count)
It's insane no German vehicles have any combat experience post ww2, even the exported ones have pretty much 0 combat history. It's abit if a shame, seeing the Marder operate would be nice.
well thanks to monke that's rapidly changing
PzH 2000 already was used in Afghanistan and now in Ukraine
Spain wants to send Leopard 2 and there are talks in Germany about sending some too
Gepard is in Ukraine now
there are talks about Marder too
Yeh, the PzH2k is making a name for itself already that's cool.
The good thing about Ukraine is all the western weapon systems that aren't used getting some action and I guess the benefit of that is we know what works and what doesn't.

very useful now that russia is barely flying over ukraine anymore. thank you scholz!

>their own equipment?
Their own equipment is shitass old soviet BMP-1/2s and a few dozen modernized BTR-3/4s that we haven't seen on video for a couple months now
How is it cope? It's a modern amenity that people would grumble about if they had to forego it for a time, not a life-or-death necessity. Also, what the (I assume) Amerisharts and R*ssians that keep harping on this apparently forgot is that German homes are, in general, fairly well insulated. Even without heating my bedroom for example never drops below something like 12°C even in the coldest of winter, just by virtue of my own body heat. Turn on my rig to play some vidya and it gets cozy even without much clothing on. I have zero worries about even the worst-case scenario of no heating whatsoever. All that means is that I'd have to put on a sweater and some thick wool socks.
The economic consequences are more worrying by like an order of magnitude. Not that I'd personally have to worry as I'm working in a system-relevant industry that's gonna be kept around no matter what but obviously it'd suck for the country at large if we had an economic downturn as a result of too little gas for heavy industry. But even that is not an existential threat. Germany has come back from way worse in just a matter of years, not even decades.

Walk me through your ''''''reasoning'''''' here.
1) Claim: A lack of gas leading to a lack of heating is not an existential threat to Germany.
2) Observation: However, since it still poses a problem, steps such as rationing are being taken to reduce the severity of potential issues.
3) ???
4) Your conclusion: This means that a lack of gas is in fact an existential threat for Germany.
You're not making any sense whatsoever. Just because you take measures to address an issue it doesn't follow that this issue is one of life-or-death. Or are those the only ones that ever get addressed in whatever shithole you crawled out of, anon? Because then at least I'd see where you are coming from.

Seems to me that
Rationing wouldn't even BE a thing if Germany is as uncaring about its oil and gas supply as it acts
is arguing that because Germany is rationing this must mean its oil and gas supply is in such dire straits that it cannot possibly be as (comparatively) minor an issue as Germany's leadership claims.
... which is obviously moronic and completely illogical because sane people address problems even if they are (comparatively) minor. Only an idiot or insane person doesn't plan for the future and takes precautionary measures.

Emphasizing a form of "be" when it is just an auxiliary sounds very weird, but doing it when it serves as a self-sufficient verb is just fine. E.g.: >there wouldn't even BE any rationing
Would be just fine. >rationing wouldn't even BE a thing
Is not fine.
Do you see the difference? If I say "god is" and "god is cool" the word "is" is used in both phrases, but in one it means "god exists" in the other its meaning depends on the adjective it is connected to and doesn't mean anything without it.
Are you a Russian? I know they have no "the" and often use "be" weirdly in all its forms.

It was a real one, no native speaker would emphasize (with a z, this is /k/) the word be there.

Even if it has made you incredibly mad that somebody pointed it out to you (nicely I might add). You've been butthurt ever since. >>inb4 reee you can't capitalise that either
You can, but the fact that you still doubt recognize the difference proves that you haven't understood the lesson.
Funfact: In Mein Kampf Hitler argued that contrary to "a Black person or a chinaman" a slav could be Germanized by teaching them the German language and culture because slavs are human, after noting that even the most Germanist circles had begun to accept that the Austrians could succeed with their attempts to Germanize the slavs in their territory.

Consider how slow and low the missiles fly.
The Gepard would hit anything the Russians have been using to attack cities if positioned right.
But they haven't really sent a lot to be honest so I would be concerned the defensive ability would be limited to only a few KM across for smaller targets.
yeah but only slower stuff like cruise missiles. Not terminal ballistics at mach 4 It has around 4km range and needs a few sec for a fire solution in manual mode.
>35mm > 23mm
But 4 > 2 and 2000 shells > 640 + bigger variety of shells. >also better radar I guess, shilka is really fricking old tech
Shilkas were modernized until the late 70s, when the Gepard was already in service
They'll both serve for fire support anyway
biggest difference between shilka and gepard is range, 30mm with the subcalibre frangible reaches basically twice as far as 23mm API, which in practice means 4 times the engangement area
and of course higher velocity and better BC means more accurate fire at equivalent ranges, less time for the target to deviate from the predicted trajectory.
There was a reason the Russians also switched to 30mm.
35mm > 23mm
also better radar I guess
shilka is really fricking old tech
Shilka uses it's track radar as a search radar, so it can't search and track at the same time. The Gepard has it's own dedicated search radar, like most modern SPAAGs
If they didn't need it they would've said no like they did to the A-10. Instead they agreed to it and to training their people how to operate it. So at least the Ukrainian military sees some worth in them.

If I was playing Wargame: Red Dragon, these would be really nice to have on the battlefield. In fact, it's pretty obvious you never played Wargame: Red Dragon. Maybe you should go back to another board if you're not so knowledgable about weapon systems.

I believe it’ll best be used to stop drone reconnaissance.
It has a radar array, and can connect to other systems. Remember Britain gave Ukraine those A422 radars to detect drones? Imagine that connected to the Gepard system taking out drones en masse.
I really want to see the Leopard 2 used by the Ukies against the Russians, it's literally what it was designed for and would be sad to see it retire without killing some Russian tanks
someone explain to me the differences and advantages between S-Band, Ku-Band, X-Band and Ka-Band radar settings. The Germans use S-Band for Search and Ku for Tracking, while he Dutch Gepard uses X and Ka.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar#Frequency_bands
a vastly oversimplified tl;dr: >the higher the frequency, the more detail you can pick up, but the shorter the range >picking up more detail means resolving a low-observable target (like say a "stealth" aircraft) faster >therefore you have to strike a balance of range and detection time on whatever target you want to shoot at the most
Incidentally the Russians reduced gas supplies by another 20 percent. Now it's only the last 20 percent left.
Apparently this was their game all along, flows were reduced as a response to German weapon shipments, but they kept finding all kind of silly excuses, so nobody picked up on it. Now they had to explicitly hint on it hint hint hint.
I wonder what they'll do from now on, if they cut the final 20% after the next shipment, or if they go 10% 5% and so on to always be able to show that they're retaliating.
every party but the SPD is now starting to Warhawk to send tanks and ifvs. the bald man probably can't say no for much longer, especially not now that they greenlighted the Spanish Leo2s
>Germany needs to ramp support the frick up. I don't care if it's excess ski clothing for a Ukrainian winter offensive.
Have you looked at what Germany actually sent? It's far from nothing, that's why media trying to paint it that way tends to use very specific wording about heavy vehicles.
The issue is not German domestic heating. Nobody at the strategic level cares about this.
The issue is German (and Dutch and British and French and especially Polish) military industry. All the factories run on gas, whether directly or indirectly. Further, a lack of gas means more civilian industrial reliance on diesel fuel, which eventually requires use of the strategic oil reserve for military use, which means Germany has a time limit (in their case, supposedly 90 days) on how long its own military can remain operational.
The Germans are not going to freeze to death this winter, there is no concern of this at any level. The threat is essentially to their military operational capacity and their ability to continue manufacturing of military assets, which becomes more and more necessary as they continue supplying Ukraine.
oil is not the issue Germany reduced its dependence to 12% month ago already. It's expensive but mostly irrelevant.
gas is more of an issue, but they will just deal with it the German way. Burden the future generation so the boomers in the 70's villas can have 24°c in the wintergarten and not have to cut down on other luxuries

Why does german industry need gas? To mold metal into shape? Last I heard, Sweden invented an electric method for that. The only problem left would be power generation.
1) Household heating.
2) Chemical industry, the gas itself is raw material in many processes from plastic to fertilizer, paint to medicine.
3) To generate electricity when wind and solar don't yield enough, this is for households and energy intensive industry like metal melting (steel, aluminium). This can be replaced with coal and oil. However, only gas can be turned on and off quickly, other methods waste more and therefore cost more.
Priority has been always be at 1.
2 might have to be tuned down, just in case there is a problem with getting the first LNG port online (december or january?) and the reserves must be stretched to march or so.
3 will be replaced with other, more costly and co2 intensive sources. Also there is frantic activity to further develop wind, solar and methods to capture and release energy like hydrogen pilot projects, but those will first yield results in years.
Anyway, Russian gas and oil is done for Europe. Russia has fricked up itself for good.

Why does german industry need gas? To mold metal into shape? Last I heard, Sweden invented an electric method for that. The only problem left would be power generation.
They'll never completely cut the gas (unless open war breaks out between ru and de, but that is astronomically unlikely). Choking it down (supply reduction at constant demand) means higher prices, which means there's a balance point at which they make the optimal amount of money while simultaneously crippling German military industry. A professional international economist could tell you exactly where that point might be, but I can't.
Well, that's not strictly true. The USD is weakening, which we see right now as a weakening of the currencies pegged to the dollar such as the Euro. Meanwhile, the sanctions, particularly the severance of Russian access to SWIFT, has effectively depegged the ruble from the dollar, so if you assume the dollar will continue to slip further, Russia stands to benefit from any trade treaty they sign now that obligates payment in rubles in perpetuity. This is why they made such a big deal of wanting Eurostates to pay in rubles: it's a simultaneous hedge against a potential collapse of the dollar, and a chance at considerable profit if they assume that trade with the West is not going to return to previous levels.
I doubt that this 90 day timer will come into play. Germany will be supplied by other countries like Norway, the UK, the USA or some Arabian country.
I doubt so too, but it's essentially a negotiating tactic. It's not an existential threat to Germany directly, but it does force a shift in finite resources (shipping capacity, port facilities, industrial consumption and production) that they are not immediately prepared for, which buys the Russians some initiative in negotiation.
The really interesting thing is that the Gulf countries seem to be unable (or perhaps just stubbornly unwilling, it's really hard to say without what I'm sure is highly classified economic intelligence, especially with the Saudis) to increase oil production, which seems to indicate the Chinese and Russians have beat the West to the punch in negotiations with the Arabs. This bodes well for the yuan and ruble, and poorly for the so-called petrodollar.

>Africa has nothing to offer besides raw materials which is the one thing that Russia has in abundance.
Russia has oil, uranium, arms, and food in vast quantities. More importantly, it has a willingness to sell them to pretty much anybody. In terms of domestic resources they are much better-positioned to trade with China than any African state.
What Russia needs, but cannot create itself, is high technology. Agricultural equipment, factory systems, and electronics are three areas in which they are very weak and are forced to import from the Europeans, but are also three areas in which the Chinese have started to aggressively compete with the Europeans. This is a very dangerous thing for Euro economies, which have benefited for the last century or so from (and become reliant upon) the US paying for research and development of this tech.

Russia's willingness to trade doesn't mean as much as its logistical or political capacity to trade. That is to say, there's a limit to what their China facing pipelines can deliver in terms of hydrocarbons, and they're pretty much at it, and they face significant constraints in moving other commodities. Vladivostok just isn't as well connected as they'd like, and their land borders with China are currently being shunned in favor of the Khazakh routes due to sanctions (i.e. Urumqi to Almaty). China could belt 'n road Russian infrastructure into efficacy, and they've already start funding such infrastructure in their Northern satellite states, but Russia's aims here aren't to lose further influence along their southern border.
On Chinese agricultural equipment; they're still second to European and American companies in terms of quality and features, and with Western companies currently exiting China, especially in an R&D capacity, they're going to have to work harder to continue to bridge that gap. Shout out to their pig farming though, they've got that shit down.

Also a limit on how much chinks are willing to buy. Temporarily they are willing to buy max capacity to fill their reserves, but they are not willing to become dependent on russian resources like europeans were.

this also they buy a lot because it is cheap as frick. russia eats a lot of these costs. Even prewar russia apparently sold at a 5$ discount. Now it's 25-35 depending on the partner.
you can redirect 180gcf if you have 2 LNG ports and a pipeline with 1/10 of the capacity needed.
sure you can build more but 1 you need the tech. (you buy chink they want "free"gas for it) you need the money to build now. the profits come after 10 years. Ofc you can just print money for that but thats just committing economical sodoku
Actually, I think they are. The whole thing with BRICS being classified as "emerging economies" isn't a slur against their GDP, it's an acknowledgment that those five countries are going to be ever more hungry for trade, especially with each other.
Let me be clear: do I expect some big vatnik wet dream of the US collapsing into a civil war and the Euros resorting to cannibalism as they freeze to death? Certainly not. But I do think the BRICS states are economically much, much more important than most people think. China and India will vacuum up all the cheap gas the Russians will sell them, and in return provide the sophisticated agricultural and manufacturing technology that Russia previously bought from the EU. Brazil and South Africa are filled to the brim with minable metals.
On top of all this, the Chinese are aggressively (really it cannot be understated how fast they are doing this) expanding into Africa to acquire natural resources.
If the dollar continues to inflate, the effects on these five economies will be immense. So we can argue whether or not they can make up for Russia's loss of the West as trading partner now, it's already debatable, but what about in ten, even five, years? This, I think, is the core of Russia's strategy.

Turkey plays a game all its own, they are fiercely independent of the conventional West/East paradigm. This is probably a wise choice.
That is the worst way to do this though.
You want sanctions to be swift and decisive. Slowly reducing the gas while allowing Germany to find other suppliers was a major mistake. The effects of a complete shutoff are now merely minor, as 80% are already gone.
Let me quote some random anon real quick: >There's obviously a balancing act between their own interests and support for Ukraine. They've sent quite a lot already, why does nobody ever acknowledge that and pretend they could just send heaps of soviet equipment and get new shit for it like much of the east? Supporting Ukraine is purely based on morality and peer pressure with no past connections to the country justifying it, taking care of their own citizens is a politicians duty. Nearly all countries supporting Ukraine benefit from it, Germany doesn't. You could argue it might in the long term, but it definitely doesn't right now and won't for quite a while. >Italy sends basically nothing and they just killed their own government 2 days ago with the parties that are pro-Putin or at least so uninterested in the conflict that they want to send nothing at all bound to take over because the citizens are on their side, simply because italy does not benefit from fricking with Russia. The reason the media focuses on Germany is because Germany can be influenced with plenty of moralgays in the population who demand more be sent to Russia because Ukraine are the good guys, try that with italy and they'll tell you to go frick yourself after they finish laughing. >I always see the same people who demand help from Germany saying they deserve to freeze and die in the winter as if the average voter had any influence on Russian gas imports, but regardless what your opinion on moronic economic policy in the past is, that's the hand they're dealt.
>So tldnr: Objectively Germany has no reason to support Ukraine, yet they do and if we're honest about it more than can be reasonably expected from them. If you believe they sent very little or nothing you fell for propaganda and butthurt tourist spam.
>That is the worst way to do this though.
Only if you assume that Germany benefits from conflict with Russia. The Germans don't and know they don't (but can't just outright admit it, being the "regional power" and basically NATO spokesman in the EU), the Russians know they know, so the Russians are using to opportunity to make some rubles off of Germany being caught between US/NATO's desire for expansion of the war and their own domestic economic interests.
Continue business as usual. with other suppliers in the EU and the germs in particular a buying at a premium which means .... all non garbage countries in the EU have reached the highest storage % in decades
All I see is scrap yard fodder. Those Ruskies are gonna have mega high grade armor plate to re-melt into the next gen of weapons. Hopefully it will be autonomous WarBots.
Can't shoot down modern aircraft.
Can't shoot down cruise missiles.
Can't hit things that fly higher than 2km or are not in the little 2km sphere around it.
Can't hit anything that doesn't fly in a straight predictable line.
Decommissioned 2 decades ago because it's useless.
Literally none of that is true.
Your post is moronic even by vatnig standards.
NATO is spending that money on its own defence practically.
Russia wasting its people and gear in Ukraine means that they do not have those to threaten NATO countries.
It doesn't have capacity to carry troops.
Russians used the Tunguska in Grosny for fire support because the barrels on BMP and tanks didn't rise high enough. The BMP-T was developed as a consequence.
>If they didn't need it they would've said no like they did to the A-10. Instead they agreed to it and to training their people how to operate it. So at least the Ukrainian military sees some worth in them.
BS, these things are only for propaganda, nothing more.
It's not even something useful like the Himars or the Caesars. The M777s were a complete waste of time. Ukraine had guns that could do the M777s job ez.
This is yet another propaganda hype, that has 0 effect on the battlefield.
A self propelled anti aircraft gun when the russians don't even fly inside Ukranian airspace, cz they are more scared of their own, soviet era SAMs.
I'm starting to think that some military experts are right when they say, NATO armies would bleed to death in a ground war against Russia.
Modern militaries should be in a panic for a cheap drone counter. Something like this could work when paired with a laser detection system like for starstreak. Paint the sky with a laser and if you get a return then light it up. It'll fix the pigeon problem.
Didn't Brazilians specifically get gepards because they were so effective against drones in their trials? I think I remember them commenting about the distance between the guns being longer than most drones, though that doesn't seem to hurt its effectiveness.
ukies should have bought korkut from turkey
Turkey should be kicked from NATO and invaded by every single European nation.
>Turkey should be kicked from NATO and invaded by every single European nation.
Keep your weird fantasies to yourself. It makes you look pathetic and desperate.
TACE BLATTA
Godspeed, now make those ten seconds of ammo count.
I hope Marder comes next
serious question, what can the Marder do that they can't do with their own equipment? does it just look cool?
I live near a Rheinmetall depot and their entire outdoor parking space was filled with M109s
why would Rheinmetall have M109s?
The Bundeswehr replaced the M109 with the pzh2000
and lighter stuff like Fuchs, Dingo, Fennek etc. saw limited action too, but only against insurgents in Afghanistan
German aesthetic in Afghanistan was top tier.
the fenek and wüsten tarn are pretty kino
They trained the troops for direct ground combat, too. And that what Ukraine wanted them for too. Sure they Trained for AD too but they can only protect a limited are from limited threats
So lets hope we do infact see the dollar store D-day on odessea and gerpard pillboxes
well shit that G36 looks cool as frick
I love the combination of black and tan on that G36s even if I thought I hate all tan guns.
>German aesthetic in Afghanistan was top tier.
Still have it in Ukraine. Bunch of Frickin hohol NAZIs.
Unironically have a nice day
>They took the Luchs and gave them the Fennek
Pretty shitty deal if you ask me
the Luchs is much larger than the Fennek
probably better to be small for recon
tho I agree the Luchs was very soulful
The advantage of the Fennek is battlefield radar
The Luchs method of recon belonged to post-WW2 times ie Mark One eyeball with a radio conducting recon by dying. The cannon and bulletproofing is just so it doesn't get randomly smoked by a squad of soldiers on foot
Those vehicles are so beautiful.
Fennek a qt
>their own equipment?
Their own equipment is shitass old soviet BMP-1/2s and a few dozen modernized BTR-3/4s that we haven't seen on video for a couple months now
very useful now that russia is barely flying over ukraine anymore. thank you scholz!
it has 35mm guns, it can also be used against ground targets
it can basically destroy everything lighter than MBTs
35mm would kill any tank from the side
Idiot
It would
Idiot
T72s with that juicy weak side armor around carousel? sure
>30mm auto anons from Ukie BTRs BTFO of vatnik T-72s in Mariupol easily.
my dying wish is to see good footage of the Gepard shooting a ground target in real combat
wtf, these tracers are humongous
>those tracers
wtf where did they get x wings?
it's a comically touched up version of the real webm
>You don't need warm water
that's cope and you know it
I have lived perfectly fine without warm water for years.
>Turn on my rig to play some vidya and it gets cozy even without much clothing on.
Kek I used to heat my student flat purely with my computer as well. Comfy times.
Rationing wouldn't even BE a thing if Germany is as uncaring about its oil and gas supply as it acts
Don't do the comic thing where you try to emphasize a single word via capslock or bold letters if your English isn't ready for it yet, friend.
Makes it really weird to read when you emphasize the wrong word.
Are you sure you replied to the right guy? Because I have no idea wtf he even meant to say with that post so I'm not sure if he said what you think he did.
Seems to me that
is arguing that because Germany is rationing this must mean its oil and gas supply is in such dire straits that it cannot possibly be as (comparatively) minor an issue as Germany's leadership claims.
... which is obviously moronic and completely illogical because sane people address problems even if they are (comparatively) minor. Only an idiot or insane person doesn't plan for the future and takes precautionary measures.
Gonna agree to disagree here
>Don't
>your English isn't ready for it
>you emphasize the wrong word
Look to your own English, mein freund
With which part? My reading of that post?
I don't think he even knows anymore what he wanted to say when he originally wrote it.
Did you just quote 3 random parts of the post or are you unaware of the meaning of contractions using an apostrophe and the difference between British and American English in regards to the usage of S and Z?
You seem moronic and with that I don't mean that you made yourself look dumb, I mean you seem genuinely mentally moronic.
>Did you just quote 3 random parts of the post
this
>bla bla
is that how you try to "win" your Mongolian basket-weaving forum arguments, claim grammatical errors where there are none, and then play the good old "genuinely" card? none of that is going to fly with me, boyo
Lmao what I supposed to win here? This isn't an argument, I gave you advice to avoid embarrassing yourself in the future. Instead of ignoring it, acknowledging it or thanking me for it you got pissy because you're a sensitive little b***h, tried to be a dick and failed because your English isn't even good enough to effectively insult strangers online.
Unfrick yourself, find some friends, learn to interact with others without feeling attacked and grow a thicker skin.
>makes up non-existent English mistakes
Wow, this really is a thing for you huh? That's a new low in basement-dweller behaviour I've never seen.
>doesn't know which words to emphasize
>doesn't know the difference in use between acting and pretending
>doesn't have friends
>cannot handle the banter
Man, these slav tourists on /k/ lately have made really clear why the bongs hated their eastern immigrants so much they left the EU.
>I've never heard anyone emphasise that word, I shall capitalise on that
>it was just bantz bro
>something something tourists something
You still on about that? Alright, I'll throw you one last bone, you poor thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIbkReLYxOA
Now run back to Mother's basement in shame, there's a dear
>>I've never heard anyone emphasise that word, I shall capitalise on that
You can absolutely emphasize be, just not like that. See here
For example: You ARE a slavBlack person. See? It works as an affirmation here despite being an auxiliary. That's kind of an exception though.
>>it was just bantz bro
I just gave you a nice advice at first, actually. You sperged out so I had some fun with it.
something tourists something
You are a tourist and do not own any guns. Levity aside, let us not pretend you belong here.
>You still on about that? Alright, I'll throw you one last bone, you poor thing
It's adorable how you like to pretend you haven't embarrassed yourself.
Learn English, it's not hard.
And stop trying to ape sitcom characters and british mannerisms in a random mix you don't even understand yourself. It just makes you seem even more moronic.
Know your limits, slavboy.
>heaps on the bullshit
>and 1 minute after
Truly fascinating. One wonders how far this level of pretence carries on into self-delusion.
>basic grammar is bullshit
Anon, the 1 minute thing people have mentioned before is because there is a one minute cool down between posts of the same ID, so if it's exactly one minute (+-1 second) that's a telling sign of what you so eloquently dubbed sameposting.
How new are you? And do eastern european schools not teach grammar?
>that's a telling sign of what you so eloquently dubbed sameposting
Precisely
>basic grammar
You mistook me capitalising a word to indicate a voice inflection for a grammar mistake, and can't let it go all this while later? Get help.
>do you think you've moved the conversation far enough away from your previous embarrassment now that you can go to bed without agonizing about the opinions of anonymous strangers online about your low IQ?
I don't know, have you?
>low IQ
>slavboy
>nogunz
>"just bantz"
>concernposting
>all this because you sperged over a made-up grammar mistake and now you have to cover yourself
Actually I take that back. DON'T get help; you're too fa gone and it would just be a waste of time. Go take a long walk off a short pier.
>inb4 reee you can't capitalise that either
Good day.
>You mistook me capitalising a word to indicate a voice inflection for a grammar mistake,
It is because it doesn't carry the meaning you think it does in that particular sentence as has been explained to you.
Sorry bro, you're a midwit.
>over a made-up grammar mistake
It was a real one, no native speaker would emphasize (with a z, this is /k/) the word be there.
I know you don't understand that and probably still don't understand why despite the explanations, but that's the way it is.
You seem to be proof that big H was wrong.
Good night 🙂
PS: Both of those posts are by me and that's not even supposed to be a secret, this isn't reddit where people care if you double post to reply to 2 different posts, especially if one came in as you responded to the other.
You said you'd give me one last reply before, it's been a few posts since then, do you think you've moved the conversation far enough away from your previous embarrassment now that you can go to bed without agonizing about the opinions of anonymous strangers online about your low IQ?
To get in on the bullying and help you not frick up the same way in the future:
Emphasizing a form of "be" when it is just an auxiliary sounds very weird, but doing it when it serves as a self-sufficient verb is just fine. E.g.:
>there wouldn't even BE any rationing
Would be just fine.
>rationing wouldn't even BE a thing
Is not fine.
Do you see the difference? If I say "god is" and "god is cool" the word "is" is used in both phrases, but in one it means "god exists" in the other its meaning depends on the adjective it is connected to and doesn't mean anything without it.
Are you a Russian? I know they have no "the" and often use "be" weirdly in all its forms.
>and now the sameposting
>tourist doesn't even know what samegayging is
Lurk for a year, you'll embarrass yourself a lot less.
Top zozzle
is there more footage like this somewhere?
Some stats:
Training on Sardinia in the early 80ies:
>wt irl
>closest to tank on tank direct combat ive seen this whole time
frick i can only get so hard
it also has paper thin armor
can't it defend against missiles?
unlikely, it has no proxy rounds so you would need a direct impact
thanks for clarification, I already feel smarter
Consider how slow and low the missiles fly.
The Gepard would hit anything the Russians have been using to attack cities if positioned right.
But they haven't really sent a lot to be honest so I would be concerned the defensive ability would be limited to only a few KM across for smaller targets.
Yes
Cruise missiles, possibly, it's unlikely to do much against ballistic missiles, AGM and rocket artillery.
Far greater effect on target when hit, both AP and HEI.
yeah but only slower stuff like cruise missiles. Not terminal ballistics at mach 4 It has around 4km range and needs a few sec for a fire solution in manual mode.
What Russian missiles are hitting at mach 4 besides the hypersonics meme lmao?
Virtually none.
SRBMs like Tochka and Iskander. They can be intercepted, just not by a Gepard.
Once Ukraine starts a large scale counter attack those will be crucial.
There are still shit loads of helis operating over the front lines.
Who said anything about shooting at planes?
missiles and drones
What does this do that a ZSU-23 can't?
35mm > 23mm
also better radar I guess
shilka is really fricking old tech
There was a reason the Russians also switched to 30mm.
western quality
Shilka uses it's track radar as a search radar, so it can't search and track at the same time. The Gepard has it's own dedicated search radar, like most modern SPAAGs
Can it really take down fighter jets or bombers?
Ukraine doesn't need close range airplane busters, they have plenty of AA weaponry to do that anyway.
If they didn't need it they would've said no like they did to the A-10. Instead they agreed to it and to training their people how to operate it. So at least the Ukrainian military sees some worth in them.
>If they didn't need it they would've said no like they did to the A-10. Instead they agreed to it and to training their people how to operate it. So at least the Ukrainian military sees some worth in them.
BS, these things are only for propaganda, nothing more.

I'm starting to think that some military experts are right when they say, NATO armies would bleed to death in a ground war against Russia.
If I was playing Wargame: Red Dragon, these would be really nice to have on the battlefield. And because Wargame: Red Dragon is very realistic (basically it's real life), what you are saying is bullshit and Ukraine can make a lot of use of these units. In fact, it's pretty obvious you never played Wargame: Red Dragon. Maybe you should go back to another board if you're not so knowledgable about weapon systems.
Replying to your own post with a shitty false flag makes you look desperate, not smart.
Shut up Black person
>Himars or the Caesars
Well good news for you then since today the promised MARS II launchers and another batch of PzH 2000 arrived in Ukraine.
Erection intensifies.
I believe it’ll best be used to stop drone reconnaissance.
It has a radar array, and can connect to other systems. Remember Britain gave Ukraine those A422 radars to detect drones? Imagine that connected to the Gepard system taking out drones en masse.
Can it take down DJI drones?
They use it during the Qatar WC to deflect threats from those, so I guess.
I really want to see the Leopard 2 used by the Ukies against the Russians, it's literally what it was designed for and would be sad to see it retire without killing some Russian tanks
They're not going to use these against anything other than cruise missiles. They will be positioned to guard high-value targets.
All the cod autists having wet dreams about them mashing up infantry and tanks are qute amusing to read though.
>cruise missiles
And helicopters
Germany & NATO will be very sorry if they keep supplying Ukraine with their top of the line armaments
These armaments were literally designed with only one purpose in mind: cleansing the world of vatBlack folk
Doesn't matter whoever wields them
>Russia and VatBlack folk will be very sorry if NATO keep supplying Ukraine with their top of the line armaments
FTFY
>top of the line
what if this war is just a scam to trick NATO into giving weapons to Ukraine and once they have enough they ally with Russia and destroy Europe?
I think it would have been cheaper to just buy the equipment.
Even if they were capable of thinking something like that, they would forget to tell Ukraine about the plan.
Wiesel when?
someone explain to me the differences and advantages between S-Band, Ku-Band, X-Band and Ka-Band radar settings. The Germans use S-Band for Search and Ku for Tracking, while he Dutch Gepard uses X and Ka.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar#Frequency_bands
a vastly oversimplified tl;dr:
>the higher the frequency, the more detail you can pick up, but the shorter the range
>picking up more detail means resolving a low-observable target (like say a "stealth" aircraft) faster
>therefore you have to strike a balance of range and detection time on whatever target you want to shoot at the most
Incidentally the Russians reduced gas supplies by another 20 percent.
Germany still has time to prepare. Winter is far away, and for all we know, we'll have a pretty warm winter.
Germany needs to ramp support the frick up. I don't care if it's excess ski clothing for a Ukrainian winter offensive.
every party but the SPD is now starting to Warhawk to send tanks and ifvs. the bald man probably can't say no for much longer, especially not now that they greenlighted the Spanish Leo2s
it's not only about heating. German industry depends heavily on cheap Russian gas.
I doubt that this 90 day timer will come into play. Germany will be supplied by other countries like Norway, the UK, the USA or some Arabian country.
oil is not the issue Germany reduced its dependence to 12% month ago already. It's expensive but mostly irrelevant.
gas is more of an issue, but they will just deal with it the German way. Burden the future generation so the boomers in the 70's villas can have 24°c in the wintergarten and not have to cut down on other luxuries
>there is no concern of this at any level
>rations your water heater
You don't need warm water in summer. It's pure luxury.
Picrel is Gepard doing some pew-pew
>rations your water heater
This comrade knows, Germans are freezing dying right now. They are done for good, on their knees, begging Russia for gas as we speak!!!
>It will be fun to watch them get blown up like the last 'gamechanger'
This comrade knows, all PzH2000 and COBRA have been destroyed by Russia. Just like HIMARS and CAESAR. Ukraine is begging for survival and is cauldroned daily as we speak!!!
>This is yet another propaganda hype, that has 0 effect on the battlefield.
>I'm starting to think that some military experts are right when they say, NATO armies would bleed to death in a ground war against Russia.
This comrade knows, NATO is failing and getting picked apart as we speak!!!
This comrade knows, Germany and NATO will be sorry. They are basically sorry as we speak!!!
Imagine the Luchs zipping with 80km/h across the Ukie steppe! >:^)
A professional international economist could tell you exactly where that point might be, but I can't.
what good does money even do to Russia? They can't spend it anywhere.
don't you remember what putin said? RUSSIA IS SO LARGE YOU CAN'T ISOLATE IT
Well, that's not strictly true.
This bodes well for the yuan and ruble, and poorly for the so-called petrodollar.
but with whom should they trade? China and India are not enough to compensate for the trade with Western countries
Turkey hasn't signed the sanctions. Iran is open for business.
Africa is what they attempt as well.
Turkey AND Syria have started to distance themselves from Russia. Hell Erdogan let Putin wait for like a minutes in front of cameras in their latest meeting
>Turkey AND Syria have started to distance themselves from Russia.
Is that why Erdogan will meet Putin in Sochi this week?
>Hell Erdogan let Putin wait for like a minutes in front of cameras in their latest meeting
Not the first time they do this to eachother, you gotta be a moron for falling for that shit.
Erdogan did far worse to Putin in the past decade, they're still much closer than you believe.
>Syria
>distance themselves from Russia
Lol.
that's still not enough to satisfy their needs. Africa has nothing to offer besides raw materials which is the one thing that Russia has in abundance. Turkey and Syria are nothing compared to the EU and USA. Also they can dictate the conditions if they know that Russia needs them.
This is a very dangerous thing for Euro economies, which have benefited for the last century or so from (and become reliant upon) the US paying for research and development of this tech.
best analysis so far I think
Sorry meant to include this image. Note that much of Russia's hydrocarbon production capacity has no pipeline route to China just now.
>there's a limit to what their China facing pipelines can deliver in terms of hydrocarbons
If Putin would have gone all the way immediately Scholz would have no reason to delay anymore and could have just gone all-in for voter approval.
Let me quote some random anon real quick:
>There's obviously a balancing act between their own interests and support for Ukraine.
Insightful. I'll try to remember to steal that post when my computer's turned on tomorrow. Could benefit from some line breaks though.
There is no Ruble to make though. Russia's economy has already crashed and is on the way to become another Venezuela.
Continue business as usual. with other suppliers in the EU and the germs in particular a buying at a premium which means .... all non garbage countries in the EU have reached the highest storage % in decades
Ukraine will use it against infantry, I am certain of this.
What is it good for?
>Can't shoot down modern aircraft.
>Can't shoot down cruise missiles.
>Can't hit things that fly higher than 2km or are not in the little 2km sphere around it.
>Can't hit anything that doesn't fly in a straight predictable line.
>Decommissioned 2 decades ago because it's useless.
Literally none of that is true.
Your post is moronic even by vatnig standards.
>russia
>modern aircraft
ok anon
>nato spending billions in military equipment and aide even though ukraine already lost
Nobody, not even poland, cares about ukraine.
NATO is spending that money on its own defence practically.
Russia wasting its people and gear in Ukraine means that they do not have those to threaten NATO countries.
Can you use SPAAG like IFV?
It doesn't have capacity to carry troops.
Russians used the Tunguska in Grosny for fire support because the barrels on BMP and tanks didn't rise high enough. The BMP-T was developed as a consequence.
>Gepard is now officially in service in Ukraine.
Wow, no missiles, armed with only 2 autocannons that's range is what? 3000 meters tops?
It will be fun to watch them get blown up like the last 'gamechanger'
Still no destroyed HIMARS. Cope.
>reddit spacing and delusions
You have to go back
I want to see some Gepard action so badly. Do you think these are going to be used for taking down drones close to the frontlines?
i want to see it shoot down a ka52
Based on the German MoD there was a delay because the Gepard got a requested upgrade.
Experts speculate that the Ukraine Gepards got the Qatar upgrade which give them some excellent anti-drone capabilities.
>the Qatar upgrade
enumerate please?
one upgrade was nightvision for ground target combat apparently
If the Ukies record themselves shredding vatniks with these things my erection might just burst
such grisly scene would be a waste
I think best for helicopters
Modern militaries should be in a panic for a cheap drone counter. Something like this could work when paired with a laser detection system like for starstreak. Paint the sky with a laser and if you get a return then light it up. It'll fix the pigeon problem.
Didn't Brazilians specifically get gepards because they were so effective against drones in their trials? I think I remember them commenting about the distance between the guns being longer than most drones, though that doesn't seem to hurt its effectiveness.
