Opinions about Chinese body armor?
Pic rel. is a SK4 plate allegedly sold on Amazon for around 250 Euros. From the Vieos Ive seen the hold up quite good even against Mosin rounds. So I was thinking about getting 2 plates because even those plates are going to protect me better than the best plate I cant afford. Same with some high-cut FAST Helmets they go around 500 and have a Chinese/European certificate.
I guess its better than nothing and good enough for larping. I can always upgrade later when I have the money.
Chinese body armor is shit but not nearly as shitty as the child murdering organized criminals who make up the enlisted ranks of the 75th ranger regiment.
Never thought I would want to spit on an American soldier but being spat on is too good for them.
???
Safariland level 4 plates sell for 250€ per plate in Europe, dude.
That being said, dont. Unless you plan on competing in some brutality matches where gear like this is required to enter you are just throwing money away. Guns, ammo and training come way before plates.
Where can I find them or other certified plates?
>It can stop Mosin rounds
Meaningless, 7.62x54r isn’t a high standard unless it’s B-32, in which case it’s slightly above M2AP (level 4). There’s hotter rounds of course, but I doubt those are on Amazon.
You want to check for cheat plates; which are foam rings that reduce the effectiveness on the outer layer.
Look for NIJ or some other certification of the armor.
Uarmprotection sells some pretty good body armor around your price range; I’d encourage you to check them out once the war is over (I don’t like Ukraine).
Pertaining to helmets, oddly enough Militech produces some good helmet options. I haven’t researched it but according to Oxide they preform pretty well in the tests he’s seen. They offer a helmet with up armor that can stop rifle rounds, which is pretty cool. However; I’d recommend you poor gayging it and just dealing with a full cut PASGT style helmet for like $80-$100 bucks if you need it now.
>Upgrade later with more money
Bad mentality; the rule is “buy once cry once”. Buy good the first time unless you think war is coming.
In the mean time; a gym membership is more valuable then Gucci gear (you need to lug your gear). Get good at lifting and rucking
Whats the consensus on polymer mag pouches like the HSGI polymer pouches? They seem pretty nice for reindexing, multi caliber, etc. but I'm afraid it'll break easily.
Posting in a proper gear thread
R8 my loadout /k/
Pheasant poacher/10
>not peasant poacher
Whatever, pheasant poacher
what kind of knife is that
What is /k/'s thoughts on fox tactical as a brand? I got their advanced mountaineering pack a long ass time ago and I've only had minor issues w it.
its shit bro get anything else instead
creepy as frick, shit looks almost like it's covered in eyes.
not sure if this is the spot to ask. can anyone help me id wtf I have here?
>made in italy
that's an italian smg anon
I found an opscore fast higu cut for 800 euros size M/L
Is it a good price?
why do french and italian luxury goods makers only cater for pooskins
What's the best way to run this setup? Beez ELPC, pouches, and hydration pack, E.I. H-Harness, Safariland Holster, and IFAK. Probably getting some binoculars soon. Best things to add? Best placement? Just throw away the H-Harness and get a modern setup like a reasonable person?
I would make sure you get some lightweight and stowable binos some can be pretty bulky and cumbersome for what they are.
Are you wearing a harness over a plate carrier? big oof if so
Tell me more.
wearing harness over plate carrier bad
Are there better options to pair with the ELPC or is something like a Slickster just far and ahead the best option these days?
Any sewing anons here? I would like to here your tips on how to get started and how you got into it. I'm thinking about taking off the gp and radio pouches on my condor rig.
General bump question, what part of your rig would you consider underrated?
That the tap is slim with its 1 row integrated mag pouches
Buy beat up surplus pouch and carefully take them apart. Take note on the trends you see. Eventually you will notice the methods used. Additionally watch YouTube gear making videos. They don't need to be tutorials. Watch the operators and take notes of their movements and tools
I grew tired of mindlessly consuming gear. A lost friend got me into it indirectly at the peak of my boredom
What is the best looking way to carry G3 mags?
Ideally it'd also be somewhat comfy and practical but I've already gone with a 10lbs rifle without any accessory rails so its pretty safe to say I'm leaning more towards aesthetics than practicality. Currently have picrel for the gun.
old molle woodland double mag pouches for m16 will hold a single g3 mag
Good to know, I have a few of those lying around. Just tried and they also fit into the similarly made coyote Eagle surp double m16 mag pouches too, albeit with a little more force.
What are the most comfortable, highest quality Plate Carriers for sale in Canada?
dont bother
Why
canada gay
Eastern Canada is gay for sure, Western Canada is better then America
Very bold claim
western canada is china
It's like, what are you trying to do? seems like you want to combine a low profile PC thats not meant to be worn with ammo, and is meant to be concealed, and then completely undo that by wearing a harness. Probably better to just yeet both the elpc and the harness and get a plate carrier that you can put mag pouches on
British Columbia does not fall under Western Canada, you're right, it's a Chinese colony
Oh you think alberta and saskatchewan are immune to the chink creep? Conservatives aren't immune to chink money. Soon, you will all be chineses
Surprised you actually know our provinces tbh
Shockingly, I can read maps. I know most of /gq/ shuns land nav, but I am an outlier
The basic idea was to have something I could wear concealable or at least with a low profile on its own, and then have the harness for situations which require extra utility. Now I'm wondering if it might be better to get a good battle belt and have all the pouches there, or, as you said save the ECPC for those "concealed PC and CC" situations, and get a more standard PC for a full load out.
I'm gonna blow your mind with the concept of swift clips: get a plate carrier, and then get a chest rig that can clip onto the carrier
harness over plate carrier is aids, long ago I had to do that with the old LBVs and old IBAs in the army and it sucked wiener
It really depends on the person. The average Canadian is pretty gay but the non gay ones usually become based as a result.
even the ones that dont seem gay are still gay
Ferro Concepts is gtg, I personally replaced my Slickster with an Lv119 Overt that is a bit more comfy imo, not entirely sure if canucks can get spiritus stuff though.
What should I get a 223 or 556 bolt action? I can't decide.
