That homie has been on my mind. No cap, I been thinking about that time when I barebacked him raw in a Luton Premier Inn. That shit had to be the tightest, blackest, wettest boy pussy I've ever laid pipe into. I swear to God, the most heavenly high is gargling that wonderboy's nuts while going fist deep into his shitter. I had Andrew Tate screaming in the sheets with head too ridiculous to ignore. That homie frotted my wiener until he busted on my mouth, I had to return the favor. That homie Tate and I been fricking non-stop ever since, but keep that shit on the DL. He does that shit for free. If you're gonna ask me how to "long" Andrew Tate, I'll be deadass. All you gotta do is ask, be straight up, and get physical real quick. Touch his nuts, get on ya knees, talk your shit. He doesn't play around with no pansy-ass homies either. He likes his men manly, and his dick thick. Dark skin, 6'5 is the minimum and I ain't talking about height boy.
That homie Tate stole my heart and drank my sneed.
You ever thought about trying a G19 Safariland with that APX? I'm willing to bet the ALS will lock in. I did it for an Arex I own and it works flawlessly with a little modification to eliminate some sideways wiggle it had (since a Glock is wider). Pic related. Torture tested the ALS and its not coming out.
Gotcha. I'm running an rlcs fully loaded like a nixieworks lfr, but for what I use it for, I'm coming around using a ruck for my third line instead of having all my eggs in one basket
Random specific question- is there a tried and true way to get chest seal adhesive off of clothing? Asking for a friend
>camo painted piss bottles
this guy is gonna make it
Just getting into geargayging. Just wondering, with a loaded chest rig, slings, a hydration pack/backpack, etc... is it always going to be slightly uncomfortable and bulky/restricted? Like getting my rifle off my body with a sling without the gear takes a second but with all the added bulk it takes a few. It seems like a dumb question but at this point I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong. FWIW I mainly wear a Gorka suit and an Alice LBV with the appropriate alice or molle pouches. Also, is it worth investing in a knife if I always carry a quality multitool?
It'll always be bulky and annoying, but the best you can do is practice and adapt. Play innawoods for a few hours and maybe you realize "If I move this pouch over here instead, it'll catch my sling less" and so on. Too many people on here buy brand new shit, set it up exactly like a gear picture they find on pinterest, and never touch it again. Don't be afraid to do what works for you. Plate carrier-mounted slings are universally shit on online but I found two point slings to be too annoying over armor so I bought a pc mounted y sling and it works fine for me and how I larp
>is it worth investing in a knife if I always carry a quality multitool?
I'd offer that it makes more sense to get a multitool that *does not* have a knife on it. Most multitools when you look at them have shit you never use, like tiny scissors and eyeglasses screwdrivers. tee bee aych desoo I stopped carrying my leatherman for this reason, and now only carry a folding pocket knife and a separate set of pliers with a wire cutter. Leatherman is fine in the car, but I don't need 4 types of saw blades immediately accessible on my belt to shoot at steel targets and old tv sets innawoods. Protip- buy a segmented/screw apart cleaning rod if you dont have one already. You're way, way more likely to need to tap out a stuck case than you would need your leatherman T10 torx bit innawoods.
Yeah, I should probably get a better sling. I'm eyeing up the Magpul one that lets you switch from a single point to a 2 point.
I've tried almost every sling and the two best slings are either a basic length of non adjustable webbing (for pure retention, not tightening against your body for hi speed lo drag dynamic movements) or the bfg snickers sling
the hailey sling gets an honorable mention, but the snickers sling is cheaper, stronger, and has a better pull tab imo
any cheap rig i can get that will hold about 3 ar mags and 2 pistol mags
do you need to carry anything else on the rig? pic related holds 4 and 4. Gadsen also makes custom chest rigs so if you really wanted you could literally have them sew you a rig with exactly 3 rifle mags and 2 pistol mags if you wanted to be that much slimmer
Tried that and got the bulk off, but it's still pretty gross. I was gonna try goo gone but idk if the oils in that are gonna frick the shirt but now that I say it out loud that's a lesser issue to me than the adhesive
Its alright. I use it without the harness as my range belt. The fact that its not slotted makes it kind of a pain in the dick to mount the holster but it works. It's also pretty flimsy so if you plan on using it as a belt and not an LBE don't expect you're gonna be mounting a ton of shit to it because it'll get hard to run with fast (the only thing stopping it from shifting around is the tightness around your hips). As an LBE it would probably be fine since the harness will keep it in place.

It'll never feel like you don't have gear in anon, but there should be any serious hangups. If there are you need to move things around or something, for example I used to have my sling get stuck on my antenna on my back. Played with things a lot until I'd moved the antenna into the right spot to keep them from getting tangled.

anyone try this.chink Senshi fake? I'm eyeing the 2 inch version because it looks nice and only costs like $40. Probably not gonna last a long time and I suspect the buckle is shit but I only want to put a Safariland and some.kydex 9mm pouches on it for the range.

About $50 more with shipping, and its 1.75 inch not 2. Im used to two inch belts from my duty rig and i'd like to sort of replicate it. That and im autistic about the UBL fitting perfectly. And it means I can tactically acquire all sorts of shit like mag pouches and TQ holders from work (they're all on 2-2.25 inch belt slides).
I actually like the old Safariland kydex gear a lot. I tried stuff like Direct Action and HSGI nylon stuff but it's not for me. Good old clackity-clack plastic is my thing.

Any recommendations for pants belt? Currently on year 6 with Tuff Products EZ Feed. Still stiff but the adjustment strap has been loosening on it’s own.
Looking hard at Aegis. Also, poorgay friendly options preferred.
Did you try the 1.75 inch version? I carry a full sized pistol on it no problem. The buckle is kinda shit but I cant complain for $10 or whatever I got it for. 5.11 belts run very, very small btw. In case anyone intends to buy one always get two sizes up.
Yea I imagine it wouldn't work with an AIWB holster. Pancakes you can kinda get away with since they ride high and tight. Hanks Belts and Kore are probably more up your alley.

Pancakes also spread the weight over more of the belt. The more I think about the one pancake I have, the more I think a softer belt may be better for those.
I need some help for a holster guys.
Is there a concealed carry holster designed to be strapped on the inside of your thigh, inside of your pants so you can draw your handgun through the fly?
I'm gonna have to bring a smol shooty boi somewhere I really shouldn't soon and I can't keep it concealed any other way.
Get a small light handgun and put it on a piece of thin kevlar cord. Loop cord around belt and dangle handgun down pants. Use medical tape and secure the handgun to your thigh so it doesnt bounce. Grasp cord and pull up to draw.
if you aren't using a switch, 10 oclock works well. the whole 'mount it away from your body because people aim at the light thing' is pure overthinking by people who don't have anything too shoot and have too much time to fantasize about combat.
i am on the fence on whether i should i get a bump or ballistic helmet. i honestly don't feel i'll ever really need the ballistic helmet and the bump will work fine for eventuall nvg's while being lighter and cheaper. how did you decide, and if you got a ballistic helmet what made you get one?
please explain why. it's going to be a little while before i can get night vision and i thought it would be good to have the helmet first to get used to it.
https://i.imgur.com/hyQu0qs.jpg
Ballistic helmets are a requirement for some live fire shoothouse courses if you ever want to go to a lot of those. Otherwise a bump is more than fine and a good investment pre nods because having a piece of something bonk your head is ill advised by your doctor.
that is something i never really considered, but it makes sense.
I will go against the grain and tell you getting a helmet before nods is a great idea. Helmet suspension, sizing and comfort is huge and you will want that helmet to be rock solid in terms of adjustment and fit far before nods come into play. In the interim you have a larper hardhat which is good inna urban otherwise innawoods its good incase you slip and eat shit on a rock while scrambling.

You're right: I am far too poor to justify a krink, but even a WASR should should have one.
For an inner belt, is it better to go 1.5 or 2.0? I've noticed that 1.75 isn't always available e.g. LAB. I am honestly not sure I could fit a 2.0 in a lot of belt loops.
1.5 = normal pants
2 = tac pants >AWS lab

I'd say 1.75 is the goat choice, fits fine on tacticool pants but can still be used in most basic pairs of jeans and so on

If you can find any of the Kolchan mag pouches made by Balistyka they've got the same virtues as a Taco but with a kywi-like plastic insert to help give them some additional retention.

Man, back when botach had N49s for $599 it was like how are there people out there without them. Most courses that require them will have a pool of sweated up ACHs floating around you can borrow.
Helmets aren't just there for night vision use. They're there so when you get shot at, you have something to protect your head. Why are you buying all this gear if not for combat uses?
Yeah but they just sort of slide around assuming you arent an LMT owner (bald as shit) or buzz cut creep. Or you have to crank them down to uncomfortable levels.
i should probably buy one or two of those slaap plates from AU while they're still cheap.
They arent that good honestly ive never worn mine outside of testing because they just suck to have on your helmet.

For the life of me I cannot believe people are paying what they are paying for krinks these days.
If you really want to get into gauze autism you should be getting packing gauze which is thinner and has an xray strip. NAR makes a non-hemostatic packing gauze and it costs about the same as their regular compressed gauze.
But realistically any type of gauze will do a good job for simply packing a wound.

Tubes bend if you load into them and tend to snap at the worst times. Shoulder tubes come off if you run a stock across them and the rubber gets too grippy.

Where is the DM jacket supposed to sit in the layering system? It looks like L5, people talk about it like it's L5, but the first-party copy is curiously devoid of terms like soft-shell and water resistance. L3+L4 or some shit?
L5 is a softshell
DM/Atom LT jackets are more akin to L4/L7 in the sense its a windproof insulative layer. Its water resistant in the sense light rain and snow contact wont soak through but im not going to wear one in a torrential downpour/for prolonged snow contact.
For me its a warming layer that goes over gear when static or under gear when really cold and mobile.
Anonymous
Gotcha, makes sense. I guess I was assuming L4/L7 == not water resistant at all.
Context is looking for a better setup for light activity in my usual fall/winter weather, which is 40s and light rain. L3+L6 is overkill in terms of water/wind protection, and L7 is overkill in terms of insulation. My Beyond softshell is close but a bit on the light side, but stacked with a L3 is too warm for activity. Not sure whether I need a heavier L5 or if L4 + L3 fits this role better, relying on that semi water resistance of L4 (and just jumping up to 6 when that's not enough).
Because I'm lazy I like the idea of having a single jacket to grab when going on a walk or other non-super-preplanned activities, but if I'm stuck layering for basic stuff that's not the end of the world.
Anonymous
Similar weather around these parts. Typically a light fleece layer under a solid rain/wind layer does the trick for me. Insulative enough to not shiver but still breathes well enough for sustained activity. If it gets colder I just add an L1 or L2 next-to-skin layer under the fleece, but that can get toasty quick.
Anonymous
Appreciate the input. >Typically a light fleece layer under a solid rain/wind layer does the trick for me.
That's more or less what I'm doing now and yeah, it works well enough, though I feel like I'm carrying a lot of goretex that I don't end up needing 70% of the time, and if I'm hiking I end up cooking myself sooner than I would otherwise.
On one hand it is nice to be prepared for sudden weather changes, but I'd just like to have a better go-to if I know I'm not going to get dumped on, hence the interest in options for light water resistance. Increasingly thinking that I need a super-light/packable L4 jacket.
Anonymous
I've had mixed luck with the few L4s I've had over the years. They help solve your packability and grab'n'go issue, but the water resistance usually stops at an intermediate mist from my experience. Any sort of steady rain and you're soaked to the core in short order. The dirt cheap ORC Industries PCU L4 I picked up held up the best on that front, but I only end up using it in those in-between seasons these days where fleece and L5 are too insulating but a t-shirt and light breeze leaves you a little chilly. I think you'll be hard pressed to find an all-in-one solution that offers serious wind and rain resistance, but I'm also not on top of the latest and greatest. I know Beyond runs sales on their L4 stuff pretty often, have had generally good luck with their stuff to date.

Because CONUS frag threat isnt immense and they wont do anything against rifle rounds.

Mobility heat loading is very specific to the person and environment/load so you cant really get generalized advice on it you need to just enumerate what configurations work for you.
>you need to just enumerate what configurations work for you.
Fair enough. Like suggested I'll probably grab a heavier L5 and a cheap L4 when there's a good chance. This has been helpful, so thanks: trying to get all this shit properly sorted to incentivize myself to be less of a fair-weather outdoorsman.

They are. There's plenty of cheaper alternatives out there, but Arcteryx stuff really does make some good stuff even in their non-LEAF lines. Tbqh I picked up a majority of my Arc stuff besides the rain jacket at like 70% off or something silly, so it was a no brainer. I'd still argue that their stuff is worth consideration at retail though.
hi fellas im looking for some outerwear. I live in the pacific northwest and im looking for a jacket that sheds rain but is also warm. Ideally I'd like something thats good down to about 35-40 degrees F, at temps below that I plan on adding a base layer.
I want a jacket that doesnt interfere with a gun belt (like my gorka does) and can be worn under a plate carrier. Budget is unlimited, I want the best. I looked at first spear and crye so far. ideally some sort of green or brown.
You should layer insulation under rain gear so you can dry insulation and use the rain gear without the insulation.
With that in mind >PCU level 3 for insulation (Or Arcteryx Rho for consistency) >Arcteryx Alpha Leaf for rain gear
hey guys im new to this and i want a plate carrier with a big thing of velcro on the front
i am looking at the jpc 2.0 and the mayflower apc

JPC 2.0 is okay. I got a spiritus elastic cummerbund with mine and it works alright. Elastic cummerbunds are the way to go tbh. Spiritus, TREX arms, ferro concepts
2 questions, Is esstac a reliable site? also are hessco 4401s better than the 4400? They are selling the 4401s for less than the 4400s, but i thought the 4401s are the same but lighter
>Is esstac a reliable site
yes >also are hessco 4401s better than the 4400
They're both level 4 plates, but 4400s are multicurve and 4401s are single curve. If you're seeing different weights make sure you're looking at the same size and not comparing a 10x12 to a SAPI large.
Legitimate question here about this girl's(?) gear setup. (Ukraine people please don't get triggered):
How would you deal with going prone with all of this stuff on your chest? I have an H-harness so my middle section is somewhat open and I can lay prone pretty well. But how do you crawl through shit with a big poofy gear on you like this? I assume she doesn't see combat so it's just all her medical gear over some amor in case it's gets too sketchy but I was just curious what you guys think.
Literally stop caring about what women do. Why the frick was there even a question in your mind like that. Can you not imagine how bad that would suck to go prone with?
Can someone recommend me a small dump pouch that I can get for <$30? I dont feel like shelling out $50+ for a literal sack. I just need it to hold empty pistol mags and brass on the range.
I mean honestly i've been just using a cargo pocket to dump empty mags into and it works fine but my belt is looking kinda bare with just magazines and a holster on it so I guess a dump pouch wouldn't hurt. I like the look of the Maxpedition MM or the ATS Compact pouch but theres no way im spending $50 on it.
A waistline shot is a motherfricker (theres a reason people train modified mozambique), but I doubt a belt like that stops rounds. Its probably meant for shrapnel etc. I'd rather have an extended groin plate on my carrier.
It wont stop a rifle round and it adds weight/bulk. Personally I dont think its worth it. I'm sure theres some application where it makes sense though, else Crye wouldnt be making them.
Because CONUS frag threat isnt immense and they wont do anything against rifle rounds.

Anyone have any good sling recommendations? I was going to go with the slingster from ferro concepts but heard that it will bind up a lot and its a pain in the ass to get out.
I've got the padded version of this. The adjuster is really great. It's metal, all one piece and doesn't leave a long tail of webbing flopping.
https://www.optactical.com/spsysinosl.html
i had a ferro sling and gave it to a friend for that reason. it worked great until i started using it with a jacket and chest rig. this was the first iteration of it, don't know if they've made subsequent versions that are better.
I have one of these 7TS Safarilands (level 1 ALS) holsters. Should I consider upgrading it or are these considered okay? I like the look of the 6360 but not sure if spending $150+ on it is worth it.
They're ok, but don't expect them to be bullet proof. Glass backed phones will have the rear panel eventually crack due to the stress of the rigid case against the phone body. Every single one of my phones in their cases have cracked on the rear. Hopefully their next gen cases will fix this issue

Been seeing Tegris used more the past year or so.
Who else is making cool shit with Tegris besides AXL, Ferro, and Unobtainium?
WTF, Crye, Spiritus. Crye was the pioneer with Tegris. The AVS harness is lined with it in addition to their skeletal cummerbunds used in the JPC/SPC. People originally mistook it for carbon fiber. Very cool material to work with. Allows you to "break the norm" when sewing.
this is a Warrior Assault lpc v2 so idk if this belongs here or in poorgay. also i love woodland x odg. working on accquirng a better holster. probably going to be a safariland.
Catching up on old business, picrel. Showing abt 0.4dBm max dev from previous posted specan measurements using the Agilent E4416A Power Meter w/shown sensor. For those who don't know, the black thing is a radio, for the rest who don't know, the black thing attached to the radio is an RF attenuator. Think of it like a big resistor so I don't Glock my power sensor head. Rated at 20Watts, it "absorbes" the powah at a level of 30dB. An old Narda, it is flast as a pancake all day long. This concludes the power output testing of my Baoching, results: SHIP IT. Forget the specs.
baofeng is based. You ever looked at some of the more gucci baofengs on aliexpress? there are some cool ones to be had for less than $50, just watch out for counterfeits.
the only thing I dont like about baofeng is how by default, all of the channels are in "wide-band" mode. So even if you are transmitting at lowest power it's still not FCC compliant for MURS. You have to program it to go to narrow band
Why are you homosexuals larping like you're some kind of super soldiers?
You're never going to use that shit outside your little village shooting range.
Thats why I dont actually buy any of this stuff, I just like looking at cool pictures. All the "gear" I own is a couple holsters (realistic ones like IWB and OWB pancakes), a couple IFAKs, some belt loop mag pouches and a surp Eagle warbelt if I take a class so i'm not wasting peoples time putting shit on my pants belt.
>Thats why I dont actually buy any of this stuff
a lot of the stuff on GQ is very valuable. particularly the chest rigs and clothing recommendations, I have used them when going hunting and camping in all sorts of weather and in bear country.
you dont have to go full larp with a lvl IV plate carrier and your blood type.

How do you guys learn how to make gear? Im trying to make a buttpack like pic related, but I can't find online instructions. Do you take one apart and measure the components or do you just send it?
There aren't many guides. Check YouTube channels like SailRite, LearnMYOG, ripstopbytheroll or JasonOfAllTrades. There's a Sewing general thread on PrepHole pretty regularly now too. Sewing requires some prep work to get good results. You can seam rip one apart like you said and then use that to make patterns. For patterns, draw the shape you want and add seam allowance to the edges. >t. Also stumbling through gear-making.
I normally sew clothes but I made 2 pouches once. I bought a chink made pouch off amazon and ripped it apart to make a pattern that I could change to my needs, and sewed a copy as normal
Go to the surplus store or on amazon and buy a cheap piece of gear. Take it a apart and study it closely. You'll start to notice patterns on how things are done.
Is that Andrew Tate?
I dont know who andrew tate is but you sound like a homosexual

You ever thought about trying a G19 Safariland with that APX? I'm willing to bet the ALS will lock in. I did it for an Arex I own and it works flawlessly with a little modification to eliminate some sideways wiggle it had (since a Glock is wider). Pic related. Torture tested the ALS and its not coming out.
Disregard, seems like they make a Safariland specifically for the APX now.
I like that plce, what do you carry in the rear gp pouches?
Honestly atm nothing it’s just random things to add weight for when I ruck.
Gotcha. I'm running an rlcs fully loaded like a nixieworks lfr, but for what I use it for, I'm coming around using a ruck for my third line instead of having all my eggs in one basket
What kind of holster is that? Trying to find something for my belt and trying to avoid airshit
Tier 1 concealment.
Random specific question- is there a tried and true way to get chest seal adhesive off of clothing? Asking for a friend
>camo painted piss bottles
this guy is gonna make it
It'll always be bulky and annoying, but the best you can do is practice and adapt.
I've tried almost every sling and the two best slings are either a basic length of non adjustable webbing (for pure retention, not tightening against your body for hi speed lo drag dynamic movements) or the bfg snickers sling
the hailey sling gets an honorable mention, but the snickers sling is cheaper, stronger, and has a better pull tab imo
do you need to carry anything else on the rig? pic related holds 4 and 4. Gadsen also makes custom chest rigs so if you really wanted you could literally have them sew you a rig with exactly 3 rifle mags and 2 pistol mags if you wanted to be that much slimmer
>is there a tried and true way to get chest seal adhesive off of clothing?
Friction scrubbing is about it.
Tried that and got the bulk off, but it's still pretty gross. I was gonna try goo gone but idk if the oils in that are gonna frick the shirt but now that I say it out loud that's a lesser issue to me than the adhesive
What is the base material?
Ive had good luck with zippo fluid
whatever stretchy shit underarmor uses
I don't care about stains at this point I just dont want the adhesive collecting dirt n shit or rubbing off on my plate carrier
Yeah try zippo fluid
Pour some on it and wait for it to evaporate off, generally will do oils and some adhesives off nylon stuff
If you just rock an AK, you should already have a cleaning rod :^]

Anyone ever tried the usmc sub belt?
it’s eagle industries. nothing more to say on that, really. the straps don’t really need to be there but you can use them if you want to.
Also, is it worth investing in a knife if I always carry a quality multitool?
sounds like your sling is too tight, or your gear placement is fricked up, but we can't tell without pics
Yeah, I should probably get a better sling. I'm eyeing up the Magpul one that lets you switch from a single point to a 2 point.
Actually before I go consooming, is there any DIY ways to add some padding to a simple canvas sling?
Yt thrifty operator and check out his diy slings

It'll never feel like you don't have gear in anon, but there should be any serious hangups. If there are you need to move things around or something, for example I used to have my sling get stuck on my antenna on my back.
You can just like sell the stolen pouches to buy molle pouches that dont suck.
I actually like the old Safariland kydex gear a lot. I tried stuff like Direct Action and HSGI nylon stuff but it's not for me. Good old clackity-clack plastic is my thing.

anyone try this.chink Senshi fake? I'm eyeing the 2 inch version because it looks nice and only costs like $40. Probably not gonna last a long time and I suspect the buckle is shit but I only want to put a Safariland and some.kydex 9mm pouches on it for the range.
Alternatively, find me a 2 inch (not 1.75) belt that costs $40 shipped and you think would be better
>inb4 poor
Yes, I am. I invest all my money into ammo, shooting said ammo in classes and taking medical courses. I dont care about muh youtube personality $300 belts. Right now im using a surplus padded belt with a Safariland 6360, Blade-Tech kydex 9mm double mag pouch and a $5 dump pouch I resewn myself to improve / mod it. This belt would likely be a step up.
Thanks, dude. I have an inner belt or two around I can try pairing it with if the one it comes with sucks too badly. Gonna order it and report back on just how chinky it is once its deliver in like a month.

Any recommendations for pants belt? Currently on year 6 with Tuff Products EZ Feed. Still stiff but the adjustment strap has been loosening on it’s own.
Looking hard at Aegis. Also, poorgay friendly options preferred.
Magpul Tejas
Thanks again. I’m too moronic to have mentioned synthetic also preferred.
If you want super mega cheap a 5.11 Double Duty works for me. I carry in a pancake holster though, not sure how it works with IWB.
Not that great for me. I had one before the EZ feed.
Did you try the 1.75 inch version? I carry a full sized pistol on it no problem. The buckle is kinda shit but I cant complain for $10 or whatever I got it for. 5.11 belts run very, very small btw. In case anyone intends to buy one always get two sizes up.
1.5 to fit most belt loops. G19 appendix was lees than optimal.
If you wanna spend a bit more have a look at Hank's Belts.

I need some help for a holster guys.
Is there a concealed carry holster designed to be strapped on the inside of your thigh, inside of your pants so you can draw your handgun through the fly?
I'm gonna have to bring a smol shooty boi somewhere I really shouldn't soon and I can't keep it concealed any other way.
get a fannypack you moron
Wouldnt an ankle holster make more sense? If you get patted down theres an equal chance of it being discovered.
Get a small light handgun and put it on a piece of thin kevlar cord. Loop cord around belt and dangle handgun down pants. Use medical tape and secure the handgun to your thigh so it doesnt bounce. Grasp cord and pull up to draw.
You can get an NAA mini anywhere with that.
https://www.phlsterholsters.com/
Whats the best orientation to mount a weapon light. I'm not used to running them and have mine mounted with an offset arisaka mount (3 o clock).
>I'm not used to running
call me surprised
Just depends on where your LAM is or other accessories, I like to mount mine 3 o clock as tight as I can to my LAM as possible to save space.
if you aren't using a switch, 10 oclock works well. the whole 'mount it away from your body because people aim at the light thing' is pure overthinking by people who don't have anything too shoot and have too much time to fantasize about combat.
what even is the purpose of the non flat packed version? why aren't they all just flat packed
i am on the fence on whether i should i get a bump or ballistic helmet. i honestly don't feel i'll ever really need the ballistic helmet and the bump will work fine for eventuall nvg's while being lighter and cheaper. how did you decide, and if you got a ballistic helmet what made you get one?
don't buy a helmet until you have already bought nvgs and they're in your hand
to do otherwise is like buying a wedding ring when you're still a lonely incel in a basement thinking you'll get a gf someday
do it in the right order
please explain why. it's going to be a little while before i can get night vision and i thought it would be good to have the helmet first to get used to it.
that is something i never really considered, but it makes sense.
>Krink rod
>Good
Those little shits do not come out worth a damn
>please explain why. it's going to be a little while before i can get night vision and i thought it would be good to have the helmet first to get used to it.
you expressed that you want a helmet to hold your nvgs
you don't own nvgs yet
so why are you so worried about getting a helmet first
if you want a helmet in the meantime to look cool, literally buy any skateboard helmet off amazon and spray paint it- you'll look like a tryhard idiot either way but save some money to put towards nvgs you're not going to buy anyway
>expresses the superiority of owning a certain type of gun
>doesn't own that gun and posts a stock photo instead
lol
You're right: I am far too poor to justify a krink, but even a WASR should should have one.
For an inner belt, is it better to go 1.5 or 2.0? I've noticed that 1.75 isn't always available e.g. LAB. I am honestly not sure I could fit a 2.0 in a lot of belt loops.
1.5 = normal pants
2 = tac pants
>AWS lab
noo noo you go SMU for slightly more and less headache

wat. I just want something I can take to local competitions once a month or so. What am I missing to LAB over SMU?
Not having weird dangly molle panels.
>1.75

That would be the emdom flex, way nice
>>That would be the emdom flex, way nice
>velcro wears out needing replacement over time

>entire inner belt is velcro
What are you babbling about?
I'd say 1.75 is the goat choice, fits fine on tacticool pants but can still be used in most basic pairs of jeans and so on
I have the big g liner belt and I'm convinced it's the best liner belt out there, prove me wrong
Thanks anons.
Another question: what single mag pouches to people recommend for belts, specifically for AK's? I've noticed locking lugs catch on everything so didn't know if taco is still the king.
>ak magazine
for open top pouches without bungee retention, tacos are still king
If you can find any of the Kolchan mag pouches made by Balistyka they've got the same virtues as a Taco but with a kywi-like plastic insert to help give them some additional retention.
Ballistic helmets are a requirement for some live fire shoothouse courses if you ever want to go to a lot of those. Otherwise a bump is more than fine and a good investment pre nods because having a piece of something bonk your head is ill advised by your doctor.
>Ballistic helmets are a requirement for some live fire shoothouse courses
please don't give me good reasons to buy an armored helmet.
Man, back when botach had N49s for $599 it was like how are there people out there without them.
Most courses that require them will have a pool of sweated up ACHs floating around you can borrow.
i should probably buy one or two of those slaap plates from AU while they're still cheap.
Helmets aren't just there for night vision use. They're there so when you get shot at, you have something to protect your head. Why are you buying all this gear if not for combat uses?
im not him, but some people what NVG's so they can actually use them, like hunting at night. And its not really practical to use NV without a helmet.
>inb4 skullcrusher
it didn't get that name out of irony
reminder that no one can see your cringe nightcap at night and its a perfectly good way to wear nods
Yeah but they just sort of slide around assuming you arent an LMT owner (bald as shit) or buzz cut creep. Or you have to crank them down to uncomfortable levels.
They arent that good honestly ive never worn mine outside of testing because they just suck to have on your helmet.
For the life of me I cannot believe people are paying what they are paying for krinks these days.
mine fits snug but its not unbearable, im also only using a pvs-14, dualies would probably wobble a lot more.
There's no reason to get normal rolled compressed gauze when S/Z fold compressed gauze exists, right?
Contract requirements and slightly easier to unroll on people without dumping them in the dirt. Superior in a clinical setting for sure.
Eh the slide to comfort ratio for me is why mine went out the door.
If you really want to get into gauze autism you should be getting packing gauze which is thinner and has an xray strip. NAR makes a non-hemostatic packing gauze and it costs about the same as their regular compressed gauze.
But realistically any type of gauze will do a good job for simply packing a wound.
i assume some of you all use alice belts still can those that do post their setups
I don't use alice belts, but I take inspiration from them

spc has best modularity and better breathability hands down. strandhogg is comfy but gets hotter quicker. tubes are also very overrated, velcro cummerbund system is the way and on the shoulders it just fricks with your buttstock. who cares if you can change out plate bags, chances are you're not gonna unless you're moronic and bought the wrong plates.
redpill me on the shaw arc carrier
Everything I've heard is that it is a great carrier except for cost. Personally I will never own something with tubes on the shoulders.
>Personally I will never own something with tubes on the shoulders.
not everybody can afford gear
No just don't like tubes when shouldering my rifle. Might work for some but I never found it comfortable or consistent
yeah i know what you meant i was just being a homosexual towards you for fun
I'm team tubes now ever since I genuinely wore out the velcro on my last carrier taking it on and off so much inside my house for no reason
No dude tubes on the cummerbund all the way. I have an AXL bund on both of my PCs. But on the shoulder it always made no sense to me. Although it makes more sense than a cobra buckle which won't release under tension.
Isn't there a gif of a tubes randomly exploding? It could happen to anyone, at any time. They are dangerous.
there's a gif of offbrand, made by a chinese company and not first spear, airsoft tubes that broke when shot by a bb

Tubes are moronic, IMO. How fricking hard is it to just lift the cummerbund and pull a couple of straps? Nooooo, we have to add proprietary plastic nonsense to the sides and shoulders, because... it might help you remove the carrier 0.34 seconds faster.
>How do you know they were offbrand?
because they look completely different from first spear brand tubes
>some noguns nogear babbling
whatever you say
> t. FirstSpear PR wagie
So what good are tubes? Come on, do your damn job and explain it to me.
Seems to me that they're okay for compliance with random .mil "emergency removal" specifications, but otherwise they absolutely suck & are a liability.
do they suck? are they a liablity? they only thing you've done is just ree about them, make an actual arguement
>5 cents from Big Velcro™ has been added to your wagie wallet!
wow, you seem really upset and offended that you don't own gear or guns
> Y-you don't own gear or guns
lol, you literally have no arguments. Mindless consoomer.
>I like tubes
>N-NO! Y-YOU'RE W-W-WRONG!
following a conversation must be rough for you
For literally the third time: What good are tubes?
"It won't wear out like muh velcro" is the most moronic and dog-brained thing I've ever heard. Do you have anything else?
Not gonna lie, the convenience of not having to lift your cummerbund is a solid factor
if you owned gear you would understand
but it's fricking hysterical that you're this mad by me liking something i own
Velcro sucks in wet conditions and wears out pretty frequently if you use your kit for things besides larping.
Velcro wears out at a reliable and predictable rate. It won't randomly fail on you like Tubes can. It'll never slip the way tubes can slip. It doesn't get in the way like tubes can, either.
What good are tubes?
To be fair I agree with you about velcro generally failing at a predictable rate. I have never had tubes fail on me yet though so at this point I guess it's just down to personal preference. I prefer not to hasten the degradation of my velcro and trust the tubes to last during the activities I put my PC through. YMMV
What? No it doesn't. Especially if you get it clogged with dirt and shit.
It was a ROC buckle
An anon here shot a tube and posted a webm and it broke
Tubes bend if you load into them and tend to snap at the worst times. Shoulder tubes come off if you run a stock across them and the rubber gets too grippy.
Tubes only for people who have an immediate edoff need otherwise they suck.
pretty sure those were tactec tubes and not first spear
it sucks
it fricks
Thermal Recommendations? Budget of no more than 5k and must be able to charge via USB
try asking in /nvg/. there is crossover but might get more info
What format?
>Charge via USB
Did you mean receive power via USB?
You're a pedantic little c**t, aren't you?
Nah theres a difference
There are thermals with built in battery packs and thermals with removable batteries. Within the latter there are sub categories of units that will charge bats via usb or units that just power via usb only
what's a decent SMG placard? I can't justify $200 for a "gucci" placard when in reality all subgun pouches are just velcro and elastic

thanks anon
anyone have experience with the HRT Maximus? I've been considering getting one
none of you guys are tier 1
Am I meant to put a canteen pouch on the little strip of fabric on either side of the four main pouches or what?
Anons can you reccomend me some good active hearing protection? I have howards now, but i would like someting waterproof so that i'm not afraid to shoot them covered in snow or in a rain. Bonus points for aux
AMPs with NFMI and adapter cable
Amps+NFMI = Best you can buy
Mid tier step would be 3m rangeguards with gel cups and EP3s to double up as needed
I have the peltor sports with bluetooth and they're pretty good. the buletooth audio quality isn't the best but gets a lot better if you use the aux. they even share hardware with comtacs so you can easily mount them to a helmet if you want. big brains run airpods under their earpro
I'm building out a slickster. any suggestions on what essentials I need to add?

what's more important to get first, a suppressor or nods?
Do you have anywhere to shoot at night?
>Do you have anywhere to shoot at night?
not at the moment, really. i'm leaning towards a can for this reason. but nods are so cool I'd probably just walk around at night with them and spook people walking their dogs kek
>I'd probably just walk around at night with them and spook people walking their dogs
You should definitely not do that.
ok to clarify, i dont mean jumping out of the woods and scaring people. i mean just walking by them on the sidewalk wearing nods as they walk their dogs
>but nods are so cool I'd probably just walk around at night with them
yup, even though I have a good place to shoot at night probably 80% of my tube time is just night hiking / urbex / etc
>and spook people walking their dogs kek
good recipe for unironically getting shot, though I admit to fricking with teens smoking in the park sometimes
nods are fun and definitely a superpower but don't make you invincible, and a surprising amount of people are totally chill with just fricking shooting at noises. stay safe out there
Get line of credit
Get in line for can, eform 4 times going up
Use line of credit on nods theyre super liquid
Nods more important than cans
Can first as it takes a while
Nods after because there is no tax stamp on them
>Nods more important than cans
Difficult but I almost agree
where do you even buy full-powered stuff like MAWL DAs and NGALs?

>The dirt cheap ORC Industries PCU L4 I picked up held up the best on that front
Good to know
>I know Beyond runs sales on their L4 stuff pretty often, have had generally good luck with their stuff to date.
Yep, I love all of my Beyond (besides their off-tone m81, oops). Will keep an eye on their clearance stuff and experiment, I guess.
>you need to just enumerate what configurations work for you.
Fair enough. Like suggested I'll probably grab a heavier L5 and a cheap L4 when there's a good chance. This has been helpful, so thanks: trying to get all this shit properly sorted to incentivize myself to be less of a fair-weather outdoorsman.
hey anon,I've got a local store here in my area that are selling those jackets and pants was wondering if they're any good?
You know if The perst 3 is waterproof?
Sort of ?
It has a couple o-rings and whatnot but its not robustly built in some areas
Id feel safe in rain but I would leave it at home for VBSS
>You know if The perst 3 is waterproof?
The consensus is, they are rainproof. but not submersible.
hi fellas im looking for some outerwear.
With that in mind
>PCU level 3 for insulation (Or Arcteryx Rho for consistency)
>Arcteryx Alpha Leaf for rain gear
thank you a2
it's going to be getting cold soon.
You knee grows buy knives?
You keep just one knife with your gear or do you like axes or hatchets as well when you’re innawoods?
Hey talk about knives a little pls.
its always the teenage posters who don't own X thing who defend X thing the hardest lol
I am looking for a padded duty belt sleeve with MOLLE, preferably black color, anyone any suggestions?
Could also be a multiple piece duty belt.
Budget doesn't matter.
so you want literally any belt
hey guys im new to this and i want a plate carrier with a big thing of velcro on the front
i am looking at the jpc 2.0 and the mayflower apc
are these good or would you recommend something else
yeah
LBT-6094 or nothing anon
JPC 2.0 is okay. I got a spiritus elastic cummerbund with mine and it works alright. Elastic cummerbunds are the way to go tbh. Spiritus, TREX arms, ferro concepts
Someone fricking buy this shit. BST is gay and never around.
Both lightly used
$170 for the Haley
$180 for the Pusher
[email protected]
Nah, shits gay.
if your gonna sell it to me for an actually decent price ill buy the bigger rig.
2 questions, Is esstac a reliable site? also are hessco 4401s better than the 4400? They are selling the 4401s for less than the 4400s, but i thought the 4401s are the same but lighter
>Is esstac a reliable site
yes
>also are hessco 4401s better than the 4400
They're both level 4 plates, but 4400s are multicurve and 4401s are single curve. If you're seeing different weights make sure you're looking at the same size and not comparing a 10x12 to a SAPI large.
Esstac makes the kywi mag pouches. I've bought plates from them before when they were the only ones with Hesco's in stock.
That's not much cheaper than brand new. Put it on eBay.
She's a combat medic (according to her posts), though I think her main purpose is to get dudes to donate to Ukraine.
https://www.reddit.com/user/panikiranechai
Literally stop caring about what women do. Why the frick was there even a question in your mind like that. Can you not imagine how bad that would suck to go prone with?
Can someone recommend me a small dump pouch that I can get for <$30? I dont feel like shelling out $50+ for a literal sack. I just need it to hold empty pistol mags and brass on the range.
walmart plastic bags tied to one of your belt loops. Sometimes you have to double up though. They just give them away.
I mean honestly i've been just using a cargo pocket to dump empty mags into and it works fine but my belt is looking kinda bare with just magazines and a holster on it so I guess a dump pouch wouldn't hurt. I like the look of the Maxpedition MM or the ATS Compact pouch but theres no way im spending $50 on it.
how small is small enough?
https://armynavyoutdoors.com/usmc-issue-coyote-molle-dump-pouch-used/
let's keep it that way.
><$30?
>walmart plastic bags
And you fricking hypocrites rreee at Condor. Condor.
I like /gq/ more than /arg/
Why do so many gear queers overlook wearing an armored belt?
Everybody creams over torso plates but nobody seems to give a shit about their waist
You got a heart and lungs in your ass or something? No shit they dont scream for waist armor when even side plates are hotly debated.
>abdominal aorta, inferior vena cava, lumbar and sacral spine, etc arent important
A waistline shot is a motherfricker (theres a reason people train modified mozambique), but I doubt a belt like that stops rounds. Its probably meant for shrapnel etc. I'd rather have an extended groin plate on my carrier.
why not both?
It wont stop a rifle round and it adds weight/bulk. Personally I dont think its worth it. I'm sure theres some application where it makes sense though, else Crye wouldnt be making them.
>rifle round
>rifle rounds
isn't the overwhelming majority of penetrating traumas from shrapnel?
>Because CONUS frag threat isnt immense
What do these words mean?
that you should go back to r*ddit or b*rfcom if you want a name and to take credit for your posts
Fantastic chat
Damn dude at a certain point how much armor you want? A fricking knight?
Because CONUS frag threat isnt immense and they wont do anything against rifle rounds.
Mobility heat loading is very specific to the person and environment/load so you cant really get generalized advice on it you need to just enumerate what configurations work for you.
Anyone have any good sling recommendations? I was going to go with the slingster from ferro concepts but heard that it will bind up a lot and its a pain in the ass to get out.
Vickers
BFG 2 point or Snickers 221 sling. All the others just feel cheap or inferior (D3, Proctor, Ferro, etc.)
I've got the padded version of this. The adjuster is really great. It's metal, all one piece and doesn't leave a long tail of webbing flopping.
https://www.optactical.com/spsysinosl.html
I've tried nearly every sling on the market
for a fancy, adjustable sling, bfg is the best unfortunately
i had a ferro sling and gave it to a friend for that reason. it worked great until i started using it with a jacket and chest rig. this was the first iteration of it, don't know if they've made subsequent versions that are better.
I was wondering the same thing with the different generations and what not.
I have one of these 7TS Safarilands (level 1 ALS) holsters. Should I consider upgrading it or are these considered okay? I like the look of the 6360 but not sure if spending $150+ on it is worth it.
Id replace the 7T before it cracks along the casting lines
I might try finding a used 6 series on eBay, they're kinda expensive new.
if you have a common handgun that might work out in your favor, otherwise they are a pretty solid purchase after you sell off the 7TS
Is the juggernaut worth it?
Seems pretty nice to navigate the woods with.
They're ok, but don't expect them to be bullet proof. Glass backed phones will have the rear panel eventually crack due to the stress of the rigid case against the phone body. Every single one of my phones in their cases have cracked on the rear. Hopefully their next gen cases will fix this issue
Just bought their new gen case for my s22, will update you lot on when it goes breasts up.
Do you have a need for an EUD?
this is a Warrior Assault lpc v2 so idk if this belongs here or in poorgay. also i love woodland x odg. working on accquirng a better holster. probably going to be a safariland.
Where did you cop Warrior Ass Sys in the US?
UKtactical.
NTA.
Been seeing Tegris used more the past year or so.
Who else is making cool shit with Tegris besides AXL, Ferro, and Unobtainium?
I limit my accessory expenses to 10% of the firearm's value.
>limit my accessory expenses to 10% of the firearm's value.
Ngmi, literal.
>not having a $6,000 thermal on your PSA
NGMI. optics are the most expensive part, they should cost more than the gun, generally speaking.
Does lanbos have a black friday sale or should I just grab these now?

>Thats why I dont actually buy any of this stuff
a lot of the stuff on GQ is very valuable. particularly the chest rigs and clothing recommendations, I have used them when going hunting and camping in all sorts of weather and in bear country.
you dont have to go full larp with a lvl IV plate carrier and your blood type.
what camo is this and should i get some
Isnt that just multicam?
dress like a fed, die like a fed
>muhfeds
There's plenty of shitbag agencies and agents out there without a doubt, but there are plenty of wholesome feds as well. The US Marshalls are doing God's work, removing filth from the populace with extreme prejudice and making everyone's life better.
>not seeing how dressing in camo that is related with "big gov" could be problematic.
absolute fricking bruh
>problematic
I don't speak new age pussy-ese. Nobody is shooting anybody for wearing camo. The boogaloo is not real.
For patterns, draw the shape you want and add seam allowance to the edges.
>t. Also stumbling through gear-making.
practice and experience
I normally sew clothes but I made 2 pouches once. I bought a chink made pouch off amazon and ripped it apart to make a pattern that I could change to my needs, and sewed a copy as normal
Go to the surplus store or on amazon and buy a cheap piece of gear. Take it a apart and study it closely. You'll start to notice patterns on how things are done.
Can anyone tell me what med pouch this gentleman is using?
I wouldn't copy anything he's doing.
absolute frickin yikes
Anyone know what color spray paint or rit dye needed to make ranger green pouches coyote brown?
Any good recommendations for this style of shirt? Recently got need for one. Woodland preferably, but OD would work too.
crye FR shirt
they don't have woodland, only r*nger green
optactical has them you helpless moron
How much of a dumb idea is using a Safariland shroud (the single strap one) instead of a UBL? I think it looks cool as hell.
