Yes, it's true. You're also gonna die if you are fit, there's no escaping the reaper. Being fit will make it less likely that you die sooner though (at least from the medical issues you get from being fat), and can improve your quality of living before you die.
Because exercising and being fit can promote good health and can boost your immune system and prevent other issues. Being fat increases the risk of something going wrong really bad. Fat people need to do some cardio and muscle training. If they do that, they can boost their metabolism and lose weight. The muscles can burn the extra calories whilw the fat will die off.
I see a lot of fats coping and seething. I will tell you a secret: If you're a man, you produce a hormone called testosterone, it basically makes you superhuman if you do any activity more than lifting a fork.
For cardio, do couch25K. It will take half an hour, three times a week, you have no excuse. After that go at your own pace, honestly running just a mile a day does wonders for your cardiovascular health.
For strength, buy a dumbbell set and do a curlbro routine. Don't listen to gymcels on PrepHole telling you oats and squats, you probably have decent leg strength because you probably squat 2pl8 every time you you get up to go to the fridge or bathroom. Once you've developed enough strength, start doing pull ups, and then start doing pullups wearing your pack and plates. It also only takes half an hour 3 times a week.
Once you have a decent baseline of cardio and strength, you should start losing weight, eat at a caloric deficit. Not going to lie, this part sucks, and lasts the longest, but you'll get used to the suck in short order. Once you're finally through it, you can stuff your face as much as you want as long as you burn the calories off afterwards.

Hiking 30+ miles per day with a full pack, running long distances with weight and weapons, staying awake and aware for long periods of time, just being physically reliable in life or death situations.

For cardio, do couch25K. It will take half an hour, three times a week, you have no excuse. After that go at your own pace, honestly running just a mile a day does wonders for your cardiovascular health.
For strength, buy a dumbbell set and do a curlbro routine. Don't listen to gymcels on PrepHole telling you oats and squats, you probably have decent leg strength because you probably squat 2pl8 every time you you get up to go to the fridge or bathroom. Once you've developed enough strength, start doing pull ups, and then start doing pullups wearing your pack and plates. It also only takes half an hour 3 times a week.
Once you have a decent baseline of cardio and strength, you should start losing weight, eat at a caloric deficit. Not going to lie, this part sucks, and lasts the longest, but you'll get used to the suck in short order. Once you're finally through it, you can stuff your face as much as you want as long as you burn the calories off afterwards.

If you're average strenght and can run with gear without collapsing panting after a minute you're pretty much good in terms of modern combat. Modern guns have basically no recoil and war is largely mechanized.
There is a basic minimum you have to reach but it's not as far up as some people think and once it's been reached the returns are dwindling. It doesn't really matter how much more you can bench than a guy if you both are capable of keeping up with the squad.
