The switch i removed has these little prong things that depress, presumably connecting and disconnecting when the switch is up or down. It's not a typical switch like a light switch or something. I shopped around for a drop-in replacement but didnt really find anything. And when I tried to just jump the terminals using a paper clip, it sparked up so idk if theres something going on that I'm not aware of.
The only replacements I can find look more like pic rel. Maybe I just need to remove more of the switch and it broke off at a weird spot? Mine has depressable round prongs, not rigid flat ones like in all the replacement parts I'm finding.
And why did it spark when I connected the terminals with a paper clip? I thought that would basically be equivelant to the switch being in the 'on' position.
Thanks I'll have to do that, was hoping I could find a replacement for this component of the switch (it popped right out, so i thought maybe it was a replaceable item itself).
I'm sure it is replaceable (ereplacementparts etc may have it) but when cheapshit breaks I upgrade to something more durable and have never been saddened thereby.
I tried just connecting the two metal things with a paper clip, but the extension chord started sparking. Did i fry it?
Weld the contacts together using a car battery. Then use the plug to turn on and off.
Sparking is a not good enough connection
I can't find a replacement online, doubt they have them at home depot or harbor freight
>I can't find a replacement online,
You moron. You can put literally any switch in there and itll work.
>inb4 "I put a 0.1A switch on it and it sparked and didnt work 🙁 "

Unplug it, take the small panel off, remove the broken switch, take it with you when you buy a replacement.... you Black person.
and please don't call me a Black person i am clearly white
Not repairable, get a new one. Take the switch off and take it to an electrical supply house to match up.

Forgot pic

Ask a man to firmly push the paper clip against the terminals.
They doesn't even make sense for the cord to spark
Where did the cord spark?
The paperclip should have melted
Thats what I did and it sparked where the extension cord met the cement mixer. Why would the paper clip melt? Trolling?
Remove switch completely so you can match it up then either find one that fits or straight wire the thing to it runs when plugged in.
