No obvious mistakes showing as a trend. Did you have fun? Go back and do it more often.

It was really fun. Instructors said about the same and told me just do exactly what you’re doing. Wish I could shoot whenever I want but this was part of LE training and we only have about 8 live fires in the program. Private gun ownership for target shooting is borderline impossible here too unfortunately.

Well done, eight metres is the likeliest range for an engagement— though I prefer targeting above the neck at 14 meters ツ

Horrible grouping for someone who's obviously trying to show off. That's barely acceptable IF it were at 25 yards.

No private gun ownership at all? May I ask which country? It's okay if you don't want to say, I'm just curious because that's incredibly strict.

At least you live in a sane country where you won’t get shot going to school, or the mall, or a grocery store.

I mean I live in the US and I don't. The high murder rate in the US is pretty much do to poors doing drug crimes in concentrated city centers. If you look at my states crime rates it's as safe as western Europe.

For a start it's okay but you should be able to get tighter groups at 25 meters in 500 rounds from now. Also start doing double taps very early on, most shooters need a small reset time between each shot.

When you shoot, should you go fast or slow? I tend to go fast because I'm assuming that's what I'll do in an actual shooting. If I'm at the indoor range, I have to stop every three rounds to pick up my cases or else the brass israelite will get it.

How’s the double action pull on your 75BD? I have a P-01 Omega and I put in a new hammer spring /hoping/ to get a lighter pull but instead I just got more of the same. I’ve been training with the double action pull and I think I’m decently accurate but the trigger pull is still so heavy that I still jerk the pistol off to one side when the trigger breaks.

I practice that first draw and pop, then I practiced double tapping. The shots that count are the ones you hit. If you can draw first, sight in first, and shoot first, you're better off. Thats just me trying to use logic. Never been in a gunfight, never served.... never will...... :'(...., never been a cop, so take it as a buddy's words.

    Good shootin’ “Tex”.

I’d start alternating slow fire for accuracy and speed fire.
The idea being to bring them together for accuracy AND speed.

You’ve got a good foundation to work on there, though.

I’d also work on multiple target engagements from the draw; shoot and scoots; firing with your off-hand; anrjacking reaction drills, and “up close and personal” bad breath range point-shooting.

Every gunfight is unique, but the common denominator is you and your weapon.
How you employ it depends on the situation and the threat.

Garbage but good for a first timer. I recommend a bit of dry fire practice to get your trigger control down as well as just generally relaxing when on the firing line

first time thread so also jumping on board.
I've never shot this rifle at paper, only steel and even then in 2 years of owning it only put about 20 rounds (not including today) total.
20-round match, 200 points possible. Didn't realize I hadn't zeroed my elevation, after the 5th shot I realized I was moronic, got on paper but I'm all over the place. Savage 110T, trigger is quite light, on a bench w/bipod, hand under the stock pulling into my shoulder. Anything obvious here or do I just suck?

Breath control, firing hand firm handshake at most, slow on the trigger, follow through. Rifle is about getting a stable, comfortable position and then not fricking up when you take the shot.

Thanks fren, I intend on it. Finally part of a range so don't have to drive 3 hours to shoot on crownland.

For your first time, those are fine. Obviously if that would be your peak that's some burger tier shooting but most people aren't born with experience.

Stringing up and down: Aiming error, breathing or ammo. Another possibility is shooting from a cold barrel. Do 5 warmup/fouling shots first next time.
To the side and down: You jerked the trigger on those. Use your shooting hand to pull the rifle into your shoulder and then use your index finger to just touch the trigger. You don't want to squeeze here, since squeezing will make you tighten your hand and shift your point of aim.
As for how good this is, you really need more practice. I usually shoot 285-293 out of 300, on a smaller 10-ring.
pic related is obviously an exceptional "group of the day", but everything outside the 10 ring is one step closer to not making top 5.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
There are no points for misses, your goal is to get a "hit" as fast as you can.

First time shooting how did I do? At 4 and 8 metres.

For defensive gun user, good enough.
For any kind of accuracy or competition? More practice you need. Should be stacking holes at those distances. At least you don't do the Glock-typical down and right/left trigger jerk, which is a good start.

Well done, eight metres is the likeliest range for an engagement— though I prefer targeting above the neck at 14 meters ツ

If those targets are slow fire, you have quite a bit of room for improvement. Slow fire I do a target like the one on the left at 25m with a Gen4 G34

Thanks, I'll try those. I don't have it with pistols but I think I'm anticipating the recoil and pussyfooting it on the trigger. I've only shot in total maybe 60 rounds of 308, so yes, I absolutely need more time behind the trigger.

You fricked up dude, you should have bought the g21 gen5 instead of the 9mm, now if you wanna drop somebody on the spot you're gonna have to magdump them in the chest.

You can see me shoot a small group and then two lines of various height side by side. Confused the hell out of me until my red dot fell off.
