First carry gun what should I get anons

Wanted y'all's opinions on my two choices for my first handgun for my CCW. It's between a Jericho 941, or beretta 92fs inox. I like how both feel in the hand but good God the Beretta is not cheap.

I think you'd be better served with a small-frame .357 magnum loaded with hollowpoints. If you wanted to be gucci about it the deagle brand deagle comes in that caliber and it's a sleeper of a gun when chambered in that round once you find some ammo that feeds nicely although the deagle brand deagle is more of an open carry handgun unless you're big enough to recreate the tokarev skin table picture.

Your first CC gun should be small, like an S$W Shield, a Glock 42, or an S&W J-Frame. Trying to CC a full-sized handgun outside of winter months doesn't work, it'll always print, and frankly it's a larp to CC a full sized pistol anyways

in some states if a cop sees the pocket clip of your knife sticking out he could detain you and confiscate the knife and try to find if you've broken any knife laws once they process you back at the station.
if you are printing a bump in your waist a clerk or a security guard or literally just any random karen can call 911 and report you. The cops then show up to frisk and handcuff you before you are allowed to reach into your pocket to show your license to carry.

some people are just extra fucking cucked by the government like that.

It's a good question. Just adding onto the good answers the other anons have offered: There's a stance among a lot of CC'ers that the most valuable aspect of concealing a firearm is the concealment. If you advertise to the world that you're carrying a gun, you lose the very valuable element of surprise. For example, if a would-be attacker/robber is assessing a group of people in a gas station or on the sidewalk outsider a bar and trying to decide who is an easy target, and they can see the obvious outline of a pistol in one person's pocket or waistband, they'll come up behind that person first and knock them out unawares or maybe even try to take the gun to eliminate that threat. Or if armed attackers are hellbent on doing whatever they're doing, they'll run up quick and shoot the person who obviously has a gun first. That's basically the gist of that line of thinking, take from it what you will. The biggest thing about printing for me though is that if the gun/holster combo is bulky enough to leave a noticeable imprint on the outside of the pants, it's bulky/cumbersome enough to cause discomfort to me. Call me a pussy gay retard if you wish, but I like to be comfortable and wear comfortable clothes. The smaller the handgun I carry, the more comfortable I am as I go about my business.

        Only care where it's illegal.
The fuckin subway trains coming into the station will make a big draft that will flip your shirt up if you dont hold it down

        Anonymous

In some states if someone can tell you're carrying a gun because you're printing you can get charged for brandishing a firearm. It doesn't happen very often and is typically reserved for people being jackasses and trying to CC a deagle brand deagle in a spandex bodysuit or equivalent levels of being a fuckin retard, but the whole point of having a concealed handgun is for people to not know you have it for a lot of reasons but primarily because people that have no or little experience with firearms tend to be uncomfortable around them and sometimes even have a full-blown panic response and go into fight or flight mode. It's a keeping the peace sort of thing.

If you're carrying full-size do it in an open carry holster for faster draw, if you have to go concealed then you have to get something you can conceal. Unless you're fucking huge you're probably not going to be able to successfully CC a lot of full-size handguns, I've seen a dude that was 6'9 that conceal carried a full size 10mm tanfoglio with extended barrel and got away with it clean but that's about the limit and that's an extremely large man.

Reed's Ammo manufactures it for almost $2 CPR

it's mostly just my particular brand of autism. I like the name, "Action Express". I keep it as my bedside gun and take it out to the porch when I have a smoke, though for carry I do use a 9mm and general home defence I have an AR15.

I had the exact same choices and i decided on jericho because i got it for 1/3rd of an original price from israeli police. I don't regret it, it's an amazing gun, built like a tank, shooting extremally flat, with great trigger, but with beretta you would probably have more options with holsters and most spare parts

If you decide to buy Jericho, keep in mind that majority of parts, mags etc it's exchangable with tangfolio and cz 75, so buying jericho mags for jericho makes no sense if you can get the same shit for half the price, manufactured by cz

For only $300, it's better than nothing. I'd never put my life on 8 rounds of .380. If you have the money, go for a mag capacity of (bare minimum) 12 rounds. Mine holds 17, and believe me, having the ability to forgo carrying an extra mag makes carrying simpler and more comfortable.

Also, go for 9mm: it's cheaper in terms of cents per bullet and performs better in just about every regard.

I'm no expert on those guns, but I'd say in general get a pistol that's no more then 1.5" in width (because once it's in a holster the setup will feel a lot more bulky on your body), and has a grip barely big enough for your hands (grip-printing is the most significant issue I've had carrying).

There's a website called handgunhero that allows you to compare both the raw stats but also scaled pictures of different handguns.

Haven’t came on PrepHole in a while, but thought you guys might have some advice or just insight.

    Inb4 calls me a bitch

how do you guys hone that EDC mindset? I just moved to very violent US city and have considered starting to EDC very soon after moving here.

From a means to prevent armed robbery perspective : Obviously I don’t want to be become a victim of robbery. which is what draws me toward getting a CCW. But do I really value life more than a wallet of cash and cards what they’re after? I mean in a hypothetical world if that’s GUARANTEED all they’re after, and there was a 100% way to know that they’d leave you unharmed after robbing you, it would be a case where what’s the point of taking a life because of replaceable things, dealing with PTS and all it’s disturbing byproducts, an investigation, etc etc. I say just fuck it and take that on the chin.

However this isn’t a such a world. There is that unknown . Maybe they will just rob you and leave. Or maybe after they do, they will get rid of you being as you’re a witness. This for me is what pushes me towards carrying. Not to be protect myself from losing a wallet, but to protect myself from losing my life. Is this line of thinking common? How do you guys approach this. This is from a robbery perspective and my thought process, but obviously there’s so many unknowns. Rape, kidnapping, etc. Do you guys carry cause you don’t wanna take that chance? How do you approach that unknown?

      Didn’t read your full post

Watch Paul Harrell’s video on “frame of mind” for carrying.
Read the local news religiously to watch for crime patterns.
Carry everyday you can. This is to build program compliance and so you’ll feel naked without a gun.
Practice draws, etc. but most importantly practice awareness. Simply avoiding dangerous areas like dark areas, gas stations after dark, atms after dark, parking garages. Eye up any pedestrians since car jackings are in vogue but what they do in my city is rear end you in a stolen car and then stick a gun in your face when you get out of the car

      >it would be a case where what’s the point of taking a life because of replaceable things ... I say just fuck it and take that on the chin.
      Can't relate.

If I have the opportunity to legally kill someone then you bet your ass I'm taking it. Obviously I'm not going to shoot unless I'm confident it's legally justified and I'm definitely not going to admit that I might have had any sort of motive other than to defuse a threat to my life but fuck it, someone tries to rob me then they deserve to die.
